President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday returned to Abuja, the nation’s capital, after attending the 12th Extraordinary Summit of the African Union (AU) in Niamey, Niger Republic.
The President’s plane landed at the Presidential Wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, around 1:26 p.m with some members of his entourage.
He was received at the airport by top government officials.
In Niger Republic, President Buhari at the weekend participated at the launch of the Operational Phase of the AfCFTA where he signed the agreement on behalf of Nigeria.

By signing the treaty, Nigeria became the 53rd nation to sign the free trade agreement.
The agreement also came over a year after the AfCFTA Agreement was opened for signature in Kigali, Rwanda, at the 10th Extraordinary Summit of the AU, on March 21, last year.
The AfCFTA is expected to be the world’s largest free trade area since the formation of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) with a potential market of 1.2 billion people.
