There are quite a number of high- paying professions in Nigeria but just few are in the top rank by virtue of the income (salary) earned over a period of time by these professionals.
Most of the jobs culled from these professions require one to have exceptional creative skills, technical know-how and expertise, educational degrees and sort of a robust experience.
For a job/profession to be considered as highest-paying, the pay must commensurate with the value offered.
Different variables can be considered in terms of measuring what makes these professions high- paying. Some of them are:

The profession demands one to be extra-ordinary, bold and as such be able to stand out.
· Lecturing: University lecturers are also earning good salaries by virtue of their academic cadres. Those in private universities get more pay for the lecturing service(s) rendered. So don’t be swayed by the saying that “A lecturer reward is in heaven”.

Comedians, Musicians, entertainers, Nollywood actors/actresses all have different strategies to advance their careers. They also get endorsement deals, organise concerts, TV ads and many more.

It should be noted that a very high percentage of wealthy people are business men and entrepreneurs hence, most of them need the expertise of an accountant to keep a track record of financial activities.

The establishment of Western Nigerian Security Network (WNSN) code-named Operation Amotekun, by the Southwest Governors, has been accompanied by fears and misconceptions.
Endorsed by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, it is fashioned to function as a community policing in response to the yearning of the local people.
Amotekun is all but these below:
Regional Police: While the comments are thriving as to whether they will operate as region police, one of the Governors Rotimi Akeredolu has stated that it will not operate as a regional police force, therefore, it is not an idea in the embryo to introduce state police.
“We are not creating a regional police force. We are not oblivious of the steps we must take to have state police.
“Some of us are unapologetic in our belief in state police but we are also-law abiding citizens. We know the lawful steps to be taken to achieve that but that won’t stop us from taking steps to provide security for our people,” the Ondo governor emphasized during the launching on Thursday in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
Alternative to Nigeria Police Force: Amotekun security is not an alternative to the police and therefore, does not possess the constitutional powers vested in the Force alone.
Fear to be used for political purposes: another fear of the critics is channeled towards the potential to be abused or converted as a political instrument for governors’ whims and caprices. Amotekun cannot be deployed Amotekun for political purposes.
While the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission is still working on the grey areas in Amotekun’s operational guidelines, members will be drafted from local hunters, vigilantes and designated members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) as personnel and police.
The headquarters will be in Ibadan and the operation will be controlled from Gbongan in Osun State.

Going out on a date with a crush for the first time can be tasking, as the thoughts of how to appear on the date would be the only thought in mind.
Many people, especially girls, weary themselves with their appearance and comportment, which might lead to the person looking extremely unsettled on the day of the date, which could send wrong signals to the person they are on a date with.
Being real is an attribute everyone must imbibe if you must appear great on a date, avoid fake life, keeping your dress style simple and yet attractive.
Below are five tips on how to look when going on a date:
Be yourself: Being yourself is one of the most important of when considering your appearance when on a date. When going on a date with someone we should always appear real to avoid putting the wrong impression on your crush minds, which might last over time.
Be comfortable: What you wear for a particular date should be comfortable, don’t wear a cloth that will make you adjust yourself every minute. This might make you feel so uncomfortable. When you become so uneasy during a date, the person you’re on a date with might just feel you’re not interested in him or her.
Be simple yet classy: Looking simple does not mean you’ll appear or unkempt. In looking simple, you must appear neat, not with very expensive apparels but with clothing that will suggest modesty and still keep you classy and attractive enough to leave a lasting impact on you crush.
Be honest: As the popular saying goes, “Honesty is the best policy”. Being honest is the best habit you can appear in when on a date, trying to impress will only prove what you’re not, some people feel they might be unacceptable, and so they tell their crush some lies that might later be used against them in future.
Don’t be a talkative: When on a date with someone for the first time, you must avoid talking too much, invest the time you intend using to talk, to study the person (This doesn’t mean you should be quiet while on a date). You must also avoid saying everything you see, you can keep it and discuss about it later on.
Year 2019 was full of many twists and dramas in the Upper Chambers.
Behind the historic moments were some senators that caught the attention of millions of Nigeria.
Here are the senators who courted and hugged controversies in 2019:
Senator Sabi Abdullahi
He was at some point the spokesman of the 8th Senate. The representative of Niger North district is Deputy Chief whip of the Senate. He sponsored the infamous hate speech bill. To make it worse, he proposed death punishment for violators, sparking a lot of outcries across the nation.
Senator Sani Musa
The billionaire businessman – turned- politician got elected in rather controversial circumstances after his party initially denied him the ticket in the primary elections. Having settled into the Red Chamber proposed the social media bill, which many Nigerians condemned as obnoxious.
Senator Dino Melaye
Although he is no more in the Chamber, Senator Dino Melaye succeeded in entertaining Nigerians as usual before he lost out in a fiercely contested rerun election. Loud, abrasive and quite wordy, Melaye could pass for a trade union leader instead of a distinguished senator.
In January, Melaye refused to surrender to the police following an allegation that he shot and almost killed a police officer at a checkpoint in Kogi on July 19, 2018. After laying siege to his apartment in Abuja for days, the controversial senator surrendered to the police on January 4, 2019 after fellow lawmakers persuaded him to resolve the situation with the police amicably.
Not done with his antics, Melaye developed an ailment to perpetually keep himself in ‘sick bed’ to prevent trial. The Police medical team had to give him a clean bill of health and transferred him from an Abuja hospital to the DSS medical facility.
On getting to the DSS hospital, the ‘ailing’ Melaye refused to enter the main building of the centre. The viral photos of Melaye sleeping on the floor within the premises of the DSS hospital painted a picture of a man who enjoys being at the centre of controversies.
In September, when his criminal trial resumed, the ex-Kogi West senator showed up as a stroke patient. He was assisted into the courtroom by two aides, who told the court that the senator could not walk. Melaye’s endless drama hit its climax in November when he lost the rerun of the Kogi West senatorial election to Smart Adeyemi, who he refers to as his political wife.
Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho
The Igala-born senator was largely anonymous during the year under review. While he did not see the need to remain in the background as he has always done, it remains a mystery. Instead, the senator representing Kogi East senatorial district displayed insensitivity by reducing the death of Mrs. Salome Abu, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP women leader in his state as a subject of politicking.
At a time the nation was shell-shocked over the brutal murder of a female politician, Echocho chose to play politics. He exonerated the perpetrators, saying that it was a retaliatory attack that left two others critically injured too.
Senator Elisha Abbo
The Adamawa-born politician started his journey to the Senate on a rather distasteful note. Weeks after the Senate settled down for business, a video of Abbo assaulting a nursing mother surfaced on the internet.
Abbo, who is one of the youngest senators in the 9th Assembly, thoroughly embarrassed himself and the sacred institution he represents. What followed after the video went viral, was at best only fit for comedy shows.
First, the senator vehemently denied the authenticity of the video. When he realised he couldn’t sustain the lie, he apologised to Nigerians in a hurriedly organised press conference. While some Nigerians began to canvass for him to be forgiven, Abbo showed up in court pleading not guilty.
Abbo is one of the youngest senators in the 9th Senate. In the space of one week, Abbo embroiled himself in another controversy when he had an altercation with Mrs. Remi Tinubu, a member of the Senate ad hoc committee investigating the incident between him and the nursing mother.
Tinubu had advised Abbo to comply with the rules of the committee or get suspended after the senator refused to swear an oath. Irked by the statement, Abbo lost it, saying, “I will not sit here and listen to you threaten me with suspension. I am a senator like you. You cannot threaten me with suspension.”
Gone are the days when it’s only the guys that crushes on ladies. These days, ladies also crush on guys. The only difference is that a lady, who is crushing on a guy, could stay crushing for years without making a move. Some will try for months to get the guy’s attention using different methods.
A guy, on the other hand, could make a move on a lady just few weeks of crushing on her. It is therefore essential that a guy makes a move on a lady when he notices that she’s crushing on him. Crushing on the opposite sex isn’t a crime. In fact, it begins from admiring someone’s physique, complexion, friendliness, caring lifestyle, handsomeness, beauty, dentition, endowment, etc. The crime is when you spend your entire time crushing without having the boldness to make a move. You can always seize the opportunity to make a move on your crush when you feel you’re really getting to love the person. In the same vein, you might notice that an opposite sex is always looking at you, checking on you, calling you, gushing over you, buying you gifts and what have you. All these are signs that the person is having a crush on you. After some times, if you notice the person is not bold enough to make a move on you, all you need to do is to remain more free and accommodating around the person. The reason why someone who is crushing on you, might delay in making a move on you, might be as a result of you not being free with them. So, they might feel ashamed if they are eventually turned down. So they prefer to remain in the crushing circle.
Here are sure ways to know someone is crushing on you:
* They checkup on you always: You notice a person checks you up always, a day can’t pass without him or her saying hello to you, either via call or text messages. This kind of person is a potential crush. If you think you like the person also, try to always reciprocate on days the person doesn’t call or text. This way, you’ll keep the crushing alive but if you don’t return phone calls or text or you ignore his or her call, you will only end up chase away a potential partner. * They borrow something from you: Sometimes a crush who you just met might want to strike continual communication, and might just look for something to borrow from you as an excuse to see you again. As a student in a lecture room, you might sit next to someone who has a crush on you, and after the lecture, the person will want to borrow your lecture note, just as a way of seeing you again. This happened to me personally in church. * They comment on all your social media posts: A crush might feel the best way to get your attention is by always commenting on your posts on social media, especially photos you post. Some will deliberately tell you they will use the photos as their wallpaper or save it on their phone. When you notice that someone is always commenting on every post you make, it is a sign someone is loving you secretly. * They pay attention when you talk: You might have noticed how a particular person pays attention to you when you guys are having a conversation. Even when they have their phones with them, and someone is even trying to chat them up they rather pay full attention to you. * They spend longer hours with you: They don’t rush to leave when they visit, they wish like staying with you for longer hours. Not because of your money but they just feel so relax while with you. This is because they’ll start missing you the very moment they leave your house. * They make you notice their presence: This happens all the time. They sight you and immediately start trying to get your attention either by walking in front of you or coming to you to ask a question they probably know. Sometimes on a bus, a lady who admires a guy sitting next to her, might want to strike a conversation by asking where a particular bus-stop is or how much the transport fare is. It may also happen in places like church, school, workplace where you’ll notice someone who is continuously starring at you, this is just a way to get your attention. * They feel shy when with you: It has been proven that someone who are really crushing on you might eventually get shy when they get to meet you. They feel nervous and might try to hide their feelings. * They buy you gifts: They see buying you things as a way of getting to you, they pay for stuffs you buy even without your knowledge.
There is no fight quite like a celebrity social media battle. This is because the entertainment industry is full of fun, excitement and controversies.
Nigerian celebrities, just have their way of giving us topics to talk about.
Here is looking at biggest Nigerian celebrities fight that shook social media:
* Liz Anjorin and Toyin Abraham
This could have been tagged one of the biggest and most talked-about celebrity feuds in recent times.
It all seemed like a movie especially since they are actresses.
Anjorin took to her Instagram page and accused Abraham of filing report against her to Saudi Arabian authorities that she (Anjorin) was trafficking cocaine, which led to her being searched at the airport, claiming that Abraham often opened fake social media pages to criticise her colleagues online.
Reacting through her lawyers, Abraham warned Liz to take down her posts and apologise or risk being sued.
When many thought Anjorin was going to end it all at that point, her lawyers also responded and threatened to counter-sue Abraham.
Anjorin maintained that Toyin had her new baby at a traditional birth attendant’s place while Abraham released a video showing her in a Lekki-Lagos hospital, in what seemed to be shortly after she was delivered of her son.
The President of the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan, aka Mr Latin, had to come out publicly to caution them to stop the ‘warfare’ on social media.
Speaking in a video broadcast shared on social media, Latin said: “From today, any of you (Toyin or Liz) that posts anything on Instagram, whether positive or negative, the industry will penalise such person. Enough is enough; it’s getting out of hand. Liz Anjorin and Toyin Abraham, this is the last warning– if you post anything, you won’t like what will happen.”
* Tiwa Savage and Charles Anazodo
Nigerians will not forget in a hurry the feud between ace singer Tiwa Savage and football analyst, Charles Anazodo.

The singer, without wasting time in replying Anazodo, said: “Firstly, I’m sure you saw me rushing to the studio because I was late for my interview, plus I had a hat on. Secondly, I’m glad I didn’t say hi because who are you to think you can’t say hi first”.
The verbal exchange continued as Anazodo responded to the tweet, saying, “I’m nobody– just another human being. Cheers”.
This generated lots of reactions from Nigerians on social media.
* MI and Vector
MI and Vector are two talented rappers. Their fans often compare them to each other.
The fight between the duo was a really big one that had social media talking especially Twitter.
On August 30, 2018, during a radio interview, Vector reacted to MI’s song titled, ‘You Rappers Should Fix up Your Lives.’ Vector maintained that MI was wrong to have condemned Nigerian rappers in the song.
In 2019, MI threw a jab at Vector on a song titled ‘Martell Cypher’.
This, however, led to Vector ‘dissing’ MI on the track, ‘The Purge’.
Thereafter, MI directly fired ‘shots’ at Vector in the ‘diss’ track dedicated to him and titled, ‘The Viper’.
In the song, MI branded Vector a snake, stating that he (Vector) allowed bitterness to consume him.
The fight didn’t end there as Vector decided to fire back at MI in the song, ‘Judas the Rat’, where he claimed MI was responsible for the failure of Jesse Jagz’s music career.
His lyrics stated: “Jesse Jagz, you’re my buddy. I couldn’t do this in a hurry but the truth about your brother has been blurry. So, sometime in this sermon, I will say some uncomfortable facts to show his fans their GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) is really a rat. Let’s start the lecture…”
* Naira Marley and Ruggedman
Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley is one of Nigeria’s rave of the moments. The young artiste was always uploading videos on his Instagram handle about the wrongs of special internet fraud security systems, EFCC and SARS.
This over time has made him step on toes due to his controversial ‘support’ of internet fraud
This was what caused the clash between him and veteran artiste rugged man.

Naira Marley was finally arrested and the case is still ongoing. This fight rocked social media and got Nigerians talking.
* Eniola Badmus and Uche Ogbodo
Just a week after actress Uche Ogbodo publicly body-shamed her colleague Eniola Badmus, Ogbodo shared series of sensual pictures to celebrate her birthday.
Reacting to the pictures, Badmus condemned Ogbodo, saying that despite the provocative nature of the pictures, they didn’t get her the attention she desired.
Eniola wrote on her Instagram: “Uche Ogbodo– joker, you were pulling me down on Instablog like you were the greatest .Women supporting women is not in your dictionary”.
This is also one fight that got Nigerians talking.
* Tacha and Mercy
Just exactly 10 days to the end of the popular reality TV show Big Brother Naija 2019, controversial housemate Tacha and Mercy got into a really serious fight.
The two were at each other’s throats, exchanging invective till Mercy flipped her hair towards Tacha and she (Tacha) pulled Mercy’s hair.

Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, former Edo State governor and national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), remains in the eye of the storm. Will he triumph over his traducers and keep his job?
In the last six months, the APC top seat has been hot for him. He is facing battles on many fronts from his party men.
Some members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Working Committee (NWC) want him out for what they describe as his high- handedness.
But, he beats them to their plots as majority pass a vote of confidence in him through their signatures on the loyalty form.
Oshiomhole’s sin, according to his critics, is that he runs a one-man show, sometimes, not even from the party secretariat, but from his private office.
He is also under fire for not calling meetings regularly and not filling vacant positions of Deputy National Chairman (South) vacated by Minister of Trade and Investment Adeniyi Adebayo and National Secretary vacated by Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni.
During the last NEC meeting, majority of chairmen of state chapters foiled a plot to rusticate him. Contrary to the intention of the ‘coup plotters,’ he was given a clean bill of health amid the tension that engulfed the meeting.
Oshiomhole is also facing heat from the local chapter of the party in his home state, Edo, where many of his loyalists have deserted him. Factional chairman of Edo APC, Anselm Ojezua, placed him on suspension, following the protracted feud between him and Governor Godwin Obaseki.
APC governors, who are said to be locked in 2023 permutations, have taken sides in the Edo imbroglio. To them, Oshiomhole’s cup is full and he should therefore go.
The governors are the main power bloc in the ruling party. Yet, they failed in their desperate and determined effort to oust him. Their game plan was to get the endorsement of the national party leader, President Muhammadu Buhari, for their plot. But the masterminds could not get a quorum.
While Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu and his Kaduna counterpart, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai, were believed to be the architects, Governors Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun and Baba Gana Zulum of Borno State refused to support the ‘coup.’
Opinion is still divided on the push for Oshiomhole’s resignation. If Oshiomhole is prevailed upon or pressurised to resign, who succeeds him?
Oshiomhole, a former Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) leader, can only sleep with one eye closed. The forces against him are formidable. A source said the tempo of agitations for his removal may be sustained till the party’s mid-term non-elective convention.
But, it appears that he may wax stronger ahead of the judgment day. For example, following the lifting of suspension on notable stalwarts recently, a rapprochement is being brokered between Oshiomhole and Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), an ardent critic of the chairman, by credible Southwest APC chieftains.
Akeredolu, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and Ibikunle Amosun were suspended for anti-party activities during the last elections. They allegedly sponsored governorship and parliamentary candidates on the platforms of opposition parties against the APC standard bearers. However, the suspension produced a weak consequence as it did not diminish the status of the suspended leaders.
Why the war against Oshiomhole may be sustained and predicated on that fact, with him in the saddle, he remains a big obstacle to the 2023 calculations of anti-presidential zoning elements.
On assumption of office, the chairman said he will not merely warm the number one party seat. He has often asserted his authority and insisted on party supremacy and discipline. But, on some occasions too, his actions were devoid of tact. Oshiomhole is believed to be combative. It may have become his undoing. He seems to lack the skill to handle his colleagues in the party who are governors and former governors.
But recently, not only did the party retain Kogi, it also won the governorship poll in Bayelsa.
Will the chairman survive the sustained antagonism by the powerful forces in his party?
The onus is on Oshiomhole to demonstrate courage. It is not by soft peddling on his avowed commitment to party supremacy and discipline.
But, he should try to pacify the aggrieved, pursue reconciliation and convince critical stakeholders that his actions are geared towards party’s interest.
