Buhari reappoints Maritime Academy’s Rector Effedua

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reappointment of Commodore Emmanuel Effedua (retd.) as the Rector of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron, Akwa Ibom State, for another term.

With his reappointment, Effedua is expected to be in office for another four years.

Effedua, who was first appointed on November 17, 2017, will continue in his office as from September 2, 2021.

A statement yesterday in Abuja by the Director of Press and Public Relations of the ministry, Eric Ojiekwe, announced the reappointment.

Also, Rear Admiral Jacob Ajani (retd.) has been appointed as the new Board Chairman of the institution.

He is to replace the former Board Chairman, Demola Seriki, who has been appointed Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain.

The new Board Chairman will also assume duties officially on September 2, 2021.

According to the statement, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transportation, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, presented the letter of reappointment to Effedua in her office in Abuja.
