President Muhammadu Buhari has reappointed Dr. Monday Igwe as medical director of Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital (FNPH) in Enugu for another four years
A statement by Deputy Director of Media and Public Relations at Federal Ministry of Health, Ahmadu Chindaya, said a letter signed by Minister of State for Health, Joseph Ekumankama, was presented to Igwe at ministry in Abuja.
Ekumankama, while urging Igwe to consolidate and improve on his achievements, said he should correct errors that he might have encountered during his first tenure in office.
He said: “Do not think that you have four years, start planning and execute so that, if there is any error you made in the last four years, such will not be repeated. Dreams, aspirations and visions you couldn’t accomplish now is the opportunity to accomplish them.
“Please remain steadfast in doing good and accelerate the process of accomplishing more, do all you can to ensure you leave the hospital far better than what it is today.”
Speaking further, the minister admonished him to work in peace and harmony with stakeholders, especially the board and management, to allow a conducive environment to deliver on his mandate.
Dr. Igwe, expressing gratitude to Mr. President and Ministry of Health for finding him worthy for reappointment, promised to improve on his achievements and he informed he was coming to serve in the capacity of a servant leader.
“I will continue to run an open door policy and be accessible to all. I will make more sacrifices to ensure that the hospital is lifted to higher heights,” he said.
