  • Six surefire ways to deal with a jealous partner

Six surefire ways to deal with a jealous partner

Typically jealousy can be quite flattering especially when it’s from a partner, but the reality is that, after a while, dealing with a jealous person can get quite difficult and frustrating. Learning ways to deal with a jealous person can help you to eventually establish a healthy relationship with the person. Here are  6 ways to deal with a jealous person.

Try To Understand the Reason for Their Jealousy

This largely involves trying to understand the specific triggers, reasons or roots for feelings of jealousy in the person that will help you effectively deal with the situation. Basically what you should eventually understand is that the jealousy of a friend or partner isn’t particularly motivated by who you are but by something you possess that they either wish was theirs or they could keep all to themselves (i.e. unwilling to share with any other).

    Try To Avoid Pampering Them

You should be understanding to the person quite alright, but try to avoid responding to and validating the feelings of jealousy your friend or partner has. This doesn’t mean you should ignore the person or ignore the fact that they are jealous, but more like you should not let the fact that they are jealous dictate and control your actions and reactions towards them.

    Avoid Their Jealousy Triggers

In trying to understand the reason for their jealousy, once you have been able to identify certain things you do or certain situations that trigger or incite feelings of jealousy in a friend or partner, as much as you can, try to avoid doing those things amidst them or being in those kinds of situations with them.

    Talk to the Person

Talk to the person and be open about your feelings (however, be careful with your words and don’t be insulting or caustic with your words in the name of being truthful). Communicate to the person about certain behaviours they exhibit when jealous that bothers you, how you feel about them, how they affect you as an individual and how they affect your relationship with the person. Sometimes a jealous person is unaware of their irrational behaviours, so you have to gently and patiently communicate this.

Distinguish Between Relationship Abuse and Jealousy

There is quite a thin line between these two so you have to be careful and meticulous with this one. Be vigilant and sure that the jealousy of this person has not escalated to some kind of emotional abuse to you. Once physical abuse has begun that’s all the sign you need and will ever need to leave immediately.

Try to Address the Person’s Insecurities and Trust Issues

The only thing that can truly help a jealous person get better is when he/she is able to effectively deal with their insecurities or trust issues. This is because insecurities and trust issues are the underlying causes of feelings of jealousy. For trust issues, both of you can try to take active roles in building trust in the relationship by simply deciding to trust one another no matter what. Insecurities require a bit more effort but once the triggers of the insecurities are identified, it’s possible to effectively deal with and overcome the insecurities.

    ·       Never Do Anything Bad For Fame

At the beginning, Naira Marley looked like he was enjoying the fame and the attention he was getting from every of his comments on yahoo-yahoo so he feels he was above the law.

What profits Naira Marley to gain fame and lose his own freedom?

He’s been to prison, got his name tainted, embellished in the mud, got negative attention to his career. Yeah, he might pull through with this eventually and be free.

What if he had decided to mind his business and kept quiet, the moment he felt he is about to be treated like Fela, Mandela and President Kennedy who were even fighting for the right cause.

EFCC just had to utilise the whole scenario to prove a point so people won’t say they are afraid of entertainers.

Naira got the fame, got the clout, fed from the popularity of Internet fraud to his advantage. At the end of the day, it got him into trouble for him he was mentoring other Nigerian youths who wants to pay attention to him Naira Marley.

    ·       There Are Consequences For All Our Actions

Naira Marley‘s ordeal teaches us that whatever we are going through now is as a result of the choices and actions we’ve done in the past.

If Naira Marley had focused on next big music project after having successful Marlian Concert, God knows he wouldn’t have been detained.

Whatever actions you take now, know that there are going to be consequences for it later. So, always do what is right.

Naira Marley did not only give himself bad reputation, he has jeopardized his career.

    ·       Never Support Internet Fraud

As a popular singer, Naira Marley would not have stood so low to take to his verified social media handles preaching to the world that internet fraud is a legit Business.

If a friend is trying to lure you into such act, you should be bold enough to say No to internet fraud because when you steal from someone is a big sin before God.

Anything you steal or take by force won’t last. Say No to evil, Say no to fraud. Avoid destroying your image before the world because you can never turn the hand of time.

If you don’t fight the law, the law won’t fight you. Nigerian youths don’t want to work anymore. They prefer keeping sleepless nights, hunting for white clients to scam while some have gone to the extent of engaging in rituals for Yahoo Plus also known as “Do Like I Say.”

  • Four interesting things African parents do

African parents are gifts that keep up on giving – they are loving, there are tough, they are inspiring and can sometimes drive you crazy (then again, all parents, regardless of race or ethnicity, are all guilty of this), but we can’t deny that they are the absolute best. Here are four interesting things African parents do.

Calling their children from far away to hand them things less than a meter away

Okay, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it’s not uncommon for African parents to ask their children to do things they can easily do themselves, or send their children on errands they can easily go on themselves. They argue that the point of this is to teach their children duty and responsibility, and considering how resourceful African children eventually become, African parents just might be onto something.

Prohibiting children from calling elders by their first names

In African homes, it is considered disrespectful for children to call an elder by their first name, and African parents are zealous in ensuring such disrespect does not occur in their homes. It is more appropriate for children to address elders as ‘uncle’ or ‘aunty’ (though the children might have no familial ties or relation with the person). In less Afrocentric homes, the children are allowed to address elders with ‘mr’, ‘miss’, ‘mrs’, ‘sir’, ‘ma’ or ‘madam’ in addition to their actual names, but never with just their names.

Speaking to their children in proverbs and metaphors

This is done often by African parents when they are upset or dissatisfied with the actions of their child/children. African parents use the proverbs and/or metaphors to better drive home their point to their children, and ring a note of warning and/or caution. If an African parent speaks to their child/children with a proverb and/or metaphor, they mean business and it’s definitely not something to be taken lightly.

They seldom admit they are wrong

For some reason, African parents seldom admit they are wrong. They might acknowledge they have erred through their actions, but they will hardly ever verbalize it or apologize for it. It is difficult to understand, but some argue that it might have something to do with the fact that they believe that admitting their faults and verbally apologizing to their children will put the respect the children have for them at risk, and humanize them to the point of possibly losing the respect of their children.

  • Four ways to start a business without money

It might surprise you to know that there are actually ways to start a business with little or no money. Below are four ways to start a business without money.

Adjust your business model to demand fewer needs

If you can start your business as a sole employee please do so, pending when you are able to raise enough money to employ other professionals. Also, save the cost of getting and maintaining an office space by working from home, if having an office space is not vital to getting your business up and running. In addition, try to make your company more service-oriented because this kind of business requires little or no financial investment; all you really need are your skills and you can immediately get started providing these services. When you start getting some money, you can use the extra revenue to then grow and establish your business.

Get friends and family to help

Tell your friends, family and even past colleagues about your business and get them to help spread word about your business; this can serve as free marketing and publicity for your business. Encourage as many of them as possible to share your posts about your business on their social media profiles, and to also introduce your brand to their professional contacts. This will help serve as a kind of grassroots marketing that will spread word about your company and introduce it to a larger audience.

    Avoid unnecessary expenses

Considering you are trying to start a business without money, you need to be as frugal as possible. Leverage on your relationships with people and try to get as much as you can for free, at least until you are able to start making some extra revenue to afford better for your business. Please note that as frugal as you are going to need to be, you should be careful not to let that compromise the quality of your services. This is why you really need to leverage on your business and even personal relationships, so you can get the help and professional input of these people for free (at least until you are able to make enough extra revenue to pay for their services).

Ensure your payment policy is well thought out

This is the problem a lot of startups face; they don’t have a good payment policy. As a result, people take advantage of this weakness to either delay payments or avoid paying for the services all together. Avoid basing your payment policy on what you think your customers want or will be comfortable with, base it on what is going to make your business operate successfully. This is because, after all said and done, it’s not your payment policy that will keep people coming back for more, it’s the quality of your service. Therefore, you should not compromise your service quality and business operation, for an unfavorable payment policy.

  • President Buhari at OIC: Facts Nigerians need to know, by Garba Shehu

On Friday, President Muhammadu Buhari delivered the address of 16 African nations who are members of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), making it the third time a Nigerian leader will speak at the OIC. Late President of Nigeria, Alhaji Umaru Yar’Adua and his successor, Dr Good luck Jonathan had attended previous meetings.

The just concluded 2019 meeting held in Makka, Saudi Arabia, is significant as it marked the 50th anniversary of the organization.

As with most issues in Nigeria, there will always be individuals and groups who will disagree with the President. For some, there are good reasons for doing this while for others it is like sports; they enjoy going the opposite direction. And for another set, it is personal. No matter what President Buhari does, they will never be pleased with him.

When the President decided to attend the OIC meeting, he knew some people will raise dust. But guided by the overall national interest, which always governs his actions, he preferred not to worry about the storms. The criticisms of his attendance by some, including cultural organization, Ohaeneze and Christian Association of Nigeria are not new or unexpected. For those who know President Buhari, these tantrums don’t make him angry, in the full understanding that when the critics take time to read or see the outcomes, they too will be glad that the decision taken to be present at the key strategic gathering.

Interestingly, the major takeaways from this meeting were concerns expressed daily by Church leaders and Imams. The issues deal directly with safety, peace and prosperity of the nation and its citizens.

It is noteworthy that President Buhari, leading other African leaders, got key support for many issues of concern or interest to Nigeria and African continent at the meeting. Top on the list is strong condemnation of terrorist acts. The meeting agreed that fighting terrorism is a major priority, resolving to work together to “prevent and suppress terrorist acts through strong international solidarity and cooperation in full recognition of the UN’s central role in that regard.”

In the specific case of countries of Lake Chad Basin facing “grave security challenges and vicious insurgency arising from Boko Haram terrorism and insurgency,” members agreed to increase humanitarian aid. To this end, the regional humanitarian office of the OIC in Niamey, Niger Republic will be upgraded to a Regional Representative Mission to “mobilize political commitment and undertake development and humanitarian activities.”

President Buhari equally got reassuring support for recharging of Chad Basin, a goal he has consistently promoted on the global stage. The Lake had shrunk to 10 per cent of its size due to effects of climate change, with dire economic consequences for many. The OIC members assured that they will support the ongoing project of recharging the lake, in view of the socioeconomic benefits to neighbouring countries.

Reducing poverty and hunger was also discussed extensively. Members saw the need, and made strong commitments to assisting less privileged member-countries to tackle poverty and hunger. To this effect, members that had not pledged to the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development were asked to do so and those that pledged contributions deemed to be low in view of current reality were requested to increase.

The solidarity fund aims to reduce poverty among member-states by “promoting pro-poor development and human development.” The Islamic Organisation for Food Security was charged to address challenges of agriculture, rural development and food insecurity. Soon, there will be a framework for development of OIC renewable energy in terms of both access and distribution.

Another important achievement by the African group in particular was by way of establishing an economic assistance program for them and other less privileged OIC countries to cope with economic development challenges. In area of finance, development and trade, the meeting commended the Islamic Development, IDB, for the model it operates that promotes competitive development among members, developing infrastructure and promoting the private sector.

Going forward, OIC members agreed to boost trade with a target of 25 per cent trade exchange. To push this, a frame work for Trade Preferential System will be worked out.

Another vision of President Buhari which got attention and support at the 14th Summit in Makkah is on environment. Members will promote environmental education because it will help countries to deal with degradation. The meeting agreed that this will also raise health standards.

The OIC meeting encouraged members to take necessary steps in promoting science, technology and innovation “with the aim of addressing global challenges linked to issues of environment, climate change, human health, energy sources and water resources.” The summit agreed to hold a second science and technology summit in 2020 at Uzbekistan.

At the conclusion of the meeting, there was a resolution to support the “G5” Sahel countries (Niger, Chad, Mali, Burkina Faso and Mauritania, established in 2014) in their efforts to fight terrorism and ensure development.

In an age in which the leading religious establishments are fighting moral decadence and collapse of marriage institution, the OIC meeting, understandably agreed “to promote family welfare, preserve values of marriage and family institutions. To achieve this, new strategies will be worked out for marriage and family institution empowerment and value preservation.”

Nigeria, a country with bubbling and versatile cultural heritage, stands to gain from measures that will support cinematic productions, including a planned launching of an OIC film festival. In this regard, the leaders commended the Secretariat for the initiative of the OIC Film Award for Peace and Co-existence which debuted in February this year at the African Film and TV Festival at Ouagadougou, Mali.

The leaders accepted a recommendation by the Council of Foreign Ministers for the setting up of a unit for youth issues that will focus mainly on their empowerment.

There was a landmark adoption of a plan for women advancement with implementation mechanisms. There will be an OIC Women Consultative Council that would, among other issues, seek to strengthen the marriage institution, and discourage marriage of underage girls.

The robust, and well attended meeting, touched economic and social issues affecting members, relying on the strength of collective efforts to find immediate and lasting solutions. The meeting agreed to come together and end terrorism; support members that are behind in economy and development; empowerment of youths through knowledge and entrepreneurship, and advance the cause of women.

Other significant gains include discouraging marriage of underage girls; increasing trade and investment; promoting science, technology and innovation; promoting culture; financing development and preserving the marriage institution. Arresting climate change, sustaining advocacy on the issue of Palestine, and working together for peace, security and co-existence were also addressed.

Given their antecedents and predispositions, critics weren’t prepared for these laudable outcomes. With the facts now made available, they should withdraw accusing finger and accept the President’s participation as important for the country, and the continent. It is not late to reverse their merciless criticism. Surely, the outcomes have justified the journey in so many ways, and time will tell.

  • Six things to know about unrest in Sudan

Weeks after the removal of Omar al-Bashir as the president of Sudan, the fight for civilian rule continues as the Transitional Military Council (TMC) refuses to give in to the protesters’ demand to hand over power.

The TMC, led by Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, says it will oversee a transitional period that will last a maximum of two years.

Amid continuing protests, security forces are doing everything possible to end a sit-in protest in the capital, Khartoum.

Here are six things to know about the unrest:

    Why did the protests begin?

A wave of demonstrations began across much of Sudan on December 19 over soaring bread prices, a result of a deep economic crisis that started when the southern part of the country seceded after a referendum in 2011, taking oil wealth with it.

The protests started in Atbara, a city in northeastern Sudan known to be a stronghold for anti-government activities.

Several thousand people took to the streets after the government tried to end the bread shortages.

As a result of the measures, the price of some bread tripled and although there had been bread queues for months, people were angry about the price rise.

The authorities quickly changed the policy and scrambled to crush the protests, declaring a state of emergency in Atbara and imposing a curfew from 6:00pm to 6:00am.

But the protests had already spread to the Red Sea city of Port Sudan and to Gadarif in the southeast, before reaching the capital, Khartoum.

Protesters were also angered by cash shortages due to restrictions on withdrawals aimed at keeping money in the banks, which themselves are struggling to find cash.

But what started as a protest about living conditions turned into one about the government of al-Bashir.

    How did the protests evolve?

The demonstrations quickly morphed into growing anti-government rallies demanding al-Bashir’s resignation.

The Sudanese Professionals Association (SPA), an umbrella coalition for professional unions, led calls for marches towards the presidential palace, demanding that al-Bashir step down immediately.

Trade unions and professional associations also called for nationwide strikes that saw the participation of a large number of doctors, journalists, lawyers and pharmacists from across Sudan.

Political parties then joined in, and influential sections within the military refused to take part in the repression, forcing the government to eventually cede power.

Protesters adopted slogans used during the Arab Spring of 2011 and gathered outside the headquarters of the military in the capital and refused to move.

The protests reached a climax on the symbolic date of 6 April – the anniversary of a 1985 non-violent uprising that removed Jaafar Nimeiri.

    Who are the protesters?

Sudanese from all walks of life have taken part in the demonstrations but the main organiser has been the SPA, which is a coalition of several professional unions that bring together doctors, lawyers and journalists.

There has been a high percentage of women among the protesters, with the image of Alaa Salah, a 22-year-old woman clad in white standing atop a car in April, becoming a symbol of demonstrations.

    How did al-Bashir respond?

The Sudanese government responded by promising to carry out economic reforms to “ensure a decent living for citizens”.

However, al-Bashir, who was at the helm since 1989, refused to step down, while security forces continued to crack down on activists and protesters.

As protesters continued their demonstrations across Sudanese cities, al-Bashir announced a one-year state of emergency on February 22.

The presidential decree banned protests, public gatherings and political activities. It also gave the police and security forces more power to monitor individuals and to carry out inspections.

Under the emergency laws, security forces were allowed to detain suspected individuals and seize private property if they believed it was being used to plan political activities.

Meanwhile, the Sudanese forces have been blamed for a rising death toll amid the increasing number of protesters’ arrest.

In early April, the interior ministry said 39 people, including three security personnel, had died since protests began last year. A spokeswoman for SPA put the death toll at nearly 70.

Special emergency courts established to prosecute people arrested for participating in demonstrations saw hundreds of protesters placed on trial after al-Bashir imposed state of emergency.

What role has the military played?

Al-Bashir was removed by the military on April 11 after ruling the country for nearly three decades.

In the immediate aftermath of the announcement that al-Bashir had been replaced by a military council, demonstrators called on people to continue with the sit-ins.

The military council, led by Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, came to power a few days after al-Bashir was overthrown. Al-Burhan promised to oversee a transitional period that will last a maximum of two years.

Demonstrators, however, accused the coup leaders of being close to al-Bashir and implicated in the problems that people were demonstrating about.

They continued to demand that the country’s military ruler immediately hand over power to a civilian-led government.

    What is Sudan’s revolutionary history?

Sudan has witnessed two previous revolutions since its independence in 1953.

The popular uprisings of 1964 and 1985 saw the participation of students, trade unions and professional organisations.

After political parties joined the protests and influential sections within the military refused to take part in the repression, the regime stepped down and a peaceful transition followed.

Unlike the current unrest, both revolutionary movements were led by mostly urban, professional elites.

  • Why hair relaxer is dangerous for children

Parents should desist from using relaxers on their children’s hair due to health hazards associated with it, Adanna Enwezor, convener of The African Hair Summit says.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, Enwezor noted that mothers especially should be good role models for their children and show them the benefits of keeping natural hair.

According to her, having her hair burnt by a texturiser when she was pregnant a few years ago, led her to research on the dangers of relaxers on hair and skin.

Enwezor said she found out that so many diseases were linked to relaxers which inspired her to start the African Hair Summit, to sensitise Africans on the health benefits of keeping natural hair.

She added that it was hurtful to see young children dragged to have their hair relaxed and recalled her own experience as a young girl who wanted to have her mother’s kind of relaxed hair.

She said, “I agree that the home is a very crucial place. I remember when I was growing up, I had very long natural hair and when I got into secondary school, I decided to relax my hair.

“This was because my friends all had relaxed hair and I wanted to be like them.Again, because my mum’s hair was relaxed, I was under pressure.

“I remember her asking me not to relax my hair and I pointed out hers. Every mother should know that your children look up to you so much and you have no idea how much they want to be like you,” she said.

Enwezor told NAN that the 2019 African Hair Summit will strongly focus on getting more women to understand the benefits of natural hair, so their children could learn from them.

She said, “so we are really pulling in a way to get in more women organisations involved and we are hoping that through these organisations, we can also reach out to a lot of women.

“We want to have them come to the event, learn and embrace healthy life choices that can be mirrored by their children.

“This year, we are also working with schools. Last year, we had a couple of schools at the summit.

“We want the children to see firsthand that this is a big deal and it is an event to be natural, to embrace our roots.

“It is now something worth celebrating and we want them to come and join in this celebration of our culture, we as a people.

“It is something that is at the forefront of our thinking at this point. We are engaging them young and we are also looking for ways to bring in the parents as well,” Enwezor said.

NAN reports that the African Hair Summit is the biggest gathering of natural hair ethusaists in Africa.

The 2019 edition will have Ifu-Ennada, Dakore Egbuson-Akande and Michelle Ntalami as envoys. Also, Nike Oshinowo is a patron and panelist.

The summit will hold on June 14 and June 15 in Abuja. A pre-event health walk is billed to take place on June 8.

  • Do not respond to That Mail

Have you ever received mails from individuals or organizations you have never had any dealing with offering you huge amount of money for a lottery you didn’t enter for or an opportunity to share in the money of a deceased person?

Chances are that you have if you are a regular internet user. These kinds of mail are from fraudsters and you should never be tempted to respond to them if you don’t want to lose your hard earned money to them.

A very common one is a mail from a non-existing international lottery organization informing you that your e mail address was picked in an end of the year promo. The mail will be so real that it contains your winning numbers and your email address to authenticate it, but it is 419.

You will be requested to send your personal information such as your name, phone number, address and your bank details to another email address.

If you respond and show interest in claiming the money you have supposedly won, you will be asked to send money (transfer charges) in order to facilitate the transfer to the designated bank you have provided. A few days later, you will receive another mail from that same individual giving you reasons why your money is still on hold telling you to send them additional money ranging from $150 – $350.

Please take note that if any monetary transfer is to be done, the sender should bear all costs of transfer. No courier company or bank will ask you to send money them money before your fund can be transferred. Beware!

Another mail you should avoid replying to is one from any individual who claims to have a huge sum of money amounting to millions of dollars trapped in a foreign bank account asking you to be his partner so that the money can be transferred to your account and after the transfer, it will be shared 60% for him and 40% for you.

An attempt to cooperate with such individual might get you into trouble or you might end up being defrauded.

There is another mail that looks real but not from an authorized source. Sometimes, the mail comes with subject : from the World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF), FBI or big banks from Asia and sometimes from the United States Ambassador to your country. Fraudster use names of these international organizations to dupe people.

A typical example of such mail is this one from Barclays Bank London “This is to officially bring to your notice that your fund placed on hold by Barclays Bank London has been approved for the release today after a long time investigations by the House of Lords committee on terrorism and fraud. Your fund is now free to be released to you without any further delay. Kindly forward your information to …………where you want the funds to be transferred.”

Another example was the one purportedly sent by management of Guarantee Trust Bank, imploring customers to update their security information.

    “Dear Customer,

This is to notify you of the present upgrading to enhance effective self security on your account.

Follow the link below to start the self security on your account

We are sorry for any inconveniences.

    Security Advisor

There are others that solicited funds from unsuspecting members of the public for one reason or the other.

Such mails are sent by those who hacked into email addresses of organizations or private individual.

One of such mails was sent by unknown persons that used the Yahoo ID of a top member of the management team of a notable media organisation in Nigeria.

It reads: “I hope you are doing well.

I made an emergency trip to new york unfortunately my niece had a nearly fatal accident yesterday night and needs to undergo surgery which needs 147,000 naira to start the treatment on her.

Please Can you to lend me some quick funds that I can give back as soon as i come back next week. Sorry for the inconvenience but i heard she is in a very bad condition and needs attention as fast as possible.

I can forward you details on how to pay the funds to her. You can only reach me via my email for now.

    I await your quick response….”

Instead of thinking that your breakthrough has finally come when you receive fraudulent mails like the above your best bet is to hit the delete button to avoid being tempted.

  • How to stay safe during rainy season

The rains have come for us all. And as soothing as they can be, they can also be unrepentant and on the far side, deadly. It is up to you to prepare adequately and so as to have a wonderful rainy experience. Here are tips on how to be on the safe side on a rainy day:

    Get an umbrella

The funny thing about this is that we all know this but procrastination can get the better of us.  Well, now is the time to get a good umbrella. You can get a foldable one if you are not a fan of carrying load about. But by all means, get an umbrella.

    Raincoats are not bad too

As a matter of fact, raincoats are less stressful to carry about and are very good alternatives to umbrellas. They can even protect your documents and phones. You should invest in them.

    Your feet need protecting too

Do get rubber shoes and sandals during this season. They are less expensive and can save you damaging your very expensive shoes leaving your feet sad. All you need to do is buy a rubber shoe and use when the rains come. Your feet and your shoes will thank you for it.

    Fix your roof

If your roof is leaking, get it fixed up. Rains can come unawares and you may not be around to put a bucket under the leaking roof. Fixing it now might just save you the stress of returning home to a flooded home.

    Close all windows before leaving

Make sure your windows are shut before leaving the office or home. It will prevent the rain from inviting itself into your home or office.

    Clear the drainage

Although it can be stressful to continually clear the drainage, it is important. Remove bottles and plastic bags that hinder the free flow of water. You just might save someone from falling into the drainage.

Avoid riding bikes when rain starts

This is for all Okada lovers. Bikes are harder to control during a downpour and especially on sloppy roads. It is best to wait until after the rains subside. But if you must, opt for tricycles or a vehicle.

    Slow down when driving

Please and please, slow down while driving during a downpour. Getting to watch that football match or overtaking just for the fun of it is not worth the possibility of a loss of life. Cars easily skid off the road during showers of rain because of slippery roads and an obscure view.

    Be careful of portholes

For drivers, be very careful when driving on unfamiliar roads. If possible, do not plight unfamiliar roads during a heavy rain. Flooding on the road can cause portholes to be covered up and eventually deceive drivers. This is a major cause of accidents during the rainy season. Do not be a victim.

Now you know what to do to adequately prepare for the rains so you can smile and enjoy the rains as they pour.
