    Egbetokun son’s show stopping wedding

    The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has joined the leagues of the elite who threw high-octane wedding for their children.

    On Thursday, August 22,  he hosted a traditional engagement for his son, Victor Egbetokun with Anjolaoluwa Oriyomi, where they displayed their cultural heritage and received traditional blessings from both families as they officially paid the dowry and also gave the bride’s family all necessary traditional wedding requests.

    On Saturday, August 24, Victor tied the nuptial knot with his long-time fiancee Anjolaoluwa, daughter of Dr. Olatubosun and Mrs. Yeside Oriyomi at a holy matrimony at the RCCG Redemption Pavilion Parish, Victoria Island, Lagos.

    Victor, a trained lawyer in the United Kingdom, is a cosmopolitan debonair and loves the good life.

    His wedding reception at the Habour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos, was the talk of the town. It was a mixture of culture and entertaining ambience. Lots of vendors were on standby to fete guests to the very best with an array of finger foods, sumptuous meals, deserts and high-costdrinks.

    The wedding after-party also took place at the Exclusive Club 2.45, where the sons and daughters of Nigeria’s elite gathered to celebrate late into the night.

    The Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, is indeed a happy man. He is one of the few favoured by God for putting him in his current position.

    Last Saturday, the city of Jalingo came alive as the Danbaba Suntai Airport, Jalingo became the busiest airport with over 18 private jets landing.

    Kefas hosted the PDP governors forum, he also gave his daughter Keziah Kefas’ hand out in marriage to Bitrus Josiah at a church service at the Indoor Games Hall of Jalingo Stadium.

    The officiating Minister, Bishop Foreman Nedison of The Great Gospel House, Jalingo, prayed for the couple and urged them to be God-fearing and respect each other as they both have vital roles to play in sustaining the union.

    Kefas and his wife Agyin were indeed filled with joy as a proud parent as their daughter whom they share a great bond has finally come of age transiting into another phase of life as a wife.

    The grand wedding reception at the football pitch, Jalingo Stadium saw top dignitaries who included ex-President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. The ex-president was the father of the day, the Governor of Delta state, Sheriff Oberevwore, was the chairman of the occasion while Vice President Kashim Shetimma was the special guest of the occasion who spoke on the benefit of being married and also advised the rudiments of having nuptial bliss.

    Other dignitaries reported to be present include Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal; Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri; Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori; Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke; Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri; and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, among others.     On Sunday, August 19, the University of Lagos graduate of Mechanical Engineering hosted top political gladiators at Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos to celebrate the milestone age. The former NEPA and John Holt staff member is a member of the Governor Advisory Council (GAC) and his fellow members also converged alongside the deputy governor of Lagos, Dr. Babafemi Hamzat to celebrate his birthday.     She attained her current height through hard work and resilience, today she is reaping the fruit of her labour.

    The medical doctor from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife had a scare after her husband, Dr. Oluwaseun Fasawe, a consultant and the managing director of Silver River Healthcare Nigeria Limited died on May 29, 2014, in London at 42.

    Dolapo, who is the daughter of the former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Prof. Modupe Adelabu, remained strong, pulling through and today she is being praised for her doggedness in moving the family ahead.

    On July 12, she sauntered into the golden age, she was celebrated by many people who confirmed her as an epitome of grace and hope. Despite jetting to a private location in Ghana to celebrate with her immediate family, her mouth was filled with praises to her creator for making her clock age 50, in good health and wealth.

    As mandate secretary, she has rejigged and infused her knowledge in making sure FCT indigents got access to affordable health care and also protecting the environment from degradation wearing a new look for the city.

    For Governor of Anambra State; Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, his first daughter, Ifeatu Adaora Soludo, a fashion connoisseur and real estate investor in the United Kingdom, tying nuptial knot with Arinze Ibekwe, a native of Odoje in Onitsha North LGA, Anambra State was a thing of pride.

    Ibekwe is a software engineer who currently works with a British online food delivery company, Deliveroo. Before joining Deliveroo, he worked at an audit company, KPMG, in Manchester, UK; and interned at the tech firm, IBM, also in the UK.

    On July 26, the couple had their court wedding in London. Their traditional wedding took place in Isuofia, Aguata LGA, Soludo’s hometown where top dignitaries, royal fathers and government officials were all in attendance. The traditional wedding on August 11, was quite significant for Soludo as the union broke a 142-year family jinx.

    Ifeatu became the first female child in the Soludo family who got married legally without having a child out of wedlock. This was a thing of pride for Soludo who could not hide his excitement and almost got teary while handing the glass of palm wine to his daughter for her husband.

    Sources say they both share a formidable father-and-daughter bond. With joy in his heart, Soludo blessed the couple and prayed that they enjoy nuptial bliss in abundance.

    On August 17, the wedding train moved to Abuja where the couple had their white wedding amid pomp.

    Despite his wealth, he never failed to thank his God with songs of praises in his mouth. His birthday soiree was well attended as governors, senators, billionaires and others converged to share in his joy and pay him back for his kind gestures. He spared no cost to make the occasion a befitting one as close friends who have benefitted from his milk of kindness came together to present him a gift of over $500,000 Rolls Royce Cullinan.

    While the friends failed to disclose their names; sources say they all contributed to donate the car to him as a sign of appreciation for his contribution to their lives and also being a friend and a shoulder to lean on. Adesina, who is a silent philanthropist, is a dependable friend and a shoulder to lean on for his close associates.

    Former President of the Eighth Senate and former Governor of Kwara Abubakar Bukola Saraki has, once again, shown that despite being out of the political space for over five years, his influence still cuts across party lines.

    This was seen at funeral of his mother, Madam Florence Saraki, who died at 92. Since the announcement of his mother passing on, Saraki’s home in Ikoyi, top dignitaries kept trooping there in large numbers to commiserate with the family and also show support for the Saraki family until she was buried last Saturday.

    The Saraki home became a Mecca of sorts for top political gladiators across party lines and also top businessmen and socialites who came to sign the condolence register and bid Mama Saraki farewell.

    The burial ceremony of Mama Saraki was held last week and it kicked off with a service of songs at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites where governors and government functionaries gathered to bid the Saraki matriarch farewell.

    At the funeral service on July 19 at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina Lagos, it was a large gathering that attracted governors, senators, House of Representatives members, and captains of industries.

    After the remains of the deceased were lowered to Mother Earth at a private interment, guests converged at the Eko Convention Centre where the Sarakis treated them to a touch of royal opulence.

    There was an endless supply of quality local and continental dishes and high-cost drinks.

    Senator Tolu Odebiyi, who once represented Ogun West Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly, has hosted a society wedding for his daughter, Ayotola Oluwatoyin Odebiyi.

    He held a traditional wedding for his daughter and her heartthrob Muktar Shagaya in Lagos.

    The event took place at Harbour Points Events Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

    The groom, Muktar Shagaya, is a member of the Federal House of Representatives, and son of  businesswoman Hajia Bola Shagaya.

    The bride Ayotola Oluwatoyin, a graduate of Colgate University, New York with a Masters Degree from Leeds University, UK is a corporate communications specialist.

    The wedding was attended by family members, friends and dignatariesfrom far and near.

    It attracted many dignitaries led by ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Kessington Adebutu, the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu who was represented by the White Cap chiefs, the Emir of Ilorin, the Aboro of Iboro and Erelu Dosunmu in attendance.

    He is also working assiduously to bring peace to the Southeast. This led to his campaign for peace in the region months ago. He also aims at driving religious heads, monarchs to political leaders and opinion leaders from across Nigeria to uphold peace and stability within the Southeast to halt kidnappings and killings, among other security issues, affecting the growth and development of the region.

    We gathered that the celebrant instead of throwing an elaborate birthday shindig opted to celebrate with his wife and children also in the company of his close friends as they had prayers before he jets to Abuja to attend a business meeting.

    At his home in Lagos, There was an array of meals, Cakes and enough supply of the best cognacs, exclusive French champagnes, Vintages Wines and a host of others. He and his family also offered prayers to his creator for preserving his life.

    Sources say he is planning to jet out to his favourite fun spot in Central London, United Kingdom where he will spend quality time with his family and a few circle of friends in celebration mode.
