    BBNaija Lockdown: Week five recap

    By Gbenga Bada

BIG Brother Naija Lockdown entered its fifth week on Sunday, August 16 after four weeks and 29 days of frills and thrills.

In the fifth week, 15 housemates got viewers’ talking and rooting for favourite housemates as Kaisha joins the growing list of evicted housemates that include Tochi, Eric, Ka3na, Lilo.

Unlike Tochi’s eviction that got tongues wagging, Kaisha’s eviction seemed expected as fans, viewers and even Kaisha expected the eviction.

Here is a quick recap of the fifth week of the reality TV show that kicked off on Sunday, July 19.

Kiddwaya takes over the house’s leadership

On Monday, August 17, Kiddwaya emerged the winner of the Head of House challenge, hence, collecting the mantle of leadership from his love interest, Erica. To announce his deputy, Kiddwaya was reminded that Erica can’t be chosen because she already held the position of HoH. Kiddwaya was left with one choice and he went for the calculative TolaniBaj. After three weeks of losing out on their wager and winning it in the third week under the leadership of Ozo, Kiddwaya exhibited plans to ensure a wager win in the fifth week under his leadership. To exert his authority, Kiddwaya had lashed out on housemates leaving Lucy and other housemates to revolt. He later ate the humble pie and apologised to the housemates.

    Housemates win cash prizes

Some of the 15 housemates left in the BBNaija Lockdown house for the fifth week have continued to win cash prizes between Monday, August 17, and Wednesday, August 19. Five housemates, Laycon, Nengi, Prince, Wathoni, and Praise, won themselves a total of N2 million in the Hawaii challenge. The five housemates shared the sum with each member of the team receiving N400,000 each.

    The ‘Ships’

As expected, the fondness among the housemates keeps growing. After the exit of Lilo and Eric from the show, more bonds have been formed. However, the strongest of the Ships remain Neo and Vee’s relationship. The pair proved they were serious with one another when Neo sacrificed all his BBNaira for the week as well as a shirt just to secure a bouquet for Vee on her 24th birthday. Kiddwaya remains smitten with Erica all she has urged him to learn romance from Neo. Prince and Tolanibaj’s ship seems to be heading for the rocks fast as she opens up on how she has been discovering something new all through the week that points to their ship heading for rocks. Also worthy of mention is Bright O and Wathoni’s ship. The two seem to be starting something new as Dorathy seems to have taken a step back to allow the lovebirds to enjoy their time together. On Thursday, August 20, Bright O and were seen under the duvet discussing mutual likeness.

    Erica, Wathoni keep growing apart

Erica and Wathoni have not been enjoying the best of time together. The warring housemates have failed woefully in sustaining friendship in the house. While Wathoni maintains that she can’t stand Erica’s gut, the former Head of House says she won’t force any relationship with the Kenyan-Nigerian housemate. While Erica has repeatedly told other housemates that she’s not bothered about Wathoni’s untold affection for Kiddwaya, Wathoni says Erica’s only problem with her is her insecurity over Kiddwaya.

Biggie goes on a secret vacation

In the fifth week, the Head of House, Kiddwaya, was asked to take over the affairs of the house as Biggie embarked on a secret vacation. The instruction came shortly after Kiddwaya emerged the Head of House on Monday, August 17. 27-year-old Kiddwaya and TolaniBaj were saddled with the duties of Biggie, who revealed that he will be going on vacation, hence, his voice will be missing in the house for the next few days. Biggie, however, instructed Kiddwaya to ensure that activities in the house are managed diligently and no housemate must know about Biggie’s secret vacation. To communicate with Kiddwaya, Biggie rings the house and Kiddwaya reports to the Diary room to get instructions on challenges and games.

    BBNaija Lockdown: Week four recap

    By Gbenga Bada

Big Brother Naija Lockdown entered its fourth week on Sunday, August 9 after three weeks of frills and thrills. This week, 16 housemates got viewers’ talking and rooting for favourite housemates as Tochi and Eric joined Ka3na and Lilo as ex-housemates after three weeks in the house.

While the last day of the weekend got tongues wagging over the eviction of Tochi, Eric fans blamed him for losing his guard to get evicted shortly after Lilo.

Here is a quick recap of the third week of the show.

Erica follows Ozo’s style of leadership

Erica won the Head of House challenge on Monday, August 10 and she had some minutes to announce her deputy. Her choices were Kiddwaya and Ozo but she told Biggie that her first choice is Kiddwaya while Laycon is the substitute. After two weeks of losing out on their wager and winning it in the third week under the leadership of Ozo, Erica remains determined to cement the winnings. To exert at authority, Erica had to shout on Lucy and Bright O at different times. She was close to all housemates but remained stern and firm in her decisions.

    Housemates win cash prizes

The 16 housemates left in the BBNaija Lockdown house for the fourth week have continued to win cash prizes between Monday, August 9, and Wednesday, August 12. From the Blue and Black teams winning N2 million and N1 million during the Guinness challenge, to Erica and Praise winning N500K each and Oppo phones, in the Oppo charade games, the week has been filled with little wins and victories.

    The ‘Ships’

As expected, the fondness among the housemates keeps growing. After the exit of Lilo and Eric from the show, more bonds have been formed. Kiddwaya has remained smitten with Erica all through the fourth week as they both enjoyed immunity from eviction and privileges of the Head of House and Deputy HoH. Nengi and Ozo have remained close as good friends while Prince and Tolanibaj seem to be starting something new. Neo and Vee have remained strong and waxing stronger by the day. So much that Tolanibaj and other housemates are quick to tell the lovebirds to stop intimidating them with their Public Display of Affection. A new ship that seems growing but might not see the light of the day is between Dorathy and Bright O. However, Dorathy was quick to shut the thoughts down saying Bright O also has eyes for Wathoni.

    Erica admits missing Laycon

After three days of enjoying immunity from eviction and lounging in the Head of House arm of the house, Erica confessed that she misses the friendship she had with Laycon. Erica confessed while having a conversation with Ozo on Wednesday, August 12, Erica stated that she misses the bond she once shared with Laycon due to her relationship with Kiddwaya. “I feel like I should still be able to be friends with Laycon. We were friends, It’s not as if something happened between us so why can’t we just remain friends. I miss the friendship. I miss gisting with Laycon, I don’t like losing friends, I like the way his mind works but now for some stupid reasons we can’t talk,” she told Ozo.

    Prince finds friend in Lucy

Two weeks after the exit of Ka3na from the show, Lucy seems to have found a new friend in Prince. In the fourth week, Prince had gotten close to Lucy as a friend and had advised her on several issues – especially after her clash with Erica. Lucy expressed her innermost thoughts to Prince, who in turn advised her to remain herself said she isn’t a bad person. Prince further encouraged Lucy to keep being herself saying he doesn’t see her as a bad person. He noted that he had often mentioned that he is her friend. He advised that she shouldn’t let anybody’s opinion make her feel less of herself.

BBNaija Lockdown: Recap of week two

    By Gbenga Bada

Big Brother Naija Lockdown entered its second week on Sunday, July 26 after a fun-filled week. The 20 housemates set viewers’ tongues wagging from the first week and the second week had them taking it to another height.

Here is a quick recap of the second week of the show.

    Housemates escaped week one eviction

A week after BBNaija Lockdown kicked off, viewers were kept on the edge of their seats as it was unsure if Biggie will evict any housemate in the first live eviction show. However, the housemates, who waited patiently to know the new twist from Ebuka had their nerves calmed when it was announced that all the housemates were saved till the second Sunday.

Lucy emerges second Head of House

Lucy took over from Nengi as the new Head of the House of the BBNaija 2019 tagged Lockdown on Monday. Lucy emerged as the second Head of the House exactly a week after Nengi won the Head of House challenge at the Arena.

As requested by Biggie, Lucy chose Prince to be her deputy. In her speech, Lucy believes Prince is someone she can work with, hence her decision for choosing him to be her deputy. She further urged all the Housemates to play their part in her Inaugural address.

Housemates reveal secret pain during an uncommon Yoga session

During the week, housemates were engaged in an emotional discourse which brought a lot of the housemates nearly to the point of sobbing. Biggie then decided to get the housemates to reflect on all the issues and stresses that have been affecting them through a Yoga session. After the Yoga was completed tears could be seen on the faces of Praise, Lucy, Prince, and even stone-faced boss lady Ka3na.

    The ‘Ships’

BBNaija has become synonymous with relationships and the BBNaija Lockdown is no different.

As Eric and Lilo continue to wax stronger, new relationships seem to be emerging in the house. Kiddwaya has been smitten with Erica and all through the second week, the two were spotted having intimate talks or casual conversations. Neo and Vee are still trying to know themselves better as Ozo and Nengi seem to be heading somewhere despite Nengi saying they are only friends.

    Biggie hits housemates hard

For failing to understand a simple task that focused on the organisation without communication, Biggie hit housemates hard. Biggie decreed that since both the grey and black teams had broken the rules of the task, they both failed and there was no winner. Their punishment for the glorious loss was that both teams would have to clean the House on alternating days making sure it is sparkling and spotless when done.
