Member representing Ijebu Ode/Odogbolu/Ijebu North-East Federal Constituency, Ogun State, in the House of Representatives, Hon Kehinde Odeneye, yesterday said that President Muhammadu Buhari would win the forthcoming presidential election later this month.
Speaking with The Nation, he said Buhari had performed creditably in the fight against insurgency, corruption and other socio-economic problems facing the country.
He said that Nigerians would definitely reciprocate Buhari’s efforts at rebuilding the country in order to consolidate the achievements of his administration.
“We have seen how Buhari has been able to repel insurgents in the North East who , during the immediate past administration of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), were controlling many communities in many local government areas of Yobe and Borno.
”Now, President Buhari has been able to contain Boko Haram insurgents such that they have been chased away from the communities they were ruling and are only putting up pockets of resistance once in a while,”Odeneye said.
He berated the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for raising unnecessary allegations against President Mohammadu Buhari in recent times.
Odeneye, a two-term federal lawmaker, said it would amount to injustice if Amosun had succeeded in giving the party’s ticket to Yewa area of Ogun Central Senatorial district.
”What Amosun wants is four plus four plus four; this means the governor is seeking third term in office through his support for Adekunle Akinlade, his anointed candidate, who lost our party’s gubernatorial ticket and defected to APM.
“This is the reason why those of us from Ijebu/Remo area are solidly behind our party’s governorship candidate, Prince Dapo Abiodun.”
Odeneye promised to support the party to secure victory during the forthcoming elections, noting that the party was poised for victory based on its massive preparedness both at the federal and state levels.
