  • BJAN to honour Mohammed, Ayorinde, others

    The Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN) plans to honour the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed for his contributions to the growth of communication and integrated marketing communication industry.

    The association will also honour some eminent individuals for contributing their quota to the development of the industry.

    Those to be honoured at the Fourth BJAN World Consumer Rights Day in Lagos on March 15, this year include:  Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde; Group Managing Director, Insight Communications, Mr. Jimi Awosika and Group Managing Director of SO&U Limited/former Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), Udeme Ufot.

    Others are: Registrar, APCON, Garba Bello Kankarofi; Managing Director 141 Worldwide, Mrs. Bunmi Oke and Managing Director Executive Options Limited/Publisher Billboard World Magazine, Mrs. Maureen Umanah.

    The BJAN Chairman, Goddie Ofose, said it is essential to honour those who have contributed to the growth of the Integrated Marketing Communication industry.

  • StarTimes to sponsor three subscribers to US

    StarTimes Nigeria has kicked off its StarTimes NBA All Access Tour in the year.

    According to the Pay TV firm, the year programme is expected to produce three StarTimes subscribers for an all-expense-paid one-week trip to Los Angeles in California, United States to watch American basketball superstars in action.

    The Marketing Director, Mr. Oludare Kafar, said the tour was designed with the NBA TV to reward basketball-loving StarTimes subscribers.

    He said the winners will have an opportunity to meet their heroes, superstars  and fulfill their dreams of watching live basketball matches.

    “This basketball trivia game is our response to the demand of our subscribers for more exciting sporting initiatives and everyone can participate in the program; To be a winner, get a StarTimes decoder if you don’t have it already.     He said in 2014, StarTimes introduce the campaign  and produced Mr Boluwaji Bamidele and Chinedu Iroche, StarTimes subscribers as winners.

    The programme startedwith an online competition on February 25 and to end this month.

    Pay TV service provider MultiChoice Nigeria has said the decision to move the world biggest football leagues to DStv Compact was because of the need to priorities subscribers’ needs, especially, in the face of current economic challenges.

    Its Managing Director, John Ugbe, who spoke during the launch of DStv Compact Value Campaign in Lagos said with the new offering, its customers would have access to the leagues, especially, English Premiership, La Liga and Euro 2016 from  February 23 via new sports channels, SuperSport 11 (DStv channel 231) and SuperSport 12 (DStv channel 232), dedicated to showcasing the EPL and La Liga respectively on the DStv Compact bouquet.

  • Nigerian advertisers brace for Cannes Lions Festival

    The stage is set for Nigerian advertising agencies to partake in world most glamorous and recognised advertising festival, Cannes Lions International Festival.

    The festival, which launches with a new campaign: Thank You Creativity, according to the Festival representative in Nigeria, CHINI Productions, has opened up the window for local agencies with series of activities that will climax few days to the global event in Paris, France.

  • StarTimes secures African Basketball League right

    StarTimes has secured right to air live broadcasts of the the African Basketball League (ABL) on the TRACE Sports Stars channel from March 4.

    It said with the right, basketball fans will be able to watch the ABL including the All-Star Games, Play offs and behind the scenes show live on TRACE channels and TRACE Sport Stars, the first global entertainment channel dedicated to review of lives of stars in the world of sport.
