President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the government and people of Ondo and Ekiti states on the death of former military governor of the old Ondo State, Rear Admiral Abiodun Olukoya (retd.), who passed on at 72.
In a statement on Wednesday in Abuja by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, President Buhari mourned the late naval officer.

He described the late Olukoya, who was military governor of old Ondo State (now Ondo and Ekiti states) from 1990 and 1992, “as a brilliant officer who distinguished himself in his career in the military and performed creditably in Ondo State”.
The President noted that even after retirement from the military, the late Olukoya, in his desire for a better society, continued to render invaluable services to his community as a private citizen.
He prayed Almighty God to grant the deceased eternal rest and comfort his family, friends and associates as they mourn him.
