  • I’m not a womaniser, says Timini Egbuson

I’m not a womaniser, says Timini Egbuson

Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson has dismissed widespread assumptions that he is a womaniser, saying his lifestyle and work schedule don’t allow room for such a narrative to be true.

Speaking on The Culture League podcast alongside footballer Victor Boniface and comedian Bovi, Timini revealed that he has been “technically single” for the past two to three years due to his demanding career.

He explained that his typical day is spent on set, often wrapping up exhausted by 11 p.m., leaving him with no time or energy for romantic pursuits, let alone juggling multiple partners.

“I admire my friends who can manage multiple relationships, but that life isn’t for me,” he said.

While acknowledging the public perception of him as a “bad boy,” Timini admitted he finds the image entertaining but insisted it doesn’t reflect his real-life choices.

He said, “A lot of people assume that I’m a womaniser. But I’m not. In the past two, three years, Nollywood has taken over my life in a way that there’s no room, except you will be the most unserious [to womanise].

“I even wonder how some of my friends who womanise, date four or five girls simultaneously, have time to attend to all of them. Because from being on set all day to getting back tired at 11 pm, I will now start chatting a lady? I don’t have the capacity for that. So, I’m not in the street as people may think I am.”

Motilola called for greater empathy and understanding, urging the public to stop judging women whose marriages don’t work out.

She said, “Why did I announce my divorce? There was a blog at that time, the blogger messaged me and said you live in disguise, and I will expose it. I know that you have left your marriage. So, I was like, you want to blackmail me at this point? When I have got nothing else to lose, I will post it.

“There is one guy that is deceiving you, there is one man somewhere. I don’t know, I think I need to ask you people, do people think people go into marriages hoping to leave? I think they think there is a a new couple of women out there who go into marriage with the intention of leaving. So make it make sense.

“Except a woman is clinically insãne, no woman will ever go into a marriage with the intention of leaving. You go because you want forever”.
