    The owners of the famous fast food company, Tastee Fried Chicken, recently launched The Bunmi Adedayo Foundation, in honour of their late son. Held at the Muson Centre, Lagos, the event witnessed a gathering of eminent personalities who took turns to pay glowing tributes to their deceased son.

    The foundation was conceived to continue to propagate Bunmi’s spirit of giving and sharing. He was said to have exhibited these traits through various charity programmes while he was the Executive Director of Tastee Fried Chicken.

    Now, age does not appear to be on her side. The lovely skinned beauty, popularly known as Queen of Sheba, chooses the gigs she attends these days, leaving the jumping and hopping around to younger ladies.

    Not a few people are wondering when the late former Bayelsa State governor, DSP Alamieyeseigha, will be buried. It is the one million dollar question on the lips of many Nigerians, particularly on the social scene.

    The reason for the delay in his burial has also been a topic for debates.  Alamieyeseigha died in the last quarter of 2015 at the age of 63. He died at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital after going into coma for days.

    According to close family sources, he was diabetic and was being treated in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before he was returned to Port Harcourt where he gave up the ghost.

Faysal, who used to be the rallying point of major social functions in Ilorin, hardly attends social events these days, no matter the status of the people involved. While no one knows the reason for his sudden sabbatical from the social scene, the rumour mill is brimming with speculations that his businesses are facing some hard times. Hence he is committing himself to resuscitating his business while staying away from public glare. Others have however countered the rumour, insisting that Faysal remains solid financially.

    Although the businessman has chosen to embrace privacy, his wife, Jumoke, is still very regular on the social circle and her JMK salon still hosts top celebrities in Ilorin on a daily basis.

Apart from his sojourn in politics, Isiaka, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria is a thoroughbred economist who has also carved a niche for himself in community development. Other prominent stakeholders in Ogun political development, who will also speak at the event, include Senator Olalekan Solomon Adeola a.k.a. Yayi, who is the Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Communication; Prince Rotimi Paseda, a chieftain of the Unity Party of Nigeria; Adewale Osinubi, the CEO Wesco Pools & Lottery and Alh Bidemi Rufai, Founder, Omo Mayodele Educational Foundation.

    A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun East and former Deputy Speaker of the Ogun state House of Assemby, Hon Tokunbo Oshin, will chair the event, while the erstwhile Chief Press Secretary to former Governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Mr Wale Adedayo, will serve as the compere.

    Baaroyin Dayo Rufai, the publisher of the magazine, argued that while a good number of such community-based tabloids and magazines in the state have gone extinct following the increasing harsh climate of publishing, dwindling sales figure, threat from web-based publishing, low advert patronage, among others, a few others have kept trudging on. Ijebu News Xtra has not only managed to survive the teething challenges of publishing but also boldly stamped its authority as the flagship of community magazine in Ijebuland, its target area.
