BBNaija: How CeeBi, MiNa, LoTo escaped Sunday’s eviction

The second most controversial pair in the Big Brother Naija ( BBNaija ) house; Cee-C and Tobi (CeeBi) has been saved in the competition.

This is a departure from the expectation of many who found distasteful, the relationship between the two who have taken their strategic partnership into romance mode. Cee-C has also been criticised for being rude and unfriendly, while Tobi is considered weak in the light of his soft spot and tolerance for Cee-C’s excesses.

If the initial nominations were not cancelled by Big Brother who eventually put up the eight pairs that were not covered by immunity, the table had put the trio of MiNa, CeBi and LoTo as the least liked set by fellow housemates, and they would have been the major targets by fans during last week’s voting exercise.

Going by how fans voted last week, CeeBi would have been the first among the three to be evicted having scored 13.5 percent as against 15.2 percent scored by LoTo. LoTo could have been evicted second going by MiNa’s score of 28.5 percent, being the highest overall.

Reading through displayed comments by fans on the show on the BBNaija channel on DStv and GOtv, one would wonder how Tobi who started so well in the competition has become a subject of ridicule. His ‘offence’ is how much romantic attention he is giving to Cee-C to the detriment of his interaction with other housemates and the kind of entertainment the fans hope to get from unrestrained camaraderie. But Cee-C has joined him in her seeming exclusive lifestyle, and he must explain and plead to her each time he strayed outside her hold.

Interestingly, the social media has been agog with memes of Tobi, depicting him as a weakling, just as one of the housemates described him as the Biblical Samson, and Cee-C as Delilah.

This season, the housemates are playing in pairs, thus If a housemate gets a reward or punishment, the partner is also at the receiving end.

The strength of the pair of Teddy A and Bambam (BamTeddy) showed in the result, as they came second place with 21.6 percent of the votes cast.

However, those affected by the eviction are Princess and Bitto (PriTo) with 3.5 percent vote, and Vandora and Dee-One (VanDee) with 2.98 percent.

Earlier, Khloe and K.Brule (KSquare) were disqualified after inuring three strikes for violating the House rules.

BBNaija: How Khloe, K.Brule were sacked from show

The table turned for immunity-enjoying pair, Khloe and K.Brule who no one thought will leave the Big Brother Naija (BBN) House this week, owing to the former’s post as Head of House which excluded her and her strategic partner, K.Brule from being nominated for possible eviction last week.

However, after incurring three strikes as a pair, both housemates were disqualified from the competition on Sunday, about two hours before the live eviction show.

K.Brule incurred the first strike after injuring his wrist and ankle in the first week, following a rejection of his romantic advance by female housemate Anto, thereby violating a section of the house rule on self-inflicted violence. The last two strikes occurred Saturday night after Khloe was seen in a playback video referring to K.Brule as a ‘bastard’. The third and last strike was incurred by K.Brule who was seen in the same video assaulting another housemate, Dee-One physically.

The expulsion came as a surprise to fans of the show, who were only expecting four housemates to be evicted.

Thus, when the pair of Princess and Bitto (PriTo) and Vandora and Dee-One (VanDee) were evicted during the live show, it made six, the number of housemates eased out in one day.

    BBNaija: Eviction hits PriTo, VanDee

After 21 days in the Big Brother Naija House, ( BBNaija ) the first live eviction took place Sunday night with four housemates who had the least number of votes leaving show.

The first evicted pair in the show as announced by host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu during the live eviction show in Johannesburg, South Africa was Princess and Bitto (PriTo). Also evicted is the pair of Dee-One and Vandora (VanDee) who happened to be the second housemates with the least public votes.

Bitto said he had expected the eviction, adding that the longest he wanted to stay in the House was two weeks, but it turned out he did three weeks. This was just as Princess too admitted she felt a bit downcast after doing a recap of her journey in the House. On why she kept asking Bitto if he was married, she said she needed to know because it was a strategic partnership. Thus, when Ebuka asked Bitto on the stage if he was truly married, he answered in the negative. Bitto had been wearing a band which he said belongs to his mother. He said he brought it to the House to help him focus on the game.

When Dee-One and Vandora joined Ebuka on stage, Vandora said they might have been evicted because they were not into a romantic relationship like others, while Dee-One thought his utterances as a comedian might have put him in the bad books of some people. On reports about being married, he said he decided to keep that out of the game. Vandora however said she suspected he was married due to the way he carried himself in the house.

The live eviction has made the number of expelled housemates a total of six, leaving 14 more housemates to continue the competition.

This season, the housemates are playing in pairs, thus, if a housemate gets a reward or punishment, the partner is also at the receiving end.

Earlier, the pair of Khloe and K.Brule (K-Square) were disqualified from the show after incurring three strikes in violation of the house rules.

K.Brule incurred the first strike after injuring his wrist and ankle in the first week, following a rejection of his romantic advance to female housemate Anto, thereby violating a section of the house rule on self-inflicted violence. The last two strikes occurred Saturday night after Khloe was seen in a playback video referring to a fellow housemate as a ‘bastard’. The third and last strike was incurred by K.Brule who was seen in the same video assaulting another housemate physically at bed time.

Apart from the K-Square who left the house despite their immunity from normal eviction, the pair of Leo and Alex (LeoLex) was excluded from the eviction fever this week, as they had been saved through Khloe’s veto as Head of House last week.

The show kicked off with Ebuka introducing music act, OritseFemi who did a remix of his ‘Double Wahala’ hit song, a title which incidentally is the theme of this year’s show. His second song, ‘Ongba Larami’ equally got the studio guests dancing.

Before the second set of eviction was announced, the show also had Mr 2Kay on the stage, doing his ‘Belema’ song.

Tobi and Cee-C, otherwise called CeeBi were nominated for possible eviction by five out of the nine other pairs, making their nomination the second highest to that of Miracle, the pilot and his partner Nina otherwise called MiNa who were put up by seven pairs this week.

This was followed by Lolu and Anto (LoTo) with four nominations; Vandora and Dee-One with two nominations; Banbam and Teddy A (BamTeddy) and Angel and Ifue Ennada (AngelIfu) with one nomination each, while Rico and Ahneeka (RiNeeka) and Princess and Bitto (PriTo) got no nominations by the other housemates.

BBNaija: Big Brother punishes Lolu, Cee-C

Lolu and Cee C have been hit with a double strike from Big Brother for breaking the rules, following their clash in the house on Wednesday. One more strike will disqualify both of them from show

Big Brother assembled all the housemates on Thursday, and played a clip of what happened between the two housemates, when they were paired with rope the previous day.

Afterwards, he gave his verdict, scolding them for not handling the situation maturedly before giving them double strikes each.

Big Brother further announced that if they both survive eviction on Sunday, they will officially become pairs throughout their stay on the show.

Lolu is currently paired with Anto, while Cee C is paired with Tobi. If both pairs survive this weekend, viewers will probably have a Team Anto (as Anto and Tobi will become pairs) and Team Celo (with Cee-C and Tobi becoming pairs).

The housemates have been informed by Big Brother that they were competing as pairs. This means that if a housemate gets evicted, his or her partner leaves too. If a housemate gets a reward or punishment, the partner will also be at the receiving end. Khloe got a strike two weeks ago, after her partner K.Brule jumped from a balcony and injured himself.

  • BBNaija: Savagery, clapbacks define the course

BBNaija: Savagery, clapbacks define the course

As reality show, Big Brother Naija continues to gather storm, housemates are becoming more comfortable showing their ‘Nigerianess’. The 18th day in the competition witnessed more clap backs than the rest days put together.

For instance, not being able put together a 56 second puzzle piece in a space of 10 minutes must have split their egos so much that any wrong buttons pressed would have caused an explosion. After being called arrogant by Biggie, Ahneeka was already a pot put to the boil but when Teddy A told her not to be silly, she exploded and threw shade. She even went as far as advising Teddy A to acquire a pair of steel ones.

For his part, K.Brule was no longer about to take Khloe’s offences lying down. He clapped back extra hard when Khloe tried him; letting her know that he was sick of her bullying and told her to get her own food because he’s not her father. On the brighter side, K.Brule’s revolt landed him cuddles and sweet compliments.

Nina is known to be surrounded by a group of people that consider themselves superior. Even during the diary sessions, the other Housemates shamelessly declare her a weak link and constantly throw jabs at her inability to fully express herself in spoken word. The fact that she’s always tucked away nicely on Miracle’s lap hasn’t help much. But when Ifu Ennada threw direct jabs and called her names, Nina had none of it. She returned the offences and stood her ground. Though Miracle had to take it a step further and straighten Ifu Ennada out, Nina sure clapped back and gained a little respect from the others.

Rico Swavey however pulled the biggest clap back thus far; one that wasn’t entirely directed at individual but at the group as a whole. While they planned their meals, Rico Swavey let it  rain and pointed out just how disgusted he was with all the waste and how he loathed finding half consumed plates of food that would eventually be thrown out. Many of the Housemates did agree with him but this certainly did hit home.

BBNaija: Alex is plus one today

Big Brother Housemate, Alex has added a new age today.
Her giddiness happened to coincide with her argument with Leo, when he explained in very clear terms that he wanted no more “strings” between them.
She wanted to sleep in his bed and enjoy some coziness but Leo preferred to have nothing of the sort.
He sent her out and when she refused to leave; he changed position, replacing where he would normally keep his head with his feet.
“I have told you times without number that I don’t want more than this little thing we have,” Leo was quoted, in his discussion with Alex.
He tried to reason with her that their pairing was just a game and nothing more with no extra strings attached.
Only to find out moments later that housemates were counting down to her birthday. Hence their now recently found midnight insomnia.
Tobi led the birthday chorus as housemates sang for a very emotional Alex who kept crying all through the joyous moment.
This was after lights out and Alex was given hugs in turn by housemates who happily wished her a lovely year ahead.

BBNaija: You are selfish, Tobi tells Cee-C

Tobi Bakare, former Head of House has finally seen through Cee-C charades and openly called her selfish.

He also alluded her to be controlling following an overreaction to a massage Tobi received earlier on.

She cannot continue to bear the idea of Tobi being involved with other housemates as they began to argue late last night.

Tobi who was unapologetic admitted Cee-C was selfish by trying to trap him to herself.

An impatient Cee-C who could not believe her ears, had to accept Tobi’s decisions.

“If this is who you are, it is okay. This who I am. You can’t afford to be doing these things. There is a difference between unnecessary conversations and flirting.” she said.

“I get where you are coming from. This is how you feel which is always being selfish.

“There is a general perspective, there is how things are and there is how you are taking things,” Tobi countered.

Cee- C who was appalled by Tobi’s reaction had to acknowledge and say “It is Okay.”

Aheenka came to the rescue, giving Tobi a cue to leave immediately.

BBNaija Video: Tobi finally shares a kiss with Cee-C

Big Brother housemate, Tobi, finally shares a kiss with Cee-C.

The duo, maybe in the spirit of valentine shared a long kiss in the store room.

However, some viewers of the ongoing reality show, had launched prayers on Twitter to save Tobi as they perceived him to be under some sort of ‘’spell’’

Cee-C who had severally embarrassed Tobi for trying to get romantic with her finally professed her love for him.

She did this, when she was paired with Lolu. She was asked not to interact with other housemates except him.

She confessed of being jealous of how Tobi plays with his new partner Bambam, while appreciating his care for her and love since the beginning of the show.

She said: “I’ve been jealous since yesterday seeing you with bambam, with lolu being my partner, it all got to me”

“I miss you alot Tobi, it may not look like it but I can’t wait to get back into your arms.
“Don’t ever think I’ve stopped loving you or anything about how I feel about you has changed.
“Today being Valentine’s Day, I’m sending tons of love to you because you are one of those people I love the most.”

  • BBNaija Love: The Politics of emotion

BBNaija Love: The Politics of emotion

I now see why Anto and Lolu make a good fit.

Lolu is a smart ass. Every response he has given to Cee-C has been on point. Probably Cee-C has met the man she ought to be with.

And just like Cee-C, every lady has the only person who can perfectly handle her and tell her the truth to her face. I hope Tobi realises he is just a fool for love after all. What Cee-C still terms a “partnership.”

In the end, BamBam seems to be Tobi’s fit. The empathy they share resonates loudly and within. Like a soulmate. A sudden ray of peace like a home made meal that greets you after a hectic day from Lagos Streets.

The irony of this evening, a lesson so real. Real enough to be grasped like today’s match when Real face PSG and hearts continue to beat in fear, worry and anxiety.

I think Big Brother teaches us how to live life in an enigmatic philosophy. And beyond all the trash we call it, there is a subtle message that we cannot see.

One that is re-enacted in Lords of the Flies and Joseph Conrad’s Book. Heart of darkness I think. How the intricacies of man begins to yield true meaning after sometime.

Hell yeah, and that is life. Life is a flowing stream that continues to yield meaning and we need just one person to brighten it to be real enough to us.

And for as long as these housemates continue to bring drama to our screens; We also will continue to learn that life is but a journey in bits and bits and tiny scraps and pieces till we reach the end.

With someone that can handle us by and by, so that we can at least make more meaning to Iife and to live the way we ought to.

    #BBNaija: Khloe, Dee-One Clash

Head of House Khloe and Dee-One got themselves in hot exchange of words on Tuesday morning in the Big Brother Naija House.

Khloe had called all housemates out for a meeting, waking them from their sleep, and it got Dee-One very angry. He asked Khloe in anger why she woke all housemates, and further accusing her of not having manner of approach when she retorted by asking whether he came to the Big Brother House to sleep.

Another Housemate, Angel then attacked Dee-One for being disrespectful to Khloe, saying that she is the Head of House and that she has the right to call for a meeting at any time. This led to further brawl between the two men.

After Vandora’s intervention, the housemates met separately, before a sudden call from Big Brother to freeze, while the Ninjas changed the ropes tied to some housemates, with the pairs bound to each other for the next 24 hours.

Big Brother further announced that the change meant that housemates are only to communicate with their paired partner for the next 24 hours
