I have no issues with Emeka Ike- Ibinabo Fiberesima

Ibinabo Fiberesima, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), issued an official statement clarifying all court rulings and controversies surrounding her seat as AGN President as well as her relationship with Emeka Ike. The statement which was signed by Media Coordinator, Ekine Stronghold disclosed that Mrs Fibresima has no issues with actor, Emeka Ike and she will continue to address the welfare of Nigerian actors and actresses which he was elected into power to do. Read the full statement below:

The President of Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, Ibinabo Fiberesima Egbuka wishes to express her heartfelt appreciation to her members, Nollywood practitioners and teeming fans.

The love and support you have shown towards her is overwhelming. The moment the news of the court ruling filtered in on the 16th of March 2015, our office have received a barrage of phone calls, emails and text messages from so many people expressing their concern, support and love.

Some made us laugh, some made us cry. A particular individual sent a picture which is attached and said “I don’t know you but may this love in your heart never leave your industry. Love conquers hate. Love is what your industry needs and you carry it so hate will look for every reason to fight you whether genuine or not”. That, made me cry.

Sadly, that fellow’s prophecy has also come true as a few people that don’t mean well for the industry have used the opportunity to ferment trouble and open old wounds. This is not right. Hence, It is important to make certain clarifications on the matters on ground.

1.       The news of the court ruling annulling the November 2012 elections is true and as law abiding citizens, we will not do anything outside our constitutional right.

2.       We have expressed our right and have appealed the case.

3.       The Judgment did not make Emeka Ike the president of the Actors’ guild of Nigeria.

4.       The court judgment points to the direction that the election that brought me in was illegal.

5.       The case in question is between actor Emeka Ike , the board of trustees and the Segun Arinze lead government of National unity. It is not between I and Emeka Ike as some blogs have wrongly reported. I have no issues with Emeka Ike.

6.        The Board of trustees has done well to uphold our constitution’s provision that there cannot be a lacuna in government, hence Ibinabo Fiberesima Egbuka remains the President of Actors Guild of Nigeria.

7.       Ibinabo Fiberesima Egbuka remains committed to the well-being of the acting community of Nigeria. That is what she was elected to do. That, she we will continue to do. AGN….. The show must go on.

Beyonce a fan of Fela Kuti?

Whoever knew that Beyonce is a fan of the late Fela Anikulapo Kuti? The-Dream, Beyonce’s song writer, revealed that he recorded an entire, unreleased album with Beyonce prior to 2011 LP 4. According to the producer behind hits “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” and “Run The World (Girls),” the project was inspired by Nigerian Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.

“We did a whole Fela album that didn’t go up,” Terius Nash (his real name) wrote in a lengthy annotation to the lyrics of “End Of Time.” “It was right before we did 4. We did a whole different sounding thing, about twenty songs,” he continued. “Beyonce said she wanted to do something that sounds like Fela. That’s why there’s so much of that sound in the ‘End of Time’.”

“There’s always multiple albums being made,” The-Dream wrote. “Most of the time we’re just being creative, period. We’re talking about B, somebody who sings all day long and somebody who writes all day long. There’s probably a hundred records just sitting around.”

Whitney Houston’s $250k diamond ring missing

A 10-carat diamond ring given to Bobbi Kristina Brown by her late mother Whitney Houston has gone missing, Radar Online reported. The 22-year-old was reportedly wearing the $250,000 ring on Jan. 31, the day she was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her Atlanta home.

The ring is reportedly the same that Bobbi Kristina was wearing when she announced her engagement to her boyfriend Nick Gordon in July 2012. The aspiring actress had posted a photo of the ring on her Instagram account at the time.

According to reports, sources claimed that Bobbi Kristina’s family has been curious about the whereabouts of the ring after Gordon mentioned it during his interview with Dr. Phil that aired last week.

In the interview, Gordon asked his mother about the ring who replied that she had kept it safe. A member of the Houston family later called Dr. Phil to help find the ring, Radar Online reported. However, Gordon and his mother stated that they were talking about a different ring and not the one that was given to Bobbi Kristina by her Grammy award-winning mother, a source reportedly said.

Gordon is currently in rehab under a residential substance abuse treatment program. The 25-year-old is being investigated over Bobbi Kristina’s current condition. A criminal probe was launched by police after they found injuries on Bobbi Kristina’s body.

The Houston and the Brown families have been feuding over Bobbi Kristina’s situation as she continued to show no signs of improvement

Ruggedman shuts down claims he was arrested in China

Ruggedman has reacted to reports that claimed he was arrested after police officers stormed the venue of one of his tour performances in the Chinese city of Guangzhou.

Reacting to this he tweeted

“Ruggedman’s show was going smoothly and the turn up was loud. As a matter of fact, Super Eagles player, Aaron Samuel and B2Ks Demarion were there with Ruggedman, and all of a sudden the police just came in to stop the show. We later found out that it was a competing show promoter in China that called the police because they felt jealous. His other shows in other cities are still on course.”

Sources say he has informed his parents of his decision and his parents are solidly behind him.

He has consistently shared photos of his new love Sira and captioning one of the photos ‘Zero Competition’ saying in other words that no woman can compete with her for his love and attention.

Hollywood boycotts Dolce and Gabanna

Many celebrities in Hollywood are livid over the controversial interview by top designer Dolce and Gabbana. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabanna, founders of the D&G label gave a controversial interview in Italy’s Panorama magazine that is upsetting many people in hollywood. In it, they speak out against non-traditional families, specifically mentioning gay couples, and in vitro fertilization.

“You are born to a mother and a father. Or at least that’s how it should be,” Dolce said. “I call children of chemistry, synthetic children. Rented wombs, semen chosen from a catalog.” They said

Courtney Love, Ryan Murphy, and Elton John have been the most vocal over social media. Elton John in particular is calling for a boycott of their clothing.

On his Instagram, John posted a message that said,

“How dare you refer to my beautiful children as ‘synthetic.’ And shame on you for wagging your judgmental little fingers at IVF—a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfill their dream of having children. Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again. #BoycottDolceGabbana”

John and his partner David Furnish have two sons that were born via surrogate.

Coutney Love echoed the sentiment on her Instagram as well. “I just round up all my Dolce & Gabbana items and want to burn them. I’m just beyond words and emotions. Boycott senseless bigotry! #boycottD&G”

Glee creator, Ryan Murphy tweeted, “These designers horrifying views are never in fashion. Their clothes are as uglyas their hate. #BoycottDolceGabbana”

As news of the interview spread, more celebs including Sharon Stone, Ricky Martin, Al Roker, and tennis great Martina Navratilova were supporting John’s argument.

The designers are known for creating controversy.

Nigerian Rapper 2 Shotz and his wife Precious Echeofu have been delivered of a baby girl. Precious gave birth to Ariella in Dublin, Ireland on Thursday, March 12, 2015 where she is based.

Ariella is the Precious’ second child as she has a boy from a previous relationship. The family are said to be elated over the news. 2 Shotz and his wife had a quiet wedding on April 12, 2013 at the Ikoyi Court registry followed by a reception at their home.
