But since he decided to give politics a shot in his home state, he has witnessed severe baptismal of fire losing the election. Many thought that was going to make him dump politics but he is a man who is focused on achieving anything he sets out to achieve that’s why he is not relenting on his oars in ensuring he serves his people in Abia state.

    In 2019, the chairman of Caades groups lost his bid to represent the people of Bendel Federal Constituency at the lower arm of the National Assembly under the umbrella of the People’s Democratic Party but he lost to Hon. Benjamin Kalu of the All Progressive Congress. After that defeat, Ofuji Bendel, as he is fondly called, has since been consulting on the next step politically. Instead of giving the House of Representatives a shot again, the Igbere-born politician has changed his game plan to contest as Governor of Abia under the PDP hoping to succeed Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu. Sources say Ayanso is leveraging on his youthful network, financial war chest, and also his alliance with ex-governor Orji Uzor Kalu.

    Sources disclosed that Ubah is looking to replicate his magic wand of 2019 to retain his seat in the senate again in 2023. He has promised to take his opponents by surprise. Those who saw him as an underdog now see him as a bigger threat in the election owing to his achievements in the senate and the transformational work he carried out in his senatorial district.

    His story can be likened to that of the biblical David, a man after God’s heart. His story in life connotes grace, blessings, and sheer luck. He started politics early in life as he was elected Imo State Youth leader for the National Party of Nigeria NPN. All his life, he has always wanted the best for his immediate environment thereby impacting them with his resources, time, and energy. After paying his dues, supporting different candidates for gubernatorial, and trying severally, in 2011 he was elected Senator representing Imo West at the hallowed upper National Assembly. After many back and forth with legal litigations, Uzodinma finally won at the supreme court which marked the beginning of his political sojourn as a senator. As a member of the senate, he ensured salient issues were raised on the floor of the house and lent his voice to bills passed.

    After the 2019 Imo governorship election, Senator Hope approached the court to reclaim his mandate. On January 14, 2020, the supreme court sacked Emeka Ihedioha and declared Uzodinma governor of Imo State against all odds. While he has been carrying out his official duty as Governor of the state, some unscrupulous elements are making the state ungovernable for him trying to destabilise the peace of Imolites. Despite the serious crisis Imo state is facing, Uzodinma is performing excellently well to ensure peace and tranquillity return to the state via dialogue with stakeholders.

    Despite the travails he is currently facing in the state, his strides in the area of infrastructure, education, security, economic reform, revenue generation, health care, hospitality, and tourism are being felt across the board. In the same vein, attempts to cut him into the size and gag him from carrying out his duty have failed as he always bounced back like a cat with nine lives.

From rebuilding, educational revamping from primary to secondary, investment in worker’s welfare, providing relief materials for displaced persons, providing health care for nursing mothers, and all sundry to massive rehabilitation of roads across the state, he has proven to be a hard worker. Many are wondering how he was still able to ensure good work but he is a man who has never compromised on his words. As the 2023 election draws nearer, sources disclosed that in reward for the good work he has done across the state, nobody is planning to contest his reelection bid. It is being bandied in some quarters that for the next election, nobody is contesting against him. He’s believed to have been rewarded with plans to make him a consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC without his knowledge.
