He said, “It is a new dawn to the organisation and it marks the beginning of a new era in Man O’ War Nigeria,” Adedamola said. “It symbolises the readiness of Man O’ War Nigeria to develop our youth from the grassroots level. And we are here today in Ogun State to unveil the initiative that is meant for the development of Nigerian youth right from the grassroots level.”

The PAGE Initiative is scheduled to roll out across all 36 states of the federation, beginning with Ogun State as the pilot phase.

According to the national commander, Mr. Adedamola Gbenga, the next destination is Kano State in the northern region, with plans underway for a phased expansion to other parts of the country.

“We have our work plan, and in implementing the work plan, we intend to start from Ogun State, which we have just done. After that, we are going back to the north, specifically Kano State, for the second phase of the initiative,” he explained. “And as soon as we are through with this, we move to other zones, and by doing so, it will cut across the 36 states of the federation.” He added.

In addition to youth development, the initiative places a strong emphasis on health empowerment, particularly for girls and young women. And Man O’ War is part of the community,” he noted. “We are building our youth, who are members of the community, to be concerned about the security of the environment. And this is just the concept of our community policing that the citizens have been clamouring for.”

He further revealed that the organisation has introduced a separate initiative aimed at equipping its members with the necessary logistics and resources to enhance their effectiveness in community security operations.

“What we are doing is to ensure that the youth, who are members of the community and citizens, participate effectively in the security of the environment.

In totality, Man O’ War is not a non-governmental organisation, just like other organisations. It’s an establishment of the National Assembly, though it’s a voluntary organisation, part of our initiative is to ensure that we get support from well-meaning Nigerians and philanthropists to execute some of our programmes.”

As the PAGE Initiative expands nationwide, Mr. Adedamola Gbenga urged Nigerians to support the organisation’s mission to instil discipline, nurture leadership, and promote a culture of civic responsibility among the country’s youth.

“The organisation needs citizens and members of the public to join them. Joining us will mean a lot to Nigeria in terms of development, in terms of providing and supporting manpower to security agencies, in terms of building character and building values, inculcating values in our children and our young people.”

With the successful launch in Ogun State and subsequent phases planned for the north and other regions, Man O’ War Nigeria is positioning itself to take on a more dynamic role in advancing national youth development and driving community-led security reform.

Respect leaders, avoid online insults, Islamic preacher advises Nigerians

An Islamic preacher, Dr. Abdullahi Bala Lau, has urged Muslims and Nigerians at large to desist from insulting traditional rulers, clerics, and political leaders on social media and other platforms.

Speaking at the “Public Da’wah Initiative” themed “Tawheed (Oneness of Allah) and Peace among kings on the throne in Nigeria” in Osogbo, Osun State, Dr. Lau emphasized that leadership is ordained by God, who alone has the power to appoint or remove individuals from positions of authority.

Dr. Lau, who is the West Africa President of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah, said, “We should respect the clerics, traditional rulers and political office holders. They were ordained to be in the position by God. Respect them and God will do what you want for you.”

He further urged Nigerians to recognise the oneness of God and rely solely on Him for their needs.

The event, held at Freedom Park, attracted prominent personalities including Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke (represented by Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon. Kayode Abdulrasheed Aderibigbe), former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, National Ameer of FASON Shaykh Tajudeen Abdul Kareem, and Vice President of the Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria, Shaykh Isa Akindele.

Other dignitaries included Alhaji Daud Makanjuola (represented by Dr. Abdulrasheed Abdulaziz), MUSWEN Executive Secretary Prof. Muslih Tayo Yahaya, Prof. Koyejo Oloso, Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland Dr. Yunus Olushina Teliat Ayilara, and Prof. Taofiq Abdulazeez, Chief Imam of the University of Abuja.

Traditional rulers in attendance were the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi; Akire of Ikire-Ile, Oba AbdulAzeez Olatubosun; Alawo of Awo, Oba AbdulRasaq Taiwo Adegboye; and several others.

“We are living in a wold full of uncertainties, if you see people, majority of them are searching for unity, so what is the solution. We should not associate partners with God. Do not abuse clerics, traditional rulers and political leaders. Do not abuse them on social media. Nobody know when this world will come to an end. We don’t know what will happen tomorrow. Our dear kings and clerics should come together. The kings are in need of the scholars and the scholars are in need of the kings.

“So, each of us should endeavor to maintain and sustain peace and harmony wherever we are. The whole message of Islam is about oneness of Allah and it preaches unity. Islam brought all of us together, all of us are united by the believe in the oneness of God. We should not worship idols. There should be no intermediary between us and God”.

Akindele in his lecture noted that injustice is the root cause of many of the social vices in the country. He called on all the stakeholders to rise up and do something to promote justice in the country.

He said “Justice is the cause of all these problems. Any community that encourages justice will continue to prosper and anyone that does not prioritise justice will be witnessing crisis. There cannot be peace without justice.

“There is injustice everywhere, injustice in many places. Where there is no justice, there will be no orderliness. Without justice, there will be no peace and orderliness. We have to start from the government circle, you said you are employing graduates who have degrees and you are paying them N30,000 but your children who are in nursery school are collecting N250,000.

“We have many graduates who are riding motorcycles. Injustice is the cause of all these problems where we have many people engage in prostitution, Yahoo Yahoo, drug pushing and the rest. And we are saying that there will be peace. There is no justice. We have to do something about it”.

Adeleke while speaking urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the country and the state in particular.

“There is no gain saying that for any meaningful development to take place, there must be peace and tranquility. This is the more reason why this gathering is unique and appropriate. It is the duty of the religious leaders to preach peace to their followers while the government maintain peace through all the necessary government machineries.

“I beseech you all to continue praying for this country and Osun state in particular. Osun state being the cradle of the Yoruba race place premium on our tradition and especially our Royal Fathers. There is the need to respect our royal fathers.

“May I use this opportunity to appeal to our religious leaders to inculcate the habit of respecting our Royal Fathers and culture in your followers”.

Akanbi while speaking advised Nigerian youths not to shy away from politics.

He said that this is because they are future of Nigeria.
