  • I genuinely cared about Cross – Angel

    By Oluwatomisin Amokeoja

One of the BBNaija ‘Shine Ya Eye’ female finalists, Angel has told Cross she genuinely cared about him.

Angel said this on Saturday night after Pere had spoken and made mention of her making love to Cross.

Cross had ignored her before because he felt she doesn’t care about him and is a player.

Angel refuted the claims saying she genuinely cared about him and he was wrong for thinking it was any other way.

But Cross was not having it as he insisted that Angel was only playing games with him and that she was a master strategist who was very calculated about everything in the House.

They dragged the issue for a long time going back and forth.

Pere, who was close by, also interfered in the conversation intermittently.

Angel finally decided that Cross would know the truth when they eventually leave the House on Sunday evening.

    Liquorose weeps, laments constant heartbreaks

    By Oluwatomisin Amokeoja

Liquorose, following the final Saturday party in the BBNaija season six house, has lamented to Emmanuel she is tired of falling in love.

The dancer, who was suspected to have had a little more than she could handle at the party and emerged in the House drunk, claimed to be tired of falling in love because every guy she had been in love with took something away from her whenever they left.

Emmanuel, after some pointless banters, had taken her to the bedroom where she sobbed profusely in front of the mirror while the first Nigerian to win the Mister Africa pageant consoled her from behind.

While weeping, she spoke about heartbreak and how she often suffered it because she always gave her all despite warnings from her brother.

Emmanuel tried consoling her by telling her she was strong but this didn’t help as she claimed she was indeed strong physically but no one cares about what’s inside.

She also spoke about her fear of doing music because people had told her that she couldn’t do it.

This led to more tears but Emmanuel was there for her through it all.

They went on to discuss light-hearted topics like Liquorose’s crush list, and then she started to smile which overwhelmed the tears.

BBNaija Shine Ya Eye: 10 memorable moments from final Saturday party

    By Gbenga Bada

The 10th and final Saturday Night Party was more than a reunion as 20 evicted housemates partied non-stop with the last six housemates and finalists.

As millions of viewers and evicted housemates await who wins the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye edition, Big Brother surprised the six finalists and viewers when he got 20 ex-housemates to party with them in the same building.

With two DJs, one performance, the 26 housemates partied hard at the last Saturday Night Party in the Big Brother Naija House.

Sparkling in their various outfits, the finalists rocked The Champions-themed party in a way only they could do.

Here are 10 memorable moments from party:

    1. Partying with a partition

The Champions party was one with a twist. Like it was done in previous editions, Big Brother surprised the last six housemates by bringing back all the evicted 19 housemates including KayVee, who quit the show on medical grounds.

Though the ex-housemates were in the building to party with the last six housemates, a thick glass partition on the dance floor separated the ex-housemates from the finalists.

The housemates could see their former housemates but couldn’t touch them. The shock and surprise which this left on the six finalists commenced other moments of the night.

    2. All 26 housemates partied together for the first time

For the first time in the last 10 weeks, all the 26 housemates that participated in the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye partied together all night long. The 19 evicted housemates and KayVee got on the dance floor earlier while the six finalists were occupied with a special game to get them prepared in the house. After the 20 ex-housemates had settled in, Big Brother brought in the six finalists, who shouted, jumped and expressed shock at seeing their one-time housemates.

    3. A double DJ to round off the season

Like it has become a ritual for Big Brother, the services of two disc jockeys were employed to bring fun and entertainment to the 26 housemates. The last nine Saturday Night parties have brought out the best and the worst in some of the housemates – no thanks to the DJs. The Champions Party wasn’t any different as DJ Embassy and DJ Demola came prepared. The first half of the night had DJ Demola on the wheels of steel, while DJ Embassy gave the housemates something memorable to take home for the other half of the party.

    4. A Nini without Saga

The last Saturday night party had fans of Nini and Saga wondering exactly what is going on between the two friends. Saga and Nini, who were some of the popular dancefloor couples of the season, barely danced together all through the three-hour party. If you followed the season from day one then you probably got worried when the final Saturday night party began with Saga and Nini distancing themselves from each other. Though the friends stole a dance together briefly, the two literally stayed at two opposite ends of the party room all evening.

However, Nini began the night as she engaged in a chit-chat with Maria before retiring to a corner, far away in the room to dance with herself by the reflective mirror.

    5. Saskay danced all night without Jaypaul

Saskay and Jaypaul also left viewers and fans wondering what had suddenly gone amiss after two weeks of their eviction. Not that Jaypaul was absent at the party but he barely looked Saskay way as he danced with almost all other housemates except Saskay. While fans were still trying to grab their heads around Saga and Nini’s detachment, Saskay and Jaypaul’s distance crushed the expectation from viewers and fans of the show. The two who were almost inseparable during their stay in the house avoided each other all evening.

    6. JMK, Princess, Jackie B flaunt derrieres

Three of the evicted housemates, who attended the champions party with the sole aim of confusing viewers and housemates with their derrieres are JMK, Princess, and Jackie B. The three female ex-housemates left viewers and male evicted housemates drooling over their behind as they engaged in various salacious dance steps with DJ Demola and DJ Embassy’s magic. The three ex-housemates wore tight-hugging short gowns that had almost all the male ex-housemates drooling and six finalists hailing them.

    7. And the shoes gave way

For many of the female evicted housemates, their beautiful stilettos that had complemented their different outfits gave way barely 45 minutes into the party. Housemates like Saskay, JMK, and Princess felt inhibited by the stilettos and took time out to remove them before getting fully into the groove. Maria, who had worn her stilettos for the better part of the party – at some point – removed the pair to enable her to dig it on the dancefloor.

    8. An unusually calm Queen

One of the evicted housemates, who barely cared about reuniting with the finalists and remained unusually calm all through the three-hour Champion party was Queen. The evicted housemate, who came into the show in the second week and left in the nine and spent a total of seven weeks in the house, was unusually calm. Spotting a see-through long dress, Queen was rooted to a corner of the spacious party room throughout the night. Aside from a few of the male evicted housemates that found their way to her corner, Queen remained rooted to the corner as she danced lightly facing the reflective mirror. Close to her was Nini, who also remained unusually calm and barely interacted or danced with other ex-housemates.

    9. KayVee regains groove but Beatrice remains lonely

Six weeks after KayVee left the show over health grounds, he returned with a groove. KayVee turned up looking like a million bucks for the Champion’s party. He looked stunning in a suit and a turtle neck shirt. KayVee had a twin in Yerins, who appeared with a similar outfit. KayVee ensured he danced and grooved to the tunes blaring from the speakers in the party room. He engaged almost all the female housemates to a moment of dance, including Nini, Queen and lonely Beatrice. Beatrice still hasn’t warmed up to other evicted housemates – even after eight weeks of her eviction. Beatrice, who appeared lonely and in her world, kept dancing all by herself except for a few times some male housemates engaged her in a dance.

    10. Evicted housemates outshined six finalists

The 20 ex-housemates of the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye edition typically outshined the six finalists. The six finalists, who seemed more shock to see the other 20 ex-housemates danced but spent more time admiring and looking at their fellow housemates at the other end of the room. The six finalists engaged in consuming the alcohol content and this left Liquorose drunk after the party. Niyi ensured all the ex-housemates had intermittent shots of alcohol and some were left tipsy even as they exchanged goodbyes with the six finalists.
