GeNs@gtbank.com: Fraudulent bank alert to be careful of

Fraudsters have taken another turn in the game of defrauding innocent but unsuspecting Nigerians of their hard earned currencies by sending transaction messages and demanding a follow-up within 24Hours.

If you have an account with Guaranty Trust Bank (at least the ones concerned so far) this message is for you. Beyond GTB, this is pertinent to everyone who saves money or other valuables in the bank.

Recently, fraudsters have grown even smarter by using disguised email name like GeNs@gtbank.com, udirect@ubagroup.com, diamondbank@diamondbank.com to send initiated debit transaction from the victim’s account and further ask for other details.

Some customers of GTBank have fallen victim of this fraudulent message. In fact, other people who do not bank with GTB, like a colleague who got his message from mny@inetlab.net under the disguise of GeNs@gtbank.com, also received the message.

Concerned banks so far, include, Access Bank Plc, Diamond Bank, GTBank, UBA and StanbicIBTC

Read the experience of an individual who fell victim below:

This happened to me OluwaDamilola Ayomi Olatunbosun (ayomiessentials) a few hours ago (now weeks). I got an email from GTB (my one and only bank) some hours ago that I was debited 14,500 for a bulletin I subscribed for, the email further read I should click a link to oblige and another link below to decline, I clicked on the link to decline cos the mail read it will be assumed that I agreed to the terms and conditions if I don’t respond to the mail in 12hrs…

I clicked on the link to decline the offer since I don’t want my 14,500 to be debited for some magazine I didn’t subscribe for (note that I got these same email last week and I got tried calling GTBank customer service that day, I gave up after wasting about 600naira worth of airtime, I felt the need to respond when if got the message today again)….

Lo and behold the link took me to my Internet banking page, it requested that I enter my log in details which I did…the page requested I answer my test question which I did 1st then entered my 6 digits token code which Is usually requested when doing online banking.

Almost immediately I filled the form, the page kept loading and I was hoping I’d see a page where I’ll click the Decline button or something then the worse thing happened…. I got an alert that all the money in my account has been debited. They left only the kobo for me this happened to me less than 2hrs ago.

I went to the nearest GTBank and I was told that my account was hacked.
The debit alert I got showed that I recharged with all the money in my account.
Lo and behold I was given the number that was recharged at the bank 08170003208 (I was told at the bank that I used my money to recharge that number thinking it’s mine, I wonder if wanted to call heaven or hell that I will recharge that much of money on recharge)All my money is gone and nothing can be done about it, I’m sharing these with you all so u won’t fall a victim. Please be careful.
Note that the mail came from opokonwa@gmail.com under the disguise of GeNs@gtbank.com

  • Seven bedtime habits you must adjust

Seven bedtime habits you must adjust

The time you spend with your spouse right before you drift off to sleep is arguably the most important interaction you’ll have all day. Largely, it helps you overcome all day stress and the hectic workload at the office or place of business.

Below, relationship experts share seven bedtime mistakes couples often make — and how to get back on track.

    1. Going to bed at different times.
Sorry, night owl/early bird couples: Differing sleep schedules may seem like no big thing, but it’s more harmful than you realise, said Marcia Naomi Berger, a psychotherapist and author ofMarriage Meetings for Lasting Love: 30 Minutes to the Relationship You’ve Always Wanted.

“It’s a recipe for feeling lonely and emotionally (and physically) detached from each other,” she said. “One of the best things about being a couple is the warm, fuzzy time you share right before drifting off to sleep — why would anyone want to sacrifice that?”

If you’re going to bed at separate times, there may be more to it than meets the eye, said Berger. “A conflict or grudge might exist that you need to talk about earlier in the day.”

    2. Being inconsiderate of your spouse’s schedule.
If your late night TV or texting habits are getting in the way of your spouse’s rest, it may be time to move the flat screen or smartphone out of the bedroom, said Becky Whetstone, a marriage and family therapist based in Little Rock, Arkansas. Whetstone called on a real life example to illustrate her point.

One husband I counselled was a physician and had to be at the hospital by 6:00 a.m. every weekday. He pleaded with his wife, a stay-at-home mum, to not watch TV when he was trying to get a good night’s sleep but she wanted to keep it on all night as background noise

Whetstone recalled. “Despite every effort – like suggesting she get headphones or he get earplugs and blinders for his eyes — nothing brought him peace and she would not budge. A few years later, they divorced.”

    3. Saying nothing — or very little — to each other before bed.
After a long day of work and looking after the kids, who can blame you for wanting to jump into bed and call it a night? Still, it’s worth trying to carve out some time to emotionally reconnect with your spouse.
“Take the time to talk about the highlights and low points of your day,” said LiYana Silver, a San Francisco-based relationship coach. “There’s no need to offer advice or therapy to each other — just keep it to a short share.”

    4. Spending time with your smartphone over quality time with your spouse.
Do yourself a favour and escort your smartphone out of the room before you head to bed. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and texts should always take a backseat to your spouse, but especially before bed, Berger said.

    ALSO: Dealing with masturbation

“Taking a tablet or phone to bed with you harms your relationship in two ways: First, it isolates you emotionally from each other,” she said. “Secondly, when we’re on electronic device shortly before sleep, the stimulation from the screen tends to keep you awake. With insufficient sleep, we’re likely to be less patient, kind and tolerant toward our partner the next day.”

    5. Self-grooming in bed.
Save the grooming regimen for the bathroom. As Whetstone has heard from clients, nothing kills romance quite like an errant toenail flicking you in the face.A wife I worked with was disgusted with her husband’s tendency for grooming his nails in bed,” Whetstone recalled. “She’d say, ‘I hear a click or crack and every now and then a piece of toe or fingernail hits me in the face or flies across the room and bounces off the wall!’ Even when the nails didn’t hit her, she felt like he didn’t care at all about what she thought of him.”

    6. Putting physical intimacy on the back burner.
Starting to feel more like roommates than spouses? If one of you is avoiding coming to bed or is seemingly disinterested in sex, talk through your issues before you hit the sheets, said Whetstone.
“When it comes to sex, quite a few clients have told me they suspect that their spouse won’t come to bed at the same time they do because they want to avoid sex — and quite a few don’t deny that,” she said.”I always say, ‘Wouldn’t it just be easier to talk about it rather than hide out in another room and tiptoe to bed once you know they’re in a deep sleep?’”

“I always say, ‘Wouldn’t it just be easier to talk about it rather than hide out in another room and tiptoe to bed once you know they’re in a deep sleep?’”

    7. Going to bed angry.
You shouldn’t abruptly end an argument just because it’s late and you’re both tired. But allowing unresolved conflicts or misunderstandings to fester time and time again isn’t good for your marriage, either.

“There is a good reason for the saying, ‘Don’t go to bed angry,’” said Berger.

“Instead, do your best to clear up issues well before bedtime, so when you’re ready to turn in for the night you’ll both want to communicate lovingly, in words, tone and actions.”

  • Six ways to respond to anger

Six ways to respond to anger

We live in increasingly stressful times with people flaring up over little and trivial things. At this point, it’s fair to say that the knowledge of how to handle anger or angry responses is essential. Jumia Travel, the leading online travel agency, shares 6 ways to respond to anger.

    Listen

When a person is angry all they really want is to vent their feelings out to someone, howbeit violently. Unfortunately, this zeal to vent falls on those who are at closest proximity to them. One great thing to do is to simply listen to the person express their anger until they calm down or wear themselves out. Simply hear them out.

    Do Not Analyse

Avoid analyzing all you have listened to and avoid responding at the moment. Don’t worry yourself about if you agree or disagree with all that’s being said. Anger is a largely irrational emotion, therefore your thoughts and feelings about the situation are best kept to yourself when one is angry, especially if you’re the subject of their anger or you’re personally involved.

    Avoid Apologizing

You would think apologizing will calm an angry person down but most times it isn’t so. Many times, apologizing aggravates the person’s anger. Most times, a person is angry because they are not able to get their way with you or with a situation. The key to calming an angry person is to either remain quiet (which can be taken for compliance) or gently acknowledging the person’s anger and assuring the person of your compliance.

Try to Reason with the Person

Later on, when the person is calmer you can address irrational aspect of their outburst and try to reason with them. They are more likely to listen, if they haven’t already realized their own irrationality. If they don’t reason with you and you’re not ready to actually comply, you can opt out of or distance yourself from the situation or person. You can also be patient and give the person time to prove themselves right or wrong.

    Try To Relate

It’s okay to question yourself a little. It’s the healthy and humble thing to do. Question your fault in the situation; try to see things from another perspective to confirm the certainty of your views. Be sure you’re on the right track, if you are, then you can either decide to opt out or if you can afford it, give the person time to prove themselves right or wrong. Also, try to relate with the person and understand where the person is coming from. This can help you solve the problem or misunderstanding easily.

    Protect Yourself

Keep a safe distance from someone who is angry. It’s a well-known fact that people tend to get physical, threatening and abusive when angry. This is mainly because anger is a largely violent and dangerous emotion. You need to trust your instincts and properly assess the situation. If at any point, you feel threatened or in danger, leave the area immediately without hesitation and without saying anything else to the person (run if you have to, you’re not being coward, you’re being smart.)

  • Five mistakes you’re making while charging your phone

Five mistakes you’re making while charging your phone

Many phone users tend to complain that their device’s batteries discharge quickly. They also typically blame the product manufacturer for this issue; however the manufacturer isn’t always at fault. Jumia Travel, the leading online travel agency, shares 5 mistakes that users typically make when charging their phones.

Waiting for the Battery to Reach Low Levels Before Charging

Avoid waiting for your battery to reach a critically low level before charging. The effect of this on your phone battery is not immediate, but over time it begins to manifest and it eventually stresses out your phone battery (yes, batteries get stressed too) and shortens the battery life. Think of your battery as a human body, you really don’t need to wait until you’re about to die before you rest and eat to recharge yourself.

Keeping Your Phone Case on While Charging

Your phone typically emits heat when charging. To avoid exposing your device to ambient temperatures, it’s advisable to remove the phone case while charging your phone so that the heat emitted from your phone while charging can escape. This way you can prevent your device from becoming hotter and potentially overheating when charging. Charging your battery at uncomfortable temperatures can permanently damage battery capacity.

Charging Your Phone in the Wrong Places

You should mind where you charge your phone, because not doing so can negatively affect your battery capacity. Phones have a temperature range they can function normally and charging your phone in a hot area can raise the temperature and stress the battery out. Also, charging your phone in especially low temperature areas, like in front of an air conditioner, can also cause problems for your battery that will eventually affect its optimum performance.

    Charging Your Phone Overnight

The least you’ll sleep throughout the night is most likely going to be between 5 to 8 hours, your smartphone battery typically only needs 2 to 3 hours to fully charge. Charging your phone overnight, constantly stresses your phone battery each night. Sooner than later, your phone is likely to have battery problems. In addition, the temperature rises when the battery is overcharged, so apart from shortening battery life, it can also threaten user’s safety in the event it quickly heats up and explodes. It’s better to charge your phone before you sleep and switch it off while sleeping to preserve the battery till the next day.

    Plugging Whatever Charger Fits

This especially applies to smartphones. Most smartphones use a micro USB for its chargers and for this reasons most people tend to switch and swap chargers since it fits into and works on their phones. However, this is not appropriate and in the long run it can negatively affect your phone battery. The fact that most smartphones have the same micro USB doesn’t mean all chargers and phones are compatible. Some chargers function differently and that difference can be detrimental to your device if care is not taken.

Sad Police encounter: ‘I am not proud to be a Nigerian right now’

Like a Facebook user, many Nigerians weep every day so bitterly for “a lawless country like ours, citizens are not in any way save in the hands of this disguised rogues claiming to be personnel of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS)” without forgetting the regular Police personnel on the streets.

This Facebook user was responding to the painful account of another Facebook user, Baggy Baggz, a Nigerian based in Pretoria, South Africa, in the hands of the men of SARS during a visit to Delta State, Nigeria.

“With the outcome of everyday daylight brutalities and robbery from the high ups of this organisation to the helpless populace is too much. I dislike the so-called devil in carnets call police with passion, so sorry my brother man in narrating such ugly incident and thank God for what has happened,’ the User said in his comment.

His account (edited for typo errors) below:

    At this moment I AM NOT PROUD TO BE A NIGERIAN, and we all are not anywhere near being safe with any of these so-called “law enforcement”. Please my experience below;

I’m Damilola Adeyanju. On 13/04/2017 a couple of my friends and I travelled to Warri, Delta state for a family friend’s wedding to hold on the 15/04/2017. We decided to stay for some extra days after the wedding to have a feel of Delta state since we hardly leave Lagos normally, and so we left for Lagos on 18/04/2017.

That fateful morning around 6:00 a.m, we (6 of us) got to Greener Line Park and chattered a 7 seater bus. At about 7:45 a.m we took off, got to Sapele express by 8:30 thereabout, we got stopped by SARS officials for stop and search. We all came down and were searched. They then proceeded to our bags where they found a laptop belonging to one of us. They asked for the receipt and the owner told them he’s had it for years and doesn’t have it on him after which they grabbed his phone from him.

Getting to me, I also had my laptop and they requested for the receipt as well, I said I don’t have it on me, then he (SARS guy) called one of his colleagues to take the laptop to their patrol pickup truck and told us to go stand by the truck.

TRENDING: Owoseni to DPOs: Leave Lagos if you like bribe

Another Greener Line bus was stopped and they alighted 4 other guys from it, told them to walk towards us and we all get into the back of the truck. We asked why and the SARS pilot shouted ‘obey before complain’. So they got in and drove us away. Bystanders quickly told the Greener Line drivers and the rest of my friends to go after us, because the so-called SARS people could take us to a bush and probably shoot us and go with our belongings.

Fortunately, my phone was silent and undetected, so my friends were able to reach me and I quietly told them we were still on the same express. The drivers sped up and caught up with us. After driving for about 15mins, we eventually got to a police station (OKUOVO).

The got us out of the truck, walked us into the station, pushed us forcefully behind the counter and told us to sit on the floor. While all these was happening we still didn’t know our offence. The next thing we saw was them bringing out statement forms and called one of the other 4 guys to the front, stripped him off his shirt and was told to sit on the floor. The officer started asking the guy questions and writing the statement for the guy, and at some point started whipping him with wire.

The guy’s back tore and started bleeding from the beating. Out of fear and pain, the guy was saying different stories. I was just sitting on the floor looking at my friend like “o boy I no go take this beating oh, we go die here today if e touch me with that wire.”

RELATED: DPO shoots man dead, injure others in Lagos

Next thing the guy was cuffed and brought back behind the counter. I quickly sent my mom a text message to send me the Commissioner of Police for Lagos state’s number. She called and asked why, I stylishly picked and told her what was up. She panicked and I had to cut the call, she eventually sent the number but unfortunately, myself and my friend were next.

My friend was told to sit on the floor I was told to stand, it was two different officers interrogating us, the statement form was brought out and the officer insisted on writing my friend’s statement. My friend refused but was threatened so he had no choice but to sit back on the floor because they were armed. So I quickly grabbed the pen from the other officer that I was going to write mine myself.

I was asked for my profession and all and I wrote it all down. I’m an Aqua-scaper (construction of aquariums and landscaping). They started asking who could identify my business and I should write the names of my clients, I’m like that has got nothing to do with what’s going on here… They asked for proof of my work I told them I have pictures on my phone showed them, even told them I just came back to Nigeria for this wedding that I’m undergoing a course in South Africa and I showed them proof and he was like they should cuff me, that I’m a cultist and my friend is a kidnapper.

Long story short, we got handcuffed until my friends (the bride’s) mum came to our rescue. The cuffs were later taken off but then they said we were in possession of stolen phones and laptops that they won’t be given back to us until we provide the receipts. I got angry and told him I will provide the receipt on the spot if he can provide that of his phone and he said I was very stupid to question an officer. My friend’s mum cried and begged but fell on deaf ears.

ALSO: Our Girls; VIO dead? Good. Now Police Corruption

I had sneaked the number my mum sent on a piece of paper and passed it to my friends outside. The “SARS” officials eventually drove off with the other cuffed boys still with our laptops and phones. I called the commissioner and he spoke to an officer of that police station (OKUOVO station) and the officer said he doesn’t know the officers that arrested us before he too ran away from the station on his okada, so it was just us left in an empty police station.

We waited till about 6:00 p.m and eventually had to leave cos it was getting dark in the middle of nowhere. We went back to Warri.

On 19/04/2017, at about 6:05 a.m we were back at the Greener Line park to get the bus to take us back to the OKUOVO police station, on getting there it was empty. We decided to head to the same spot we were stopped and eventually got to find them there looking for more preys.

I got out of the bus, called the Assistant Commissioner of Police and approached BISHOP (that’s the only info I could get of him), the leader of the “SARS gang”. He said he didn’t want to talk to anybody and I delivered the message to the Commissioner. He heard me say that, grabbed the phone from me and cut the call. He slammed the phone on my chest and started pushing and kicking me, that I should leave.

While walking away he came towards my back and hit me at the back of my head, as I turned to face him he began slapping me for no reason. At that point I had enough of it, I got angry and raised my hands in self-defense to block the hits then I remembered he had a gun and just walked away.

They eventually got some more innocent people to prey on and drove them to another police station (MOSOGAR) in Delta state. We drove behind them, on getting there I didn’t come down from the bus, my friends and the manager of Greener Line went in with them. They were asked to pay N80,000 before our phones and laptops were returned to us.

I do understand that in life, bad things happen sometimes. What I don’t understand, however, is why as a citizen of this country, I experienced this not at the hands of robbers or thugs, but at the hands of uniformed policemen who my tax cloth and buy arms for.

I am sad, and do hope that perhaps somebody reading this somewhere will recognise these guys and help identify them, not for revenge, but so other unsuspecting helpless citizens don’t get to experience such too at the hands of their supposed policemen “friends”.

Besides the above account, The Nation wishes to inform our esteemed readers that the Nigeria Police is trying hard to rid the Force of several bad eggs in the system. In this effort, the Police introduced the Complaint Unit which has been very active and helpful in the fight against corrupt practices in the Force.

  • Celebrating the Common Wealth Day

    Celebrating the Common Wealth Day

The true essence of life is when we all come together in good spirit to promote the values and essence of our countries and ensure its continuous survival and existence; this we do irrespective of our differences in culture and geographic barriers.

In simple definition, the Commonwealth is a voluntary association of 52 independent and equal sovereign states. It is home to over 3 billion people and includes both advanced economies and developing countries.

It is a community of friends and equals committed to the maximization of the benefit of their common historical heritage.

This year, the theme for the commonwealth day is “A Peace-Building Common Wealth”. At a time of increasing instability and uncertainty in the world, there is a fierce urgency for the common wealth family of nations in its rich diversity to become a source of strength and hope for all its members.

A peace-building common wealth basically reaffirms the common wealth charter principle that international peace and security aid in sustaining economic growth and development and rule of law is essential to the progress and prosperity of all.

To give an historical colouration, it is important we know that the Commonwealth day is dated to the mid 20th century with the decolonization of the British Empire through the increase of self-governance of its territories. It was formally enacted by the London declaration in 1949 which was ordained by the member states as “free and equal”.

The head of the common wealth of free association is Queen Elizabeth which is also known to be the monarch of 16 members of the commonwealth, known as commonwealth realms.

Nigeria joined the common wealth in October 1st, 1960 (suspended 1995–99).

The purpose of Common Wealth is to support social progress, promotion of common understanding, promotion of sporting activities, discussion of problems as it affects member states, advancing democracy and building economic resilience and affluence.

  • “Buhari will bounce back to lead Nigeria to greatness”

“Buhari will bounce back to lead Nigeria to greatness”

In this interview with Comrade Odeyemi Oladimeji, President, National Committee of  Yoruba Youth (NCYY), he spoke on issues surrounding the Health of President Muhammadu Buhari, the state of the Nation and the recently released Chibok School girls.
There has been general apprehension over the health of President Muhammadu Buhari, considering his recent decision to return to the United Kingdom on health grounds, coupled with various issues raised by a cross section of Nigerians, as an organisation, what is your view on this?
Well, as you may have known, the National Committee of Yoruba Youths is the apex organisation of Yoruba Youth groups, spread across the six states of the Southwest and other Yoruba speaking parts of the country, and we have been at the vanguard of advocacy, campaign against insurgency and terrorism, and any issue that threatens corporate existence as a Nation. This question you have raised, borders on the issues that we have spent the last few weeks sensitising our members and the general public on. I think the time has come for us as Nigerians and lovers of democracy, to urgently address and arrest, this growing trend that could undermine, the unity of this great nation. We are particularly worried as a people, that the threat to our corporate existence, might not be from the now defeated Boko Haram insurgents, but the activities of some people, that I view, as tribal war leaders, ethnic jingoists, religious zealots and self-acclaimed activists, who feel that they can play politics with the health of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Like every other Nigerian, I have read various inciting statements and attempts by these people, to stampede the President out of office, and I think the activities of these persons, constitutes the greatest danger to our democracy.

Should Nigerians not query the health status of the president?
Not at all. As a democrat, I quite agree and appreciate the right and freedom of people to express themselves, on issues which directly or indirectly affects us as a nation. This has never been in contention, as far as our position is concerned. However, we are concerned about how some people have mischievously attempted to hijack the genuine concerns, being raised by concerned Nigerians, on the health status of President Buhari for their own selfish political gains. These category of people, who have been trying to politicize the health of the President, are those who have made derogatory comments on President Buhari’s Health, and have constantly derided his temporary incapacity. We see this as highly distasteful and diversionary. For the sake of emphasis, governance is systemic and cannot tolerate a lacuna (gap) in our country. The acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo is a competent man and key members of the cabinet, are proving to be highly resourceful.

As a Nigerian, what are the significant achievements that you have seen, since the current administration was inaugurated almost two years ago?
Let me say firstly, that my view may not represent that of the government, because I am not an employee or appointee of the current administration. Yet, as a patriotic citizen of Nigeria, I must say that President Buhari’s administration had, in the last two years, struggled to put Nigeria back on the path to greatness. This we can see in the unprecedented successes being recorded in the war against corruption in the country. You and I will agree, that the major factor that has been responsible for the underdevelopment of this country is the catastrophic rise of corruption in our country. But today, the story is different. As a country, this government is saving, despite a fall in oil prices, this government is upgrading infrastructures at ten times, the rate we have at any time in the last eighteen years.
The Buhari administration is plugging all loopholes through the Treasury Single Account and the administration has shown enough courage and effort to tackle unbridled corruption and insurgency in our country.

How soon do you think the president will return to the country, in the light of the dust being raised on his long absence from office?
To be ill, as far as humanity is concerned, is not abnormal. We must also realise that President Buhari has so much burden on his shoulders as the Commander-in-Chief, thereby making it necessary, that we advise him as Nigerians, to take due time to attend to his health, before resuming duties. Like I said earlier, the country will continue to function, even in the absence of the President. The president has done the most important thing required, by transmitting to the National Assembly, his desire to proceed on medical vacation, as demanded by our law. He can stay for as long as the need to fully recover is assured and he transmits a contrary declaration to the National Assembly, to the effect that He has now resumed duties. This action of President Buhari, has effectively blocked any vacuum, or lacuna, in the governance of the country.

Recently, there was a major breakthrough after three years search for the abducted Chibok school girls, with the release of another batch of 82 of the girls, what is your take on this?
As a nation, we must appreciate, the determination, focus and compassion of President Buhari and the leadership of our security agencies, especially the Nigerian Army, ably led by Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, which led to the recent release of the 82, of the abducted Chibok School girls. I also want to implore Nigerians, not to see the willingness of the government to negotiate and meet the terms that led to the exchange for the girls as a sign of weakness. Rather, it shows compassion on the part of the country’s leadership. Prisoner exchange is a known global practice by any nation, who values the lives of her citizens. We must equally appreciate the role of the Swiss government and other international agencies, who have supported the Buhari’s administration to ensure that more of our Chibok girls are rescued.

Do you think the government made the right decision in the swap deal that led to the release of the girls going by a recent video credited to one of the released Boko Haram commanders?
For those who have watched the purported video, one thing that will be clear to you, is the fact that it is spurious, and mere hallucination, by the Boko Haram elements, who have been decisively dealt with, by the determination of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and the resilience of the nation’s security agencies, particularly the Nigerian Army. Its content are empty threats, which cannot stand in the face of the landmark defeat, that the insurgents have suffered, in the hands of the Nigerian government, under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari. Let me appeal to Nigerians, not to be distracted or worried, over the poorly conscripted video, because it is one of the universally known antics, of defeated terrorist Organisations, and isolated elements, who will desperately seek to remain seen, in the scheme of things. We strongly believe, that the Boko Haram insurgents, have been seriously decimated by the Nigerian Army under the leadership of General Tukur Buratai, in active collaboration with other security agencies, and the victory so far achieved in the war against insurgency under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, is visible to the blind. We challenge those in doubt of these achievements, to freely explore the opportunity of visiting the communities in those axis, to understand the successes so far achieved, by this administration
Finally, I want to call on Nigerians, to sustain their support towards the untiring effort of President Buhari’s administration, to salvage Nigeria, from the decadence of the past. I also want to urge Nigerians to continue praying for the quick recovery of President Buhari. Our prayers should also go to the men and officers of our armed forces, particularly the Nigerian Army, who have shown uncommon courage, dedication and commitment, in protecting our corporate existence and our sovereignty as a nation

Five reasons your smartphone needs a screen protector

Everyone knows smartphones are on the pricy side and it can be quite frustrating to spend a large chunk of money on one and end up with a scratched or cracked screen. Jumia Travel, the leading online travel agency, shares 5 of many reasons why your smartphone needs a screen protector.

    Shatter resistance

Screen protectors can be shatter resistant but not all screen protectors are shatter resistant. For shatter resistance, tempered glass screen protectors can be very effective protection for your smartphone screen against scratches, cracks and shattering of the screen. Tempered glass screen protectors also help to protect your device further against normal wear and tear.

    Preserves resale value

Typically, most people use a phone for a year or two before they start thinking of making a change. Regardless of how long you intend to use your smartphone, if you are able to preserve your devices from cracks and scratches, it will contribute positively to its resale value. Ideally, when it comes to resale value, the smartphone devices with little or no scratches on their screens are able to be sold for substantially more. The best way to achieve this is to use a screen protector.

    Removes glare from light

Smartphones are mobile and for this reason they are likely to be used while on a bus, in a park, outdoors, indoors and basically just about anywhere. Because of this, the glare from light especially when the smartphone is being used outdoors can be quite uncomfortable and can cause eye tension. Anti-glare screen protectors help to take care of this problem by cutting down on the glare and improving screen visibility, thus reducing eye tension.

    Fingerprints

Having a screen protector can help to keep pesky fingerprint impressions away from your smartphone screen. Anti-fingerprint screen protectors are made from a lipophobic coating that repels skin oils and provides resistance to the appearance and attachment of fingerprints and smudges, making prints on the screen almost invisible from all angles. This helps you to avoid cleaning your screen constantly.

    Improves aesthetics

Who needs a mirror when you have a reflective screen protector? Reflective screen protectors are perfect for serving the dual purpose of protecting your screen and being a mirror that can be used to assess your physical appearance from time to time to be sure that nothing is out of place. When the phone is in use, the reflective screen protector acts like a normal screen, but when the phone is locked or turned off, that’s when it acts like a mirror. The reflective screen protector also has an attractive look that improves the aesthetic appeal of the phone, in addition to protecting your screen from scratches and helping you assess your physical appearance.
