  • Aubameyang shows off £1m Ferrari

ARSENAL moved the ball from back to front in just 19 seconds for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score on Monday night – but the truth is the Gunners striker finds such speeds positively pedestrian.

Try the 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds his latest expensive sports car is capable of.

Aubameyang marked his two goals in Arsenal’s win over Leicester City by posing next to a £1million Ferrari ‘LA Ferrari’ – one of the most sought-after cars on the planet.

The Gabon striker entitled his Instagram post simply ‘Good Morning’ as he reveled in his team’s 10th consecutive victory in all competitions under Unai Emery.

The LA Ferrari – which literally means ‘The Ferrari’ – is the Italian marque’s attempt at building the definitive hybrid sports car and just 499 have been made.

All of them sold out before the car was even made available, with each owner parting with £1m or more to own one.

The car bursts with technology borrowed from Ferrari’s Formula One team and its 6.3-litre V12 engine is capable of 950bhp and a top speed of at least 227mph.

An acceleration from standing to 62mph takes less than three seconds and 0-124mph takes under seven seconds.

One F1 reference is that many of the control buttons are mounted on the steering wheel, while the seats and interior have to be custom-sculpted to the individual driver.

Aside from Aubameyang, other LA Ferrari owners include Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton, pop star Justin Bieber and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey.

Instead of prospective buyers coming to Ferrari and writing a cheque, the company actually invited people to come and buy one, usually depending on how many Ferraris they already had in their garage.

Aubameyang is no stranger to sports cars, frequently posting Instagram snaps posed next to them.

The Arsenal forward also had a bit of fun at Mesut Ozil’s expense, by filming the German midfielder watching the goal he scored himself against Leicester, back on social media after the game.

Ozil was having a post-match massage and watching the clip on his phone. Aubameyang accompanied his video with a speech bubble coming from Ozil’s head that read ‘I’m the best’.

  • Aaron Ramsey welcomes twins

DOUBLE trouble! Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey shows off new twins for the first time

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has shown off his newborn twin sons for the very first time.

The 27-year-old and his wife Colleen welcomed two boys on October 16. Names are yet to be announced.

The Wales international wrote ‘double trouble’ alongside the picture he shared with his social media followers (Instagram) on Wednesday.

Ramsey was unable to play for Wales against Ireland – which his side won 1-0 – due to their imminent arrival. He was also absent for Arsenal’s Europa League clash away to Qarabag to be on hand at home.

He returned to action on Monday, coming on as an 80th-minute substitute in Arsenal’s impressive 3-1 win against Leicester at the Emirates stadium.

The arrival of twins provides a welcome distraction for Ramsey from his current contract stand-off with Arsenal.

  • Fashion sense Baba Sala left behind

LONG before the oversize bowtie and big framed sunglasses became a fashion statement, legendary comedian, Moses Olaiya a.k.a. Baba Sala, who passed on early in the week, had rocked them on and off the spotlight.

  • Abdulsalami,Soyinka,Akeredolu,others in BEARD identity

NOBEL laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka, former head of state Abdulsalami Abubakar, veteran actor Pete Edochie, Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and star actor Richard Mofe-Damijo have one obvious thing in common: their perfectly groomed beard. Although they are renowned for their outstanding accomplishments in different fields, their signature beards are as familiar as their names.

It is no secret that long and medium beards have become one of the most popular trends for men. Perhaps because of their ability to change one’s looks and carve a unique kind of identity, more and more men tend to be embracing the idea of wearing a beard.

However, most men above the age of 60 tend to see the idea of keeping and maintaining a beard as a mere waste of time. But not so for these stylish oldies who started keeping their beards in their younger days and have stayed faithful to them.

By sporting and maintaining their enviable beards over the years, they have transformed not just their appearances but their styles, carving peculiar niche for themselves.

The remarkable thing is that there is a beard style for every man. Whatever style you want to rock, whether it is the handsomely rugged one like Soyinka’s or the soft and subtle type like Richard Mofe-Damijo’s, you are sure of an identity that sets you apart from the crowd.

So, young and upwardly mobile men seeking a new look this season can opt for one of these oldies’ looks to redefine their appearance. Whether you choose a short, medium or a long beard, regular maintenance is key.

  • Subomi Balogun, Abiola Dosunmu: Ageless duo in bond with WHITE

SOME say it stands for peace, others say it is a habinger of good luck. Whatever is the case, two ageless celebrities, Otunba Subomi Balogun and Erelu Abiola Dosunmu, appear to have a timeless bond with colour white, particularly with regard to dressing.

For as long as anyone can remember, Otunba Balogun’s peculiar elegant style has been a trendsetter. The 84-year-old founder of one of the nation’s successful banks, is in love with colour white, so much so that he has created with it a unique style that is at once simple and powerful.

A holder of one of the highest traditional titles in Ijebu Kingdom, Otunba Subomi loves to appear at social and corporate functions  in immaculate outfits matched with a long gold necklace and original coral beads. Otunba loves gold jewelries.

It goes without saying that the accompanying accessories accentuate his looks in no small measure. It thus becomes difficult to list fashion trailblazers in Nigeria without a mentioning his name.

After a career that spanned several decades in the banking industry, he has remained a constant feature on the style and social scene, his strength being not necessarily in wearing the coolest trends or something that everyone likes, but appearing in outfits that stand him out. Even in his 80s, he remains a man of impeccable taste and style.

It needs be said that his penchant for good things also rubs off on his choice of vehicles. He will settle for nothing less than the most exclusive of luxury cars: Rolls Royce. At the last count, he has bought 11 custom-built ones from the British auto-maker and delivered directly to his palace in Nigeria by British transport bearers!

Just when you think he has slowed down on fashion, he confounds his numerous admirers by upping the ante such that it would not be out of place to write a book on his staying power.

But he is not alone in terms of style icons that would not go off the radar no matter how many new ones emerge. The Erelu Kuti IV of Lagos, Abiola Dosunmu, is caught in similar fashion. The shrewd businesswoman and socialite is also a lover of white attires.

A classic colossus who has bestridden the Lagos social scene for decades, her white outfits and accessories come in different designs.  In the last three decades, Dosunmu has been one of the stylish Nigerians who have popularised the all-white ensemble and made it a recurring trend.

In addition to sporting an all-white attire on all social and corporate occasions, the tireless fashionista also has a thing for customised white coral beads. The beads and her traditional wear ensemble has a lot to do with her appointment as the 4th Erelu of the Centre of Excellence.

So, when it comes to style inspiration for all-white elegance, no one does it better than Erelu Abiola Dosunmi and Otunba Subomi Balogun. They are unique because there are very few men and women who keep rocking this pattern and yet remain stylish even after they have transcended the league of 60-year-olds.

  • Dele Alli obsessed with video games

DELI ALLI is not only skillful on the football field but also a master at video games.

The Tottenham Hotspur and England star was snapped by his girlfriend, Ruby Mae, playing video games on Tuesday night ahead of the win over Watford in the Carabao Cup.

And the lingerie model poked fun at her beau’s gaming obsession, plastering the geek emoji all over a picture shared in an Instagram story.

Alli was the picture of concentration as he showed off his gear, complete with a headset, microphone and a proper gaming chair.

In April, the 22-year-old displayed his skills for all to see when he streamed himself playing the popular online game Fortnite to over 35,000 people.

Alli even spurned watching Bayern Munich’s Champions League semi-final with Real Madrid that night in order to play his favourite game.

Last month Alli was back on Twitch, playing a beta version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, due for release next month.

Alli regularly references Fortnite in his goal celebrations, including after he scored England’s second goal against Sweden in this year’s World Cup quarter-final. It was popular among the England squad in Russia, with Alli telling The Times he was the best in the squad.

“Just now we played,’ he said. ‘Me, Harry Kane, John Stones and Jamie Vardy against Harry Maguire, Nick Pope, Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier. It was the first to three wins and my team won.’

  • Zidane, wife go RED in London

FRANCE great, Zinedine Zidane and his wife made the most of their trip to London, posing with red telephone boxes and buses.

With his wife already looking great in a red top, Zinedine could soon follow suit and make his stay in England permanent. If he had any spare change he might have used the phone box to give Ed Woodward a call.

Despite leading Real Madrid to a third consecutive Champions League trophy, he was pipped to the Coach of the Year award by fellow countryman Didier Deschamps who led France to World Cup glory in Russia in the summer.

Zidane’s short managerial career has been just as successful as his playing days, winning three Champions League trophies as well as a La Liga title to his name.

Having won it all at Madrid, Zidane stepped down so that he could look for a new challenge. Considering his record, he has been linked with Jose Mourinho’s struggling Manchester United who were knocked out of the Carabao Cup on penalties on Tuesday night by Derby.

However, it now looks like the French manager could cross the pond to America after being linked with the new MLS side, Inter Miami owned by David Beckham.

Beckham and Zidane played together at Real Madrid and could reunite after the pair held talks with Beckham obviously keen to bring a big name manager on board.

However, reports also claimed that Zidane told close friends he expects to be offered the Manchester United job. With things looking even worse for the Red Devils, that looks like a real possibility.
