    Miracle Inyanda shares journey, role in Lahira

    Rising actress Miracle Inyanda has opened up on her titular role and character in the military cum insurgency inspired series, ‘Lahira.’

    Inyanda made this known during a recent interview where she described the experience on the series set as amazing.

    When asked about her connection to the character on the show, she explained that the story was relatable to her because she grew up in a place where she was surrounded by terrorists most of the time, even in her university.

    The ‘Lahira’ star further noted that her upbringing in Jos gave her the courage to accept the script and bring to life the reality of insurgencies in Northern Nigeria, as she had witnessed, heard, and experienced everything firsthand.

    She further emphasised that certain scenes in the series were particularly difficult for her to film. One of such scenes, she noted, was the one in which her character’s father is killed.

    “..that moment brought back many emotional memories for me, as there was a time when my own biological father was nearly killed during a similar crisis,” Inyanda said.

    The actress also expressed gratitude to her parents’ for their unwavering support, acknowledging their role in her pursuit of an acting career. She also discussed her deep connection to her character in Lahira, drawing from personal experiences living in a region affected by terrorism.

    Inyanda mentioned Adesua Wellington, Osas, and Ini-Dima Okojie as her role models in the industry. She recognised the impact of Lahira on her career, considering it a turning point, but remained grounded and focused on living a normal life.

    Nollywood actors, Ibrahim Chatta, Kemi Korede and Aina Gold are lead actors in the newly released film, ‘Okan Soso.’

    The new film is directed by Monsuru Obadina and has since gained momentum among film lovers across the country and beyond.

    ‘Okan Soso’ is produced by Olamilekan Obadina and tells the story of a young man in a dilemma. Majekodunmi has been married for many years without no issue. He has only one option, either he succumbs to his mother’s pressure to have a child outside his marriage or sticks with his wife Damilola is his benefactor and remains childless.

    Speaking on the film, Obadina described ‘Okan Soso’ as a must watch for every Nigerian and most importantly, families.

    “There are lots of lessons to be learned in this movie. I urge everyone to take a few minutes of their time to see ‘Okan Soso.’ It clearly describes humans and the society we live in today. I can’t begin to narrate it to you but it is a masterpiece.”

    BBTitans star Yvonne set for homecoming in Akwa Ibom

    Akwa Ibom State government through the Ministry of Culture & Tourism is set to receive the Big Brother Africa Titans season 1 finalist, Yvonne Godswill.

    The announcement was made by the state commissioner for culture & tourism, Rt. Hon. Orman Esin, who expressed delight and readiness of tourism and entertainment stakeholders in the state to receive Yvonne.

    Yvonne is a digital content creator, model, and reality TV personality.

    The Nigerian emerged a finalist of the maiden edition of the Big Brother Africa Titans.

    The homecoming event, which is organised by the Akwa Ibom state government, will see Yvonne getting a warm reception from the people of Akwa Ibom between Friday, May 12 and Monday, May 14.

    Esin noted that it is a thing of pride for Akwa Ibom state that Yvonne conducted herself very well in the Big Brother Africa house and made the state proud before a global audience.

    Tinubu inauguration: APC youth plans Renewed Hope Concert

    Sixteen days to the inauguration ceremony of president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, leaders of the youth wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have announced a show tagged, ‘Renewed Hope Concert’ to celebrate the victory with other Nigerian youths.

    The event is scheduled for May 25 at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

    According to the organisers, the first-ever inauguration youth concert will feature top-notch entertainers from across the country.

    A statement signed by the Chairman, Renewed Hope Concert Media Committee, Ademuyiwa Adebola Taofeek said the event was planned as an inclusive celebratory activity for young people who contributed to the party’s victory.

    “It is an inclusive celebration of young people across the country who knocked on doors, persuaded friends, braved great risks, and stood firm to ensure the safe delivery of the Renewed Hope agenda of our next president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” part of the statement reads.

    “The concert is a way of acknowledging and appreciating their sacrifice and also an opportunity for us all to merry and network as we anticipate the formal assumption of office of our victorious City Boy.”

    With 12 days until the gig, the Venue Committee alongside members from the Entertainment Committee have took an inspection visit to the venue of the eagerly anticipated event.

    Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Jim Iyke has revealed that his colleague and friend, Ini Edo is soft emotionally.

    Jim made this known while opening up on what transpired between himself and Ini on the set of ‘Rent a room,’ which he was directing.

    The actor cum director narrated how he had to yell at Ini when she wasn’t getting her scripts right on a scene.

    “I was doing my thing directing this scene and one of my most favourite persons in the whole world wasn’t acting right so I had to yell at her, cursed her out and told her listen you are a super star out there in the world, from your big brother you can’t fuck with me. So, I finished my film and the scene is beautiful. You guys have no idea Ini is so soft, she was crying 5 minutes ago,” he said.

    Speaking on the experience on set, Jim Iyke said, “It’s been a creative storm! Sometimes the clouds gathered and threatened rain. Most times it was sunshine and a creative collaborative I’ve experienced rarely in my entire career. Yet at all times we moved.”

    The ‘Bad Comments’ actor also took out time to express gratitude to individuals, who helped him achieve success during the film shoot.

    Music executive Bankuli and Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde was one of the dignitaries that took out time to honour lawmaker and Quilox boss Shina Peller.

     Despite their different party lines, the two bigwigs in Oyo state decided to put aside their political differences to celebrate Peller’s achievement in the nightlife business.

     Makinde who was dressed in a striped blue shirt and jeans declared the ‘season 10’ of the club open to the public while giving his speech and assuring that entertainment/tourism would be a major part of his second term in office.

     The governor further sang the praises of Peller’s achievements with Quilox while praying that the business surpasses 30 more years.

     On his part, the Quilox night club boss thanked the staff and management for holding firm to the standard of the club and keeping it running while he focused on other businesses and politics for four years.

    Uzo Omenka, the former manager of late Reggae icon, Majek Fashek, recently held a lavish 70th birthday ceremony to celebrate his mother, Nwanefuru Omenka.

     The CEO of Miracle Day Music rolled out the carpets in the Ikosi area of Lagos to throw a birthday party that would linger on in the memories of attendees and guests.

     Aside from the cutting of the cake and prayers, several music artists took turns to mesmerise guests at the gathering.

     Some of the music acts at the event include German based veteran artist, 2vees, Victor Uwaifo Jr, Acho, King Wadada, and the Miracle Day Music band. The event was anchored by radio presenter and show host Micah Aruocha aka MC Icewater.

     Though some of his siblings outside the shores of Nigeria didn’t make it to the party, a handful of them were on hand to entertain guests while raining Naira on the 70-year-old Mrs. Omenka and Uzo.

     However, immediately after the party, Uzo sneaked back to the UK with his crew to prepare for the forthcoming Nigerian Festival UK.

    Osun State, Governor Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, has thrown his weight behind the Drum festival in Canada (Ayan-Agalu Festival).

    This is coming as the planning and the preparation for the maiden edition of the festival continues to gather momentum.

    Adeleke endorsed the festival while praising Prince Segun Akanni for his sense of bravery to stage the festival of drum in far away Canada.

    “I am particularly delighted to use this medium to express my categorical support and endorsement for the upcoming festival.

    “I also wish to salute your sense of bravery, intelligence and enthusiasm geared toward the revival of Africa’s and indeed, Yoruba cultural heritages. I am, indeed, proud of you and your team for this noble and legendary initiative aimed at revamping our indigenous tradition and culture from a state of near oblivion to a realm of global pedestal of fame, relevance and glory.     According to Akanni, the convener of the Drum Festival, the governor’s nod to the festival shows his recognition of Yoruba’s tradition and heritage.

    The Drum Festival is scheduled to hold on July 28 at the Fuzion Banquet hall in Ontario, Canada with the the theme, ‘Rejigging Yoruba cultural heritage as catalyst for national unity, progress and development.’
