BBTitans: 22 housemates to participate in ‘cooking’ third wager task

This week’s wager task is to host a traditional meal via a cooking show.

On Monday, January 30, Big Brother called on BlaqBoi, the Head of House into the diary room to relay instructions about this week’s wager task, and there was a quick split decision among housemates on the percentage. They settled on 75%.

Blaqboi read the wager task to the housemates, who seemed to be excited – one of the happy consequences of the task is food, and lots of it. And some food for thought. Just as well: There was some tension in the house this morning as nobody is that thrilled about eating noodles for breakfast.

The task is that the housemates cook a three-course meal (a starter, main meal and dessert) that combines Nigerian and South African flavours. It should be cohesive and it is to be presented via a cooking show, with a dressed table, presenters, chefs and sous chefs.

They will be given a chance to order ingredients and props by the end of Monday, but there’s no guarantee that these will be satisfied by Biggie. Should the housemates win the task, the 75% percent will be added onto their shopping budget. If they lose, that percentage will be deducted.

The housemates quickly and eagerly put their heads together to decide on meals, but there were many cooks and many opinions. A few felt that certain traditional meals could not be remixed.

On the suggested recipe list so far are egusi soup, kota, dombola, magwinya, jollof rice, yam, pork trotters and even sheep’s head.

  • SEYI VIBES: My sound is conscious

SEYI VIBES: My sound is conscious

RAVE of the moment, Seyi Vibes has opened up on his sound saying it’s Afro-soul that emanated from conscious sounds.

In a chat with Dadaboy Ehiz on Apple Music 1, Seyi Vibes said those who know him, know that he does conscious tunes.

“I would describe my sound [as] Afro-soul. I do conscious music a lot, anyone that knows Seyi Vibez knows me with a lot of conscious sound, so when I started doing the South African amapiano to my fusion, I started putting my conscious sound on it, even though there are fast beats, there are slow beats, I started adding my conscious sounds to it so that makes it more of my genre. I’m not trying to sound like no one, it’s just pure me. The way I sing from way back, I also know how to put it on fast beats, so everything’s just going. My sound is just afro soul, some Fela Kuti vibe, some Islamic vibe, some celestial thing. It’s a mixture of a lot of things.”

The Afrobeats singer further described Burna Boy’s rendition of his song as the biggest motivation saying, “From Burna Boy, it’s the biggest motivation I have to up to now. It’s the biggest motivation, like “Seyi don’t stop, just keep up. They insult you, they like you or not, don’t stop! Just keep moving.”
