“There is something that is missing in Nigeria, creativity in how to create wealth. Wealth creation is something that needs to come Into the curriculum of schools, we need to teach our children early how to become entrepreneurs and do things which could be exported.

Africans are dulling their brains, it’s not about the government paying you salary, please get up and create wealth, it’s important that you expand the scope and area of your influence and trade.

Court dismisses cases challenging Abiodun’s candidature, APC primary

A Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital has dismissed three cases filed against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Governor Dapo Abiodun, challenging his victory at the primaries conducted on May 26.

In the three cases decided, Hon Justice Joyce O, Abdulmalik dismissed them for lack of locus standi to sue, lack of jurisdiction, incompetence, frivolity, (needless) academic exercise and being statue barred.

The judge awarded a “joint cost” of N2million against the litigants and in favour of APC and its candidate in each of the three cases.

In a particular suit filed by Mrs. Sherifat Eweje against APC and Abiodun, the judge held that a person who did not participate in a primary election for an office could not invoke the limited jurisdiction of the court to challenge the outcome of that primary.

The judge remarked that Eweje bought a form for a legislative seat and did not buy a form for the governorship primary.

She added that Eweje even withdrew her candidature on May 10 long before she filed the suit and long before May 26 when the governorship primary was held.

The court concluded and declared that Eweje had no locus standi to bring the action.
