  • Persecution should not deter us from evangelism, says Adeyemo

Persecution should not deter us from evangelism, says Adeyemo

    By Adeola Ogunlade

The Coordinator of Mission Across Nations, Rev Ajibadd Adeyemo has charged Christians not to be discouraged in 1the face of persecution as it only an opportunity to go forward and not relent in our mission to complete the great commission.

Adeyemo said this recently as the organization unveil the World Watch List, said that Christians are endangered species in many parts of the world today but God has given us the weapon of prayer to mitigate some of that and still fulfill the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He noted that the great commission, indeed should be our focus, and not the persecution.

He asserted that instead of focusing on their troubles, the early Apostles prayed for greater boldness to preach  the gospel and for signs and wonders to follow their witness.

He said the faithful servant servants of our lord Jesus Christ were meant to suffer all kinds of persecutions-exclusions, vernal attacks , physical shelters and belongings, seizure of their property and even death.

He added as we get closer to the return of our Lord, it becomes even more obvious that Christian are a target for all sorts of mean actions.

He posited by citing the Open Doors Ministry Website, that 260 million Christians experience high level of persecution in the top 50 countries in their Watch List 2020, a 60% increase from 2019.

“Other statistics in 2020 are even more gruesome: 2, 983 Christians were killed for faith-related reasons on average, which is 8 Christians killed everyday for their faith: 9, 488 churches or Christian buildings were attacked: 3, 711 Christians were detained without trial, arrested, sentenced and imprisoned.

Adeyemo pointed out that the Lord Jesus Himself made this very clear about the Last Days when he said: “ But when there things begin to happen, watch out! You will be handed over to the courts and beaten in the synagogues. You will be accused before governor and kings of being my followers. this will be your opportunity to tell them about me.

“Practically, no where is safe anymore. we should expect persecution from political leaders, other religious groups and even from the church  (The False Church).

According to our Lord that is an  opportunity to tell people about Him.

He said the push is for a new World Order is making things even more scary for the saints. Christians could be even  be more considered as terrorist in the growing twist of moral values because they would be the ones to oppose things like the One Religion or a vaccine of the mark of the Beast.

The cleric warns that Satanism is also on the rise and now, it is coming out from the shadows and clearly fighting the only obstacle to their cause, Christians. Political leaders, who also have an affinity with satanism will try to use the power at their disposal to frustrate any attempt to stop them spiritually or otherwise.

Archbishop Martins laments absence of love, rising insecurity

Catholic Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Lagos, His Most Rev. Alfred Adewale Martins has tasked leaders and all Nigerians to imitate God through love, as they celebrate St. Valentine’s Day.

Martins, who was represented by the Dean, Ikeja Deanry, Very Rev. Father Patrick Obayomi, during a  programme tagged Valentine 2021 Day with the Archbishop with the theme: “Love is tested in the midst of adversity”,  where 19 couples renewed their marriage vows, at Catholic Church of the Ascension,  Ikeja,  Lagos, lamented the state of insecurity in the country, attributing it to absence of love and wide spate corruption in public places.

Martins, who condemned Nigerian leaders’ nonchalant attitude, said the country was sitting on the keg of gun powder. He said only love could bind a nation together.

Martins described the disturbing impact of corruption in all facets of life in the country as more perilous and devastating for all Nigerians and the country, than the Corona Virus pandemic.

He asserted that how do we share love in the season of valentine when there is insecurity occasioned by corruption happening everywhere?  Its has not be this bad as souls are slaughtered every day and not concrete is been done.

He noted that corruption makes insecurity to fester in the society as people in position of authority continue to look away when people are doing what is wrong as long as they are not affected.

“When leaders fold their arms, simply because their family members are not affected in the ongoing mayhem, it shows they do not love their fellow Nigerians, who voted them into power. When they care less for the people they are supposed to protect, they are not emulating God of love, who created man in His image and in sacrificing His only begotten son, “he said.

He posited that the church will continue to speak truth to power even when they will listen because we will one day give account of our stewardship here on earth.

He opined that corruption has “continued to ravish all sectors of the nations’ fabric, stalling growth and development while also beclouding all the values we hitherto hold sacrosanct.”

He said that the Federal Government will take more decisive steps to show that it truly intends to rid the country of corruption, particularly amongst the ruling class. We cannot continue like this. We must begin to work to rid our country of corruption not only in words but also in deed.”

He called on Nigeria to show love among ourselves because we can only live together in an atmosphere of peace and love.

  • LENTEN MESSAGE: Enemies of Christianity – sin and the flesh!

LENTEN MESSAGE: Enemies of Christianity – sin and the flesh!

    Venerable Henry Adelegan

Text: Matthew 5:20 “…..unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisee and teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”

It is incontrovertible that as children of God, Surprising victory is your heritage. There is no gainsaying the fact that as believers, your surprising victory is non-negotiable and it had been established in Christ Jesus. It is however pertinent to note  that in most cases there are privileges and benefits which are available by God for men but are never attainable or achievable by men. Beloved in Christ, kindly be informed that your surprising victory, even as a believer, is contestable and it is daily being challenged by the opponents of surprising victory. Paul told the Ephesians in Ephesians 6:10-12 that believers are in a warfare and that we have enemies. The Psalmist also said in Psalm 34:19 that many, not a few, are the contest or warfare of believers. This was further corroborated by Jesus Christ in John 16:33 that In the world, believers shall be exposed to contests.

From our text, Jesus Christ said three things which are worthy of note. He confirmed firstly that whatever had a beginning must surely have an end. This is sufficing to state that we shall all enter into judgment of God when our tenor ends here (Romans 14:10b, 12). He continued that the people that passed at the Judgment seat shall enter into the kingdom of heaven and those who failed shall be denied of the kingdom of heaven to a place of weeping and regret (Matthew 25:31-33). Lastly, He confirmed that righteousness (or righteous living) is the right attidude to get to the kingdom. He added that such righteousness must however surpass the righteousness of the scribes and the Pharisees. Beloved, heaven has standards.

Who are the Pharisees and the scribes that we must surpass? They are religious people that their words are not their bonds (Matthew 23:3), they love to be recognised in the public space and engage in showmanship (Matthew 23:5), they are very proud people (Matthew 23:11-12), they are hypocrites (Matthew 23:23), they are clean on the outside, carry big Bibles, have big titles, speak in tongues etc but are filled with bitterness, pride, anger and uncleanness (Matthew 23:25,27, 28)

Dear beloved in Christ, God is calling on you at this season of Lent to urgently consider your ways and change to avoid regret  when the labour of the labourer shall end. It is pertinent to state again that the end of man shall come at a time not determinable by age, state of health, personal security put in place or spiritual standing and other social status apparatus. For you not to come to a regrettable end, you must flee the works of the flesh which are manifest in Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like because they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21). You must distance yourself from activities of the flesh and ensure that temporal things are not focussed on above eternal matters, that the carnality of this life is not referenced above spirituality, that the inessentials of life here does not take preeminence over the significants of life hereafter and that momentary pleasure is not allowed to usurp our everlasting treasure (Romans 8:6, 8).

Dear people on this pilgrimage journey, the end is coming very soon and it shall come when you are not expecting it and it may be either today or tomorrow. What does it profit a man if he gains the world and loses his soul (Mk. 8:36). You have a glorious opportunity today to ask God for forgiveness, to surrender your life to Jesus Christ, to make a conscious effort to change and be ready for eternal life. You need to forsake your bad ways today, renounce your membership of those secret cults, end smoking and taking of those dangerous drugs, cry to God to help you, reconcile with those that have offended you, stop being proud, halt being overtly ambitious and distance yourself from the works of the flesh. You must not transgress against the laws of God (1 John 3:4), you must do what is right and not what you like, you must engage in what you are required and not the things you desire and you must be committed to good and charitable works (James 4:17). I pray that you will not end your pilgrimage journey here in regret, in the name of Jesus. Amen!

    • Prayer: Lord, keep me in the path of righteousness to the end in the name of Jesus Christ.

  • I will die playing saxophone in church – Kunle Ajayi

I will die playing saxophone in church – Kunle Ajayi

Pastor Kunle Ajayi popularly known as “PK” is Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s music minstrel in The Redeemed Christian Church of God. In this interview with Adesile Tosin, he talks about his life, church of God and the nation.

Year 2020 has been a year of many revelations looking at COVID-19 and #EndSARS protest in Nigeria. How has it been with you sir?

We thank and praise the almighty God. God has been faithful, and then, we know this year has been very interesting but notwithstanding, God has been so faithful to me and my family, and I think to the church too.

You were born in Mushin area of Lagos State, an area known for rascality; doesn’t that area have any negative impact on you while growing up sir?

It does and by the grace of God, God brought me out and he saved my life which I’m forever grateful for till date.

Mushin being your place of birth and now that God has brought you out of the place, do ever you think of having a rehabilitation program that can also bring people out of the same area God brought you out from many years back?

Even this COVID-19, I went there. Actually l was born in ldi-oro and I went to Akala to distribute some palliatives and you know the church has a place around that Akala and I think we have about two or three churches around idi-oro and they are really doing a good job.

In one of your comments, you said that the Late Fela Anikulapo Kuti inspired you to become a Saxophonist. Fela was an activist, and you are a pastor. How did he inspire you?

He inspired me the way he played good music. Fela played good music and no matter what he says, something’s that he says always makes sense. In the physical, they make sense, and then in spiritual, it makes sense when he was talking about “Water no get enemy” and “Teacher Don’t Teach Me Nonsense, you will find out that it is true.  You know he talked about the political aspect. And then in the world, if you look at the history of the world and the missionary, most of the word came from the church. So we may not be taking active part in political activism but in the Spiritual realm we are. We pray for the nation, we pray for our country and the Lord Commanded us to pray for our leaders, and you know as we pray for them and the nation, something changes in the spiritual realm and it may manifest in the physical much more later.

As big as RCCG is, God has placed you at the helms of affairs of managing the music directorate, how do you go about discharging your responsibilities knowing fully well that the Redeemed Christian Church of God is in all the country of the nations?

Well, you called me music directorate? No, I am actually assisting someone and that is “Daddy G.O”. Pastor Enoch Adeboye fondly called daddy GO is the General Overseer and at the same time, the music directorate is directly under him. And then, you know daddy is highly organized, so we have music coordinators for each province and each country. Each Coordinators report to their provincial headquarters and the report come directly to the National headquarters. So, they have a standard and well organized administration in the church which is still under daddy G.O.

At 56, you still play saxophone very well, do you intend retiring at any particular age?

Why retiring? If i die, I die playing it. And this is what we do when we get to heaven. The Bible tells us that, and everybody sing it. I am sure we will also play musical instrument because we are talking about House of Gold. There will be a saxophone up there.

Many years back, God directed you to Daddy Adeboye, and since then, God has changed the name people used to call you when you were small, how do you feel? Do you have any regret?

Ahh! You have said it all. You know, there is no regret about that and I have no regret all. My life has changed and it has changed for life, and forever changed for good.

Do you have any gratitude you want to send to Pastor E A Adeboye?

Yes, I am eternally grateful to daddy and mummy G.O for adopting me as their child and I will forever be grateful.

As a saxophonist, how do you unwind despite your schedule and because anywhere we see daddy GO, we usually see you, and then that means you are a very very busy man. So how do you unwind?

I play table tennis and I have it in my house. When I relax, i watch Sports and also read books. I also listen to good music to unwind myself.

Do you have any album you are working on?

There is an album we are working on that is also featuring Nathaniel Bassey and artists from one Hallelujah Records like Tosin bee, MOZ, Bidemi Olaoba and Femi Okunuga which is coming out very soon.

We know you are now a grandfather, how do you feel to be one?

I feel good and l feels happy and l am grateful to God for making me a grandfather.

Are you still in touch with Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria. Because, we were made to believe that every gospel artistes is a member?

I am in touch with them, even though I am not an active member, due to the nature of my job and because of what I’m doing right now. And I believe one day if God permit I will be an active member, but for now, I am in touch with some of them and with the present governor of GOMAN in Lagos.

Any advice for the government at this point in time while the nation is still experiencing so many challenges, what do you have to tell the government?

The government should listen to God, and when people governing us know God, they will do exactly what God ask them to do to the people and they should listen to advice. It is not wrong for the people to advise them.

They should listen to the advice, weigh it and look at the area in which they will improve the life of the people. God hears the prayer of the poor and the bible says when the poor cries, God hears so if God can hear the prayers of the people, I think the government should also listen to the people they are governing.

And then if there are no people, there is no government. So I think the government should listen and seek God, seeking God is the best thing; while you have the fear of God you would great things. Doing the fear of God will help the nation a lot. If we have the fear of God, you would be to do the right things for the people and not for personal use.

Many of the people in government don’t have the fear of the Lord; some of them that do have the fear of God don’t do what God says. In all, they should seek and fear God

The Bible says, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Wisdom is needed to rule the nation and to have the fear of God is to seek God.

So many young people want to be like you, they have been watching you playing Saxophone whenever Baba wants to preach and they just love your style. So what do you have to tell upcoming saxophonist or those still young in playing it?

My advice is that they should be sure of what they want to do, they should be patient, hardworking, diligent and also be diligent in the word of God, things of God, and by the grace of God, sky will be their limit. Lastly, they should be very disciplined in every area of their lives.

  • ‘40 years in ministry has been fulfilling’

‘40 years in ministry has been fulfilling’

Prophet Bisi Olujobi is the General Overseer of Wisdom Church. He clocks 60 years today and has also been in the Ministry for 40 years. In this encounter with Yetunde Oladeinde, he goes down memory recalling how it all started, mentors in the Ministry, the priorities of early Christians and more.

Life at 60 for the man of God, who hails from Ikere Ekiti, is awesome. First, he is grateful to God for Mercies, the Ministry as well as the Grace of God upon his wife and children. Happily he goes down memory lane talking about early life with his parents, Mr.  Sam Olujobi and mum Jaiyeola Olujobi.

“I was born in Jaiyeola compound in Ikere Ekiti and the place is called Odo-Oja.

I went to Primary and secondary school there. I later went to a vocational school for further training. It was after all this that I went to the Bible College for Theological Studies. My career started with Furniture business and I did this for sometime before I started buying and selling cars. Later, I decided to go into full time Ministry. Interestingly, it has been 40 years in the Ministry this year”.

Scroll down to the early days as a Minister of the Gospel and he recalls that: “It wasn’t easy at the beginning. If not for the Grace of God, It wouldn’t have been this successful. I give God all the Glory. All the things, I was doing just before I went into the Ministry, I had to abandon and focus on the Ministry”.

Determined to serve the Lord fervently, the journey took Young Olujobi to different churches. This included the Apostolic Church, Celestial Church and CAC.” I did my training with Baba Olowere in CAC, Oke Agbara in Ibadan. I also had the grace to work with a number of other churches before God gave me the Grace to start my own church, Wisdom church fully in 1990″…

Looking back, he recounts how he started his first church at Felele, Ibadan. “Then we were holding the fellowships under the tree, and then we moved to a room, by a window and also in the parlor. We did it just anywhere we found space at that point. After a while, we rented a space and later God provided a land for us at Osunsami. We continued the Journey up till the point when God told us to come to Lagos. We then settled in Lagos and did exploit for the Lord”.

In the process Olujobi met five Ministers that played a significant role in his life and the Ministry. “They include Baba Olowore, Pastor Lawal, then of the Deeper Life. P. F Owa of Christ Revival Miracle Center and Pastor Femi Emmanuel of Livingstone Church. I also remember Papa J.V Solomon, he is late now. Pastor Emmanuel is my friend and Mentor. If I want to do anything I will call him and he also does the same. There is also the younger generation of Ministers that I mentor”.

Asked to compare church life, when he started then and now, Olujobi responded this way:  “We cannot compare the two at all. Things have really changed. A lot of things have changed and I recall that we didn’t talk about prosperity. We were more focused on heaven and we avoided sin because it wasn’t an option.”

Unfortunately, those things are trending now.  “Our prayer did not focus on money or prosperity. Instead, we sought for power from the almighty. Things were much better. Now, all people crave for is a church with a multitude, yet there is no fear of God. Then, we believed that without fear and Grace from God, you cannot achieve much”.

He continued: “Then there were lots of rules don’t wear earrings, don’t wear earrings, don’t watch TV, dress modestly and so on. But now, things are so bad. Sin is everywhere, pride and arrogance everywhere. Some people don’t even know that pride is sin. That was why Christians in those days didn’t have the grace to go into politics. Now, everyone including pastors is waxing in sin. Adultery is the order of the day”.

The younger generation, his advice needs to go back to the drawing board and put their trust in God. “The Social Media has exposed then to a lot of things. I think that only God can advise them. I pray that the power of God would touch them. That is why it is important for the youths to search for God and have the fear of God. Sadly, only a few of our youths are not in cults these days. Some of them would be going to church, yet they would be in one bad group or the other. If they stop all this, there life would become better. David was just 17 years when God touched him, Samuel was also young. We need young and dedicated people like this to change the world and our country”.

Just before he leaves, Olujobi takes time to talk about the invasion of Fulani Herdsmen and what those in authority should do about it. His words:”We must allow peace to reign. When we were young we lived in peace with everyone, Hausa people would come to our farms, those from Benue would plant and rare goats as well as dug wells for us. Unfortunately, our leaders have been non- challant about this Fulani herdsmen invasion. I think that the President should address them and let them know their limits. It is even dangerous now that they are moving around with AK47 rifles”.

  • Cleric urges churches to pray for peace

Cleric urges churches to pray for peace

    By Adeola Ogunlade

The Senior Pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church Eagle’s Wings, Ibadan, Pastor Joseph Akinade has urged Churches to keep praying for peace, love and righteousness in Nigeria.

Akinade said this in an interview recently, said that “I want to urge all churches in the country not to relent in their prayers for peace to reign in the country. This country needs special prayers. What is going on in Nigeria now is not normal and it is unusual. This means we need fervent prayers.

The cleric said events happening in in the country strongly indicate that fervent prayers were needed to bring an end to bad governance.

Viewing that failure to fervently pray will amount to regrets, Akinade warned politicians to desist from discarding campaign promises, adding that clerics be mindful of the politicians they pray for especially during campaigns.

He said, “If Christians and the church at large do not pray now, it will bounce back on us. There is a certain spirit involved. Before you become a leader in Nigeria, you become very nice, but immediately you get to the position, your attitude will change”.

“You may not even know your pastor again. You only make promises without fulfilling them. Before the next election, we need to talk to Christians in politics so that if any pastor wants to pray for any politician, he would need to be very careful because clerics that did so in the past are being affected now”.

Meanwhile, he encouraged Christians to be actively involved in politics, as he shared, “It is very right to go into politics. If we say Christians should not go into politics that means we won’t have any say in the affairs of the country. I see Vice-President Osinbajo as a representative of Christians in government, but the problem we have is that he is not allowed to perform as he would want to and people are aware of this.

“If he tries to do more than he has done, we do not know what may happen. Above all, it is very good for Christians to go into politics. As for me, I do not know anything about politics; some take it as a profession. If any member of my church is in politics, the church will enjoy and pray for him, till he gets to the position. It is good for Christians to go into politics, when we say ‘Christians’, I mean the born-again Christians”.

“The world has turned upside down now, and it is only our prayers as good Christians that can transform the country. We have also failed as a church because we are not doing the right thing. It is one thing to get there and start misbehaving, but if our prayers go with them, they will do well.”

  • Why leadership matters

    Why leadership matters

    By Kenny Folarin

In the light of the tremendous stress laid upon the leadership role in both secular and religious world, it is a general principle that we can influence and lead others only so far as we ourselves have gone. The person most likely to be successful is the one who leads not by merely pointing the way but by having trodden it himself. We are leaders to the extent that we inspire others to follow us.

Almost everyone is called to lead in some capacity. A father leads their family, parents lead their children, a teacher leads students, a pastor leads the church, everyone leads someone. The person you follow determines your inspiration and aspirations.

The difference between management and leadership is chiefly in the way those being managed or led are motivated.

So for those of us that are in leadership positions, here are some timeless models for today’s leaders:

Integrity: Leaders are people of integrity. They have every dimension of their lives centered in consistent obedience to God. There are no “closets,” no hidden areas that can’t bear public scrutiny. They live above board in their financial dealings, sexual behavior and in family life. No area of their lives is out of control. Physical, emotional and spiritual discipline is expressed.

Their motives for doing things are pure. People can easily detect dishonest measures or questionable ethics. Following the path of least resistance, such practices usually filter down from the top and begin to permeate the whole organization. A Leader should “walk the talk.” Also, like the one who leads others, you should have a set of values that guides your actions and show the consistency of motives in your character and conduct.

The power of example- a life lived out loud- speaks volumes, beyond any leadership book or seminar, conference, molding young leaders around us who are forming opinions, receiving impressions and drawing conclusions about life and all the possibilities. Whether you’re a Christian leader or secular leader, your character will impact on how far goals are reached in your organization when you adhere to a robust set of principles and take responsibility for your actions; you will be exhibiting integrity.

Authenticity: Authenticity encompasses trustworthiness, openness, empathy and being real.

People are becoming very wary of leaders who are fake, narcissistic, secretive or self-serving. Teams are getting bolder at calling out destructive character traits that impact their livelihood and the corporate world. The best leaders today are authentic; it’s how we connect and build trust in our teams and organizations.

Vision: As a leader you should have both foresight and insight. When you do, you will be able to envision the result of the policies, strategies or methods you advocates. You need always to look ahead to see how systems proposed will affect not only the present but succeeding generations.

Although leaders are typically good at vision casting, your followers need to know and buy into your vision. A leader needs to have the ability to inspire and influence the thinking, attitudes, and behavior of people under the scope of his influence. You have to know how to set ideas, people, organization, and societies in motion; someone who takes followers on a journey to the fulfillment of the vision. The foundation for improvement, change, and progress is a vision.

Communication and ‘Soft Skills’: “Soft skills” like communication, listening and public speaking have become crucial in the day- to-day leadership and corporate environment. Without effective communication, as leaders you’re just a figureheads. Focusing on the interpersonal interactions, you can reach individuals where they are and connect better.

Open-mindedness: One of the most significant traits global leaders have is that they are exceptionally adaptable, which implies they will change course and adjust to additional active measures as soon as their paradigm becomes limiting. They are also open to criticism and are readily accessible to run ideas by and open to communication. They gather ideas and information from a variety of political, economic and cultural sources, this gives them a well-rounded view, protects them from groupthink and fortifies what is true in their own heart and mind.

Diplomacy: Leadership demands skill in dealing with persons or sensitive situations. As a leader, you need to have the ability to reconcile viewpoints without giving offense or compromising principle. In the leader and follower relationship, As a leader you must be able to conduct delicate negotiations and mediate in matters concerning personnel in a way that recognizes mutual rights and yet leads to a harmonious solution.

Self- control: Leaders cannot control their external world until they can control their internal world. The most potent form of government is self-government. The wise King Solomon once said; “He who is easing back to outrage is superior to the relentless, and he who governs his soul than he who takes a city.” Self- discipline is one of the significant characteristics of a leader. Indiscipline causes a leader to lose his or her influence.

The appetites for food, drink, sleep, and sex is legitimate; but when we violate God’s laws to satisfy ourselves, or we become addicted to these appetites, we lose our moral authority.

Love: Love helps a leader appreciate each person’s worth, recognize their potential and creates the desire to add value to them. When love is absent, greed, envy, selfishness, malice, rejection, hatred and such vices manifest in abundance. When you do not love the people you lead, it causes the spread of the cancer of self- centeredness in the system. The way leaders treat people is the way the people also treat one another.

One word that describes the act of love is the word respect. Everyone deserves a measure of respect. We should use the words “Sir” and “Madam’ generously not minding the status of the person being addressed. Love empowers you as a leader and increases your influence.

Team building: Leaders build a strong relationship with team members, relationship matters, there is a place for good people skills. Connections are the magic that binds followers, and these relationships are built on trust, mutual respect, and loyalty. Certainly, there is a tendency for teams to be factionalized because of cultural, technological and ideological differences. As a leader, you need to develop effective skills to manage team conflict.

Steadiness while remaining adaptable: Technological advancements are happening at a rapid pace, which affects the way leaders do business often. Inflexible leadership causes organizations to lag behind competitors, which could ultimately lead to losing market share – or worse, becoming obsolete. Staying on the cutting edge of any industry requires flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to the changes in the marketplace for you as a leader and the team you lead.

Global Mindset: As a leader, you should be open to diverse perspectives in the decision-making process. Although you can have strong opinions, your leadership proclivities allow for interaction with others who may have alternative views and solutions. These protect you from your blind spots and makes you less likely to make avoidable mistakes. It is important you look out for best practices and systems to achieve your goals and objectives. Don’t be threatened by other gifted followers or leaders, but be energized by them, their passion and their ideas. You need to appreciate elements of different cultures and open your heart wide to recognize and deal with your own internally held prejudices and those of the ones you are leading.

Share the power: As a global leader, you should have a multi-generational approach that equips younger leaders/followers to be more effective than the previous generation. These include intentionally integrating young leaders into your decision-making process, as well as major organizational initiatives. These also involve creating opportunities for them to express creativity, to make mistakes and become a better leader. There are things you will never be able to do, and potentials in you that you will never realize until you share your power and influence with others. They understand that good leaders empower others.

Regardless of who it is you’re leading—followers or leaders—leadership is never easy.

But when you’re a leader who is leading others, some basic principles will make a difference. The key to being a great follower is to be an imitator. A copycat. As Kyle Idleman says, it’s about being a follower, not a fan. Fans standoff in the distance and admire; followers get up close and stay in step with a person’s every move.

The truth is this principle isn’t just for leaders; it’s the key to being a great human being generally.

The real test of the effectiveness of the leader is this: Are your people better off when they leave than when they arrived?

Are your employees more employable, better people, and have they grown more as a result of your leadership and influence?

“We implore all our state governors to rise to their primary responsibility of ensuring the security of lives and properties of all the inhabitants of the states that they govern.  They should not go to sleep, while terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and other hoodlums are having a field day terrorizing and brutalizing the innocent citizens within their domains.”, they said.

Lauding the discovery of COVID-19 vaccine, the Bishops said that the Nigeria populace should take the pandemic seriously, and” not scoff at it as a hoax”,
