The highly-anticipated first Saturday night party in the BBTitan Ziyakhala Wahala edition has come and gone but not without juicy gists and memories.

The party – as always – was not devoid of characteristic dance moves and binge drinking as well as the after party drama.

The housemates came out in different outfits that ranged from salacious to dapper.

From Sandra to Tsatsii, Yemi to Ebube, Yvonne to Marvin, Mmeli to Thabang, JayPee, Nana, and Jenni O, the housemates dressed ready for the party.

Here are some of the juicy gists from the party:

The party lounge

Biggie’s house for the Titans has been judged one of the best that is befitting for purpose. The house, which comes with an exquisite interior, kitchen, bathroom, rooms and exterior garden, also features a large swimming pool and jacuzzi.

However, on Saturday night, the housemates were greeted by the expansive and well fitted party lounge. The party lounge gave room for housemates to dance all night and limited opportunity for mirror dancing. The party lounge, which has a fitted sitting area and bar chairs, had the housemates drinking, dancing and gisting all through the three hours that the party lasted.

Blue Aiva didn’t get the memo

It was obvious that one of the four newly added housemates Blue Aiva didn’t get the memo for the party dress. While other housemates dressed for the party, Blue Aiva dressed for the pool and viewers wondered why she was dressing in a outfit for a Saturday night party that is totally devoid of pool.

DJ’s flaw

For every Big Brother Saturday night party, the DJ is a main factor to how groovy and lit the party would be. Just like the drinks and finger foods, the DJ has consistently determined the pace of the Saturday night parties. However, the activities and performance of the DJ for the first BBTitans Saturday Night party was a flaw. It didn’t help get all the housemates dancing. While the vibe was too laid back, it took the effort of the energetic housemates to pump up the vibe level all through the party.

The shirtless gang returns

Just like previous editions of the Big brother Franchise – especially in Nigeria – the shirtless gang has returned. For the first season of BBTitans, three Nigerian housemates Yemi Cregx, Ebubu and Marvin left the viewers and female housemates drooling over their abs on the dance floor. Marvin and Yemi Cregx – specially – ensured they mesmerised fellow female housemates with their bodies while dancing erotically.

Opportunity to get more drinks

Yemi Cregx and Marvin ignored their friendships in the house to enjoy the first Saturday night party. The two housemates rocked almost all the female housemates on the dancefloor. From Blue Aiva to Khosi, Melisa, Yvonne, Jenni O, JayPee, Sandra and Tsatsii, the two male housemates ensured none of the ladies was left hanging as they rocked their bodies on the dancefloor.

Like many ex-housemates of Big Brother show, the Titans also didn’t disappoint as some of the housemates ensured they smuggled some drinks outside the lounge after the party was declared over by Biggie. From Olivia to Yvonne, Marvin and Lukay, the housemates tried to smuggle some bottles of alcohol outside the party. The first Saturday night party was sponsored by Desperados.

The organisers of the ongoing BBTitans and one of the hosts, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu should explain to Nigerians why the show cannot wait till after the general elections, actress Cha Cha Eke’s hubby, Austin Faani has said.

The maiden edition of BBTitans kicked off on Sunday, January 15 with a mix of 10 nationals each from Nigeria and South Africa ushered into the house by the hosts, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Lawrence Maleka.

BBTitans will end on April 2, 2023 with the winner expected to walk home with a grand prize of $100,000.

Reacting to the ongoing reality TV show, Faani wondered why the organisers couldn’t wait for at least a month when the general elections would have been concluded.

The award-winning movie producer stated someday when they have to explain the reason behind their decision to go on with the show which he described as a distraction, he hoped they give valid ones that would make sense to everyone.

“Someday, not soon maybe, Ebuka and BBN will explain to Nigerians why they couldn’t wait for just a month as to not distract the Nigerian masses especially the southern Nigeria that engages more in their awesome show from the coming election”, he said.

“Just someday, there will be this dialogue, and I hope their reasons make sense and adds positive impact to what everyone in Nigeria is after at the moment.

“Get your PVC guys. I hear people say, vote wisely, vote with your conscience and all sorts.

“If you can’t use any of the above traits to vote, simply vote for Peter Obi and Datti Yusuf. Thumb print where you see a family picture.”

In December 2022, during a press briefing, the popular BBNaija host, Ebuka addressed concerns of many over the scheduled time for the ongoing BBTITANS show which coincides with the 2023 general polls.

When the organisers announced the premiere date for the show in October 2022, many expressed reservations as it coincidence with the general elections.

They feared youths could become overly immersed in the reality TV show seeing the interest it generates, to the point that they forget or neglect their civic duty.

But Ebuka while addressing the valid concerns of Nigerians said: “We underrate young Nigerians a little too much to believe they can’t focus on multiple things at the same time.

“I think young Nigerians are complex enough to understand that they can watch something when they want to and go out to vote when it’s time to vote.

“I do not think that anything can distract you when it’s time to perform your civic duty. People have registered to vote, people have their PVCs. Elections are going to hold and people are going to go out to vote. It shouldn’t stop the world. It doesn’t happen anywhere.

“So, I think we should not oversimplify young Nigerians to that level to think that’s all they think about.”
