Six famous singers who predicted own death

pular musicians who strangely predicted their own death:

    1. Juice Wrld

    Juice Wrld

Across the standout single “Wishing Well”, Juice Wrld sounds all too aware of how his drug addiction could lead to tragedy; “But if I keep taking these pills, I won’t be here.”.

He also appears to predict his own death in another song titled “Legends’ where he talked about not making it past 21; “What’s the 27 club? / We ain’t making it past 21,” he raps. “I been going through paranoia / So I always gotta keep a gun / Damn, that’s the world we live in now / Yeah, hold on, just hear me out.”

At 21, he overdosed on codeine and oxycodone.

    2. Notorious B.I.G

    Notorious BIG

When legendary Biggie Smalls wrote the lyrics to the song “Suicidal Thoughts,” many people assumed he was just being paranoid. When the rapper was killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles in 1997, the song looked to be a spectral foreshadowing of the fatal incident. He rapped: “I’m glad I’m dead… I swear to God I feel like death is f**king calling me.”

    3. Tupac Shakur

A few months before Tupac was tragically murdered in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, the rapper featured on a song by Richie Rich called ‘N*ggas Done Changed’. On the track, Shakur eerily raps about being shot and murdered. Because the lyrics are so accurate, many people believe his death was staged.

“I been shot and murdered, can tell you how it happened word for word/ But best believe n*ggas gon’ get what they deserve,” he rapped.

    4. Avicii

    Avicii

Avicii saw it coming. As reported by Cosmopolitan, the Swedish musician and DJ behind “Wake Me Up,” whose real name was Tim Bergling, said in a 2017 documentary that if he didn’t retire from performing, he was going to die. This certainty of impending death seems to be what motivated his 2016 retirement, as he felt that his health problems and alcoholic tendencies would overwhelm him if he didn’t step back from the spotlight. But he said he still felt a constant pressure to do more gigs, despite the anxiety it gave him.

Sadly, in 2018, Avicii was found dead in Oman’s Muscat Hills Resort. Bergling’s family later released a public statement that implied he had killed himself.

At the time of his death, Bergling was only 28.

    5. Amy Winehouse

    Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse’s friend Alex Foden said she knew she wasn’t destined for long life. “Amy always told me she thought she would die young and that she knew she’d become a part of the ’27 Club,’” which by the way is that long list of artists who died at 27, including popular Kurt Cobain.

Winehouse did, in fact, die in 2011 at the age of 27 from alcohol poisoning.

    6. Proof

    Proof

Eminem’s best friend Proof passed away after a tragic shooting in a Detroit nightclub. However, the D12 rapper had already strangely predicted his death on a song called ’40 oz’.

He rapped: “I’m in the club to beef, you gotta murder me there”. The tragedy was also played out in Eminem’s ‘Toy Soldiers’ video, with Proof eerily playing the rapper who was shot dead in the club.

Seven popular musicians who changed stage names

In 2016, musician 2face Idibia declared that he had changed his stage name.  On social media, he introduced his new moniker, 2baba.

    1. Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg has had several stage names. Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. was his birth name. He used the moniker “Snoop Rock” when he first started rapping, then he changed it to “Snoop Doggy Dogg” and eventually lost the “Doggy.”

  • CLOUD JOBS IN NIGERIA: Three Career Progression Tips for Fesh Graduates

CLOUD JOBS IN NIGERIA: Three Career Progression Tips for Fesh Graduates

    By Akeredolu Isaac Rotimi

It is an open secret in Nigeria that the harvest is so few, but the laborers are plenty. According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) 33.3 percent or 23.2 million Nigerians out of the 70 million working population are unemployed. But it is not just a Nigerian problem. In most emerging markets, graduate unemployment averages about 7.97%, according to a recent MSCI report.

Despite these gloomy pictures, it is still possible to come out of the university today, secure gainful cloud computing employment if you have the right knowledge and skills. Cloud computing skills alongside of artificial intelligence and big data, are rated as the most sought-after technology skills.

Here are three (3) tips to help Nigerian fresh graduates to build a sustainable career in cloud computing.

    1.  DEVELOP YOUR CLOUD COMPUTING SKILLS

Nigerian companies are more than ever investing substantially in Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, and other state-of-the-art cloud-based technology products that have further increased their reliance on cloud skilled talents. As more Nigerian businesses migrate to cloud- based infrastructure and services, the cloud skills shortages become inevitable.

General skills that you need to build a career in cloud computing include but not limited to the following:

Cloud Data Security – Cloud data security is the method of safeguarding data and other digital information assets from security threats, human error, and insider and outsider threats. It leverages technology, policies, and processes to keep your data private and still accessible to those who need it in cloud-based environments. This growing demand for expertise in cloud security has led to immense need for cloud security engineers. Knowledge of cybersecurity and earning a qualification will give you an edge.

Cloud security engineers help to create and maintain security procedures for company activities in the cloud, such as cloud infrastructure or cloud networks. They help in designing, testing, and organizing the processes and procedures that keep business information, network, and other assets secure.

Database management abilities: Database management today has developed into an interesting career. Proficiency in databases like Oracle, MongoDB, SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, as well as database scaling, and server management are some of the essential cloud technologies skills for freshers. Administrators that into cloud database management must make sure that data is appropriately stored, safeguarded, and backed up to prevent data loss and security breaches.

Programming Languages: Programming languages are normally used for scripting and automating cloud operations. Automation skills are similarly important, as they allow application developers to modernize deployment, scaling, and administering of cloud resources. If you are hoping to acquire cloud technologies skills, some of the programming languages you should consider learning are JavaScript, Python etc. JavaScript is widely used for building web applications and server-side development. A training program in JavaScript will help you kickstart your career as an app developer. Python is known for its simplicity; it is generally used for web development and data processing. If you are an aspiring cloud data specialist or data engineer, learning Python is the way to go.

Development and Operations (DevOps) – DevOps is a framework and set of practices that enable development teams to work in collaboration and share resources. It helps to integrate the work of development teams and operations teams by simplifying a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility. Formation of tailored DevOps framework, management of resources, and maintenance of database, network, and other aspects of DevOps have achieved reputation for those desirous of operating on the side-line of Public Cloud Computing.

Data Migration – Simply put, cloud migration is the process of migrating data, and other resources from on-premises to cloud or from one cloud location to another. As businesses move their IT to cloud environments, they need help transferring massive volumes of multi- formatted data tightly, accurately, and flawlessly to cloud databases. As businesses develop and set up on-premises or private clouds, the demand for data migration skills continues. Data migration is therefore one of the many cloud computing skills in demand.

Soft Skills: These skills play a greater role in successful cloud deployments than you might think. Technical skills are obviously essential in cloud computing, but every company wants to hire well- rounded workforce. It is therefore imperative that Cloud teams possess soft skills, such as problem solving, critical thinking, adaptability, agility, time management and collaboration.

    2.  EARN A RIGHT CLOUD CERTIFICATION

Even though employers prefer that applicants to cloud computing positions possess a first degree in computer science or a related field, one of the best ways to start up your career in cloud computing is through a reputable cloud certification. A certification is a brilliant option to consider if you are looking for a formal way to acquire new skills and earn a certificate. No matter the cloud platform you are contemplating, there is always a certification that can connect you with the expertise you need.

Amazon Web Services for instance runs comprehensive certification programs for trainees who want to build their cloud computing skills. AWS offers different learning paths and resources, and it does not matter whether you are new to public cloud deployment or looking to develop your existing expertise. If you are new to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and looking to jumpstart, I will recommend Oracle Cloud Overview and the OCI Foundation Associates certification to embark on the OCI journey. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundations Associate provide the foundational knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Cloud (OCI) Services and it is designed for everyone who would like to start the journey in Oracle Cloud and get new opportunities.

There are also Azure Training and Certification trainings that are designed for students or freshers who are just beginning to work with Azure. It prepares participants to gain required confidence to take other role-based courses and certifications, such as Azure Administrator, DevOps Engineer, Solution Architects, Developers etc.

    (3) DO NOT DODGE INTERNSHIP

The difference between fresh graduates from elite homes who secure jobs quickly after graduation and those from poor homes who wait for an additional two to three years before securing a job is an internship opportunity.

This is a global problem. A recent report in BusinessDay culled from the Harvard Business Review cites how fresh graduates in China are ditching their interests in traditional career roles to seek opportunities in tech due to the inability to secure internship opportunities.

Ideally, every undergraduate should intern and gain invaluable experience in the profession of interest, cloud computing being one of them. However, most students, especially those from poor homes cannot afford it because someone has to support them with transportation and feeding at least, since there are hardly any paid student internship placements in Nigeria. Students in that category usually miss this important opportunity. It does not help that they also have to worry about the next session’s tuition and other expenses.

If you have missed the opportunity to intern during your undergraduate days, you must seek an internship opportunity after you graduate.

You should understand that as a fresh graduate, the odds are already stacked against you succeeding simply because you have neither access to the system nor the understanding of its modus operandi.

According to Titilayo Adewumi, Managing Director for West Africa at SAP, the past few years have seen an increase in the adoption of cloud technologies among West African enterprises. Nigerian companies are adopting cloud technologies at an unprecedented rate to unlock a range of viable capabilities through digital revolution..

Therefore, to reduce these odds, your first of occupation is gaining experience, and gaining experience should possibly start with an internship with one of the Nigerian Companies that have adopted Public Cloud Computing. Internship from day one, offers you opportunity to work and learn alongside experts and leaders in the world of cloud computing. You will get involved in exciting projects that make a meaningful impact for the Nigerian companies and the people they serve. You will add valuable skills and experience to your resume and be considered for a full-time offer.

Think about any experience upon graduation as an expression of interest to be part of the Nigerian economic system. Think of it as an opportunity to prove yourself and to build your character. A career in cloud computing is highly rewarding. It has not only impacted our lives but also helping companies to deploy new digital solutions with greater speed and to create value more quickly.

  • Nine things you probably shouldn’t do on Valentine’s Day

Nine things you probably shouldn’t do on Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is the one day in the year where love is officially celebrated and recognised.

Lovers everywhere are pressured with expressing their love with gifts and cards.

Here are things you should never do on Valentine’s day:

    1. Don’t go to the same place

It might seem like a good idea to take your partner somewhere you’ve been before and you know they like. But this is Valentine’s Day. It’s your time to show them that you are spontaneous! find the best rated local restaurant in your area. Get booking now as they fill up fast.

    2. Don’t get drunk

We’ve all been there, so desperate to impress someone that we have a few drinks for Dutch courage before the actual date. Then when you’re on the date you end up drinking so fast because you’re nervous. This is not a good idea, as it is likely that you will end up getting drunk and talking nonsense and making a fool out of yourself.

    3. Don’t bring a friend

Valentine’s Day is one day of the year that should be spent with a loved one alone. We all know that two’s company and three’s a crowd. So no matter how sorry you feel for your single friend, don’t bring them along to your date night. This is only going to infuriate your partner and leave you in the doghouse for quite some time.

    4. Don’t dump them

If you’re thinking about dumping your partner, then don’t do it on Valentine’s Day. That memory will live with them forever. So get your timing right. A couple of days before isn’t good either as they more than likely have already started making plans. This rule can also be applied to other big celebrations such as birthdays\

At times we are tempted to judge the strength of our relationships by the philosophies surrounding the “lovers day”. Build your own philosophies of life and live by them. Do not rush to say it’s over.

    5. Do not go out with someone you have very little knowledge of

It is a common thing for most people to plan their first-time dates for Valentine’s day. They see it as a good opportunity to meet that newly found love. In as much as the idea in totality is not bad, l encourage you to take caution. There are people who take advantage of some of these festive occasions to harm their victims.

    6. Don’t talk about your ex

Talking about your ex to your new partner is normally a no-go area but even more so on Valentine’s Day. By talking about past relationships your date will only get the impression that you’re not over them. On Valentine’s Day your partner wants you to tell them they are the most special person in the world – not second best!

    7. Don’t make promises you can’t fulfill

Valentine’s Day may be the most romantic day of the year, so it can be very easy to get carried away. So if you’re going to make a promise to your loved one on the big day, make sure it’s one that you can fulfil. Otherwise, you’re just setting yourself up for a fall. It’s better to kill someone with the truth than please them with a lie.

    8. Flow with the tide

If you do not have a partner to take you out on this special day, make up your mind not to flow with the tide. Be decisive, make your own rules and abide by them. On this note, do not spoil your friends’ special time by tagging along and ruining their dates. Be yourself and you will appreciate the peace that comes with doing this.

    9. Don’t be alone

Don’t allow yourself to fall into a depression by spending Valentine’s Day alone. Get with a group of friends and spend some time together or call your family and schedule a movie. Do everything but sit in front of the TV and watch a good movie that will leave you questioning your single status. Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be a day for just couples, it’s supposed to be a day that rejoices in love and that love can be shared amongst friends and/or family members.
