    AGN demands apology from El-Rufai

The president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ejezie Emeka –Rollas has demanded an apology from Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai over his comment  referring to Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi as a Nollyword actor.

In a statement by Kate Henshaw, the AGN’s Director of Communications, Ejezie said that the statement of the governor is very offensive and demeaning to the guild and Nollywood as a whole as it was purely intended to deride the acting profession.

Part of the statement reads: “El Rufai’s statement is not only derogatory to the acting profession but degrading to the Actors in Nollywood. The statement is intended to belittle and demean the intellectual capacity of an actor. Using actors to make sarcastic examples of an unintelligent person is arrogant and condescending of a public office holder. The statement is very offensive and demeaning to the Actors Guild of Nigeria and Nollywood as a whole as it was purely intended to deride the acting profession.

“Nollywood Actors have in no small way projected the image of our dear country positively from the negative perception the likes of El Rufai and his cohorts have portrayed us to be. The Guild is utterly bewildered by this kind of statement from a sitting governor who claims to be educated and intelligent, referring to a noble profession of intelligentsia endowed with uncommon talent.

Little wonder Nigeria is battling from serious economic quagmire after many years of clueless leadership who depend solely on the oil industry as they are bereft of ideas to grow and develop the country.”

BBTitans: Thabang causes stir-up between Khosi, Nana

Khosi, Jenni O, and Nana recently got into a scuffle that heated up the Big Brother Titans house.

After the HoH games and nominations on Monday night, February 6, the housemates were all chilling when Jenni O’s screams of rage filled the air.

Khosi was also trying to throw hands in another corner. Their fellow housemates were quick to separate them so that no major problems arose.

When Khosi and Jenni O were separated, Khosi revealed to Miracle OP and Yemi, who were holding her back, that Nana had provoked her. The entire drama seemed to revolve around Thabang and Khosi’s relationship with him.

Khosi had apparently gotten angry when Nana joked about Thabang leaving Khosi alone in Sandton and returning to her.

Afterwards, Blue Aiva and Mmeli explained to all interested housemates, who wanted to know that Khosi had grabbed Nana aggressively and Jenni O came in to defend her.

Khosi was ready to turn things upside down as she fumbled in the garden with Miracle OP trying to free herself of his group so she could show Jenni O what’s up. Chairs were flipped, wigs were pulled off and arms were vibrating.

Jenni O who was in the house was also at the top of her voice screaming at Khosi and daring her to come to fight.

When things simmered down, Jenni O was still in tears throwing little bits of a tantrum while Miracle OP analysed the issue on a round table talk with Blue Aiva, Blaqboi, Mmeli, Olivia, Tsatsii, and Yvonne.

Later on, Head of House Tsatsii was found shedding premium tears as she spoke with Kanaga Jnr about the debacle in the house.

    BBTitans: Yemi Cregx defends Nelisa

Yemi Cregx has risen in defense of his partner, Nelisa over accusations made by Blue Aiva during the live eviction show on Sunday, February 5.

During the live show, Ebuka shook a few tables by asking Blue Aiva about Nelisa. Blue Aiva stated that she stands by her statement and believes that Nelisa is an instigator. Her utterances shocked Yemi Cregx, and he decided to speak to her about the issue.

Yemi Cregx was disappointed with Blue Aiva for not speaking to him first, as he believes they share a safe space to discuss anything. Additionally, since Nelisa is his partner, he would be in a perfect position to help them air their grievances. While Blue Aiva believes Nelisa instigated the truth or dare game that caused chaos in the house, Yemi Cregx stated that Blaqboi and Jaypee were the ones who approached him about the game. He expressed that Mmeli only said it was Nelisa because of a personal dispute.

Blue Aiva defended her views by letting Yemi Cregx know that Nelisa seems to be spreading different stories. Nelisa had told Blue Aiva she liked Yemi, and that’s why she might seem jealous, whereas with Yemi Cregx and Mmeli, she claimed she spoke to Blue Aiva about her crush on the latter. A statement Blue Aiva claims is a lie.

Yemi Cregx let her rant further and then stated that since Nelisa’s actions now affect his game, he would like Blue Aiva to be more open towards her instead of being closed off. “I don’t know her, maybe that’s why I don’t like her,” Blue Aiva responded.

I’ll marry a good Igbo lady without mom’s support – Nasboi

Popular skit maker Nasboi has stated he would yet marry an Igbo lady even if his mom were against his decision.

He stated this in the latest episode of the ‘Honest Bunch Podcast’ with popular radio personality, Nedu, and others.

Born Lawal Michael Nasiru Bolaji, the comic star recounted how his mother gave him a hard knock on the head at a young age for making a joke about marrying an Igbo girl.

According to him, his mother has always sounded it that she doesn’t want him to marry an Igbo woman for whatever reasons.

Speaking on the topic ‘Marriage is not a joke’, Nasboi stated: “Like my mom, she doesn’t want me to marry Igbo…bla! Bla! Bla!!!….For whatever reasons. When I was young, she gave me a big knock on the head because I made a joke about marrying an Igbo girl. My mom is Delta, Urhobo precisely.

“So, she had given me a knock. But now, I am 30 years old; I’m waiting for her. If the girl I wish to get married to is Igbo and my mother doesn’t want me to marry her, I’ll go ahead with the marriage.”

Asked why he would make such a radical decision, he replied: ‘Because I love this person. My mother has lived her life. You understand? I have to live my life.

“May God forgive me, my mother can die anytime after she has lived. Let’s assume she does 80, 70 or 90; I’ll go on with my marriage and my life.

“It happens, now. She could actually make me not marry a good Igbo woman. And then, pushes me to go find one stupid Yoruba girl. Get the context, Yoruba people are not stupid. But I’m saying she could make me leave the good Igbo woman because she wants me to get married to a Yoruba person. And then I’ll eventually go and end up with a stupid Yoruba person. You understand?

“And marriage is not a joke. I’m the one that knows what I saw in this woman that prompted my decision to settle down with her, not my mom.

“If I have seen the happiness here, my mom doesn’t see it, she’s not the one that’ll live with this person but me.

“So, I don’t care what she thinks. All I have to do is to tell her, ‘This is the person I want to marry’. You have raised a child. And if you believe you’ve raised me well, you ought to believe that I’ll be able to make the right choice.”

Nedu referred to a proverb that ‘What an elder sees sitting down, even though a child climbs a tree, he/she won’t be able to see it.

But Nasboi countering Nedu added: “Young people have started seeing it! I have arguments with my mom. She is not old, like 50. Her perception about life is totally different from mine. I’ve done only 30 years in this life but it feels like I have more experience than her.

“It is not a crime. Don’t think that because someone is older than you, you can’t have more experiences than the person.

“I always sit her down and tell her, ‘If I give you money, don’t give my money to pastors because that’s what you know how to do.’”
