Rebirth Music’s Maxee drops new single ‘blue story’

In a fictional tale of emotion and desire, REBIRTH Music’s rising Nigerian artiste Maxee, popularly known as Mr. National cake, has returned with a brand-new single titled “Blue Story”, a smooth, emotionally charged R&B record that introduces a new dimension to his artistry.

Released on August 1st, 2025, the track serves as the official lead single from his upcoming project and signals a bold reinvention for the singer-songwriter.

Heavily inspired by Chris Brown’s viral hit “Under the Influence,” Blue Story isn’t just a sonic homage, it’s a fully reimagined narrative told through Maxee’s lens, complete with sultry melodies, moody instrumentation, and emotionally rich storytelling.

The track explores fictional themes of temptation, heartbreak, and emotional vulnerability while staying grounded in the Afro-fusion elements that define Maxee’s sound.

“I wanted to create something that mirrors the vibe of “Under the Influence” but tells a different story,” Maxee shares.

‘Blue Story’ is fictional, but the emotion in it is very real. It’s a new direction for me, more refined, more personal, and it is more sonically global.

Born Moses Adelakun in Oyo State, Nigeria, Maxee’s musical journey began in the church, where he started singing at the age of 10. His breakout moment came with the release of “National Cake” a satirical anthem that went viral and earned him a massive online following, including a WhatsApp fan community of over 1,000 listeners.

The nickname “Mr National Cake” stuck, and Maxee quickly became a cultural figure among Nigerian youth for his creativity and relatability.

But with Blue Story, Maxee proves he’s far more than a viral hitmaker, he’s an artist evolving with purpose. A New Era of Afro-R&B

Blue Story Isn’t just a single, it’s a mission statement. With its genre-blending composition and storytelling depth, the track places Maxee firmly in the new wave of African R&B stars pushing sonic boundaries and reaching global audiences. The single is now available on all major streaming platforms.
