  • Encomium as cleric buries father

The Senior Pastor of Grace Family International Church, Rev. Deola Ojo, last weekend buried her late father, Chief Emmanuel Adeoye Adisa, in Ibadan, Oyo State amidst tears and encomiums.

Adisa, an elder statesman and former Minister for Home Affairs and Information and later Minister for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters in the old Western  Region of Nigeria, passed on to glory on November 16, 2015 at 97.

At the commendation service of the late renowned politician at The Cathedral of St. Peter, Aremo, Ibadan, Oyo State, the Vicar, Rev. Ayodeji Ayodele, urged everyone to draw lessons from the life of the deceased.

Adisa, he said, was not only a highly principled community leader with impeccable character but also deeply compassionate and close to God before his death.

The cleric said though Pa Adisa’s death was painful, Nigerians would never forget that he lived a life full of integrity, honour and selfless service.

He appealed to those in the political class to emulate him by eschewing politics of bitterness, hatred and tribalism, which he stood for before his death.

He noted that the report of accolades and tributes poured on the deceased had identified him to be a committed leader to issues relating to the welfare of his people and community at large.

Rev. Ayodele, who consoled the family, further expressed his conviction that the late Pa Adisa’s attitude and commitment to better the lives of the people in particular and the community in general would always live after him.

In her emotion laden brief speech at the commendation service, Rev. Deola Ojo expressed appreciation for her late father’s life, love, humour, zest for life, sacrifice and absolute devotion to not only his children but everybody around him.

Pa Adisa’s son-in-law, Rev. Yinka Ojo, thanked the Almighty for allowing the deceased to live a fulfilled life.

He stressed that his monumental achievements as a legal luminary of high repute, astute politician, community leader and elder statesman were unequalled.

  • Provoking fulfilment of prophecies through praise!

We understand from scriptures that the process of seeing prophecies fulfilled is warfare. That means, it takes putting up a fight to see prophecies fully delivered. This is because every plan and purpose of God for man is more often than not resisted by the devil from being delivered. As it is written: Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle (Deuteronomy 2:24; see also 1 Timothy 1:18).

For instance, it was God’s divine agenda for Israel to be in Egypt for 400 years but they were held captive by the gods of Egypt for 30 extra years. As a result, it took the mighty hand of God, His outstretched arm, His great terribleness in dealing with all oppositions on their way and His divine power in signs and wonders to see that prophecy fulfilled. The Bible says: And the Lord brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders (Deuteronomy 26:8; see also Genesis 15:13-15).

This gives us a picture of the warfare involved in seeing prophecies fulfilled. We must understand that every prophetic word is an open door that attracts many adversaries. It is written: For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries (1 Corinthians 16:9).

When these adversaries are allowed, they contend with, resist and withstand us from experiencing the fulfilment of prophecies in our lives. That is why we are admonished in scriptures to: Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses (1Timothy 6:12).

We are to put up a fight against all satanic strongholds to see God’s plans fulfilled in our lives. When God steps in, our battles are won without sweat because the ultimate of our victory is God’s intervention. We must recognize that engaging God’s direct intervention in our battles guarantees continuous triumph.  However, securing God’s presence requires praise.

Most of our battles, particularly warfare towards fulfilment of prophecy, will require God stepping in for us to command victory. This is because only the hand of God can fully deliver His plan. It is written: …Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled (1 Kings 8:15). It is important to note that praise is a spiritual facilitator of the hand of God because He inhabits the praise of His people.

Let’s examine some scriptural instances where toughest battles were won through praise.

    • When the Israelites left Egypt, they sang praises to God. At the instance of their praise, the Red Sea gave way to God’s presence. It is written: Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? (Exodus 15:11; see also Exodus 14:13-15, 15:20-21). They retained God’s presence for forty years, because the praise required to keep Him in their midst, was in place.
    • By word of prophecy, God said to Judah: …Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s. To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you (2 Chronicles 20:14-17).

As they obeyed, God set ‘ambushment’ against their enemies and they were all smitten, thus fulfilling the prophetic word from the Lord (2 Chronicles 20:22).

v            Also, a combination of a ‘long blast’ trumpet and a ‘long blast’ shout of praise as instructed by God brought down the wall of Jericho. The Bible says: So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city (Joshua 6:20; see also Joshua 6:1-5,15-16; Psalms 47:1-2).

    • The prison gates gave way to Paul and Silas through praise: The Bible says: If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed (John 8:36).

Paul and Silas could not be free without praise. In spite of their hands being bound, they prayed and sang aloud, and God stepped in. The Bible records: And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed (Acts 16:26).

    • Furthermore, as Jesus gave thanks, Lazarus came back to life. Concerning Jesus, the Bible says: Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live (John 5:25).

Until Jesus engaged the mystery of thanksgiving at the tomb of Lazarus, that prophecy was not fulfilled (John 11:41-44).

From the above instances, it means that every shout of praise always steers God into action. That is, God will only come down in response to our praises, and until God comes down, prophecies may not be fully realised. That means, until we engage in praise warfare, we may not experience full delivery of prophecies (Psalms 22:3).

We must therefore understand that though every prophetic word is a sworn verdict from God or through His prophets, it must be activated in faith through the mystery of praise before it can be delivered. Thus, to see prophecies fulfilled, we must rejoice evermore like Hannah, who at the instance of the prophetic word from Eli wore a joyful countenance and prophecy was fulfilled in her life (1 Samuel 1:13-19; Isaiah 14:24).

Henceforth, as we see the mystery of praise as an irrefutable platform for divine intervention and engage same with all our heart and might, God will personally intervene in our affairs in Jesus’ name! Remain ever blessed!

Are you born again? This means, have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord? If you haven’t, you can do so by saying this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the Living God. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now I know I am born again!”

  • Methodist factory agrees to launder donated bed sheets

The laundry arm of the Methodist Tailoring Factory, which outfits and makes various garments for priests, choirs and the academic community, has accepted to launder the bed sheets donated by the Hospital Chaplaincy, West Cathedral Olowogbowo to two wards in the Lagos State General Hospital (ODAN) last December.

The factory said it would launder the bed sheets at concessionary prices to prolong their longevity.

The Chaplaincy had donated  200 bed spreads and pillow cases as well as eight ‘32’ inches LED Television sets, 20 wall fans and two decoders to one of the male and female wards in the hospital.

The Chaplaincy also shared hundred copies of the bibles among the patients.

Head of the Chaplaincy, Rev. ‘Bola Oyeledun, said the gesture from the factory was a welcome relief that will enhance the works of the organisation.

He stressed the body has been impacting lives and reaching out to the less-privileged with a view to promoting good governance and complementing government efforts.

He enjoined Nigerians to influence their community positively when it is within their capacity to do so, stressing that government alone cannot provide all the social amenities needed in the hospital.

Oyeledun told our correspondent last week: “The offer is most welcome. It will preserve the luster of the bed sheets and enable more patients to use them longer.

“This is strategic partnership at work and we are most grateful for it.”

  • Cleric predicts national restoration in 2016

God is ready to restore the nation’s lost glories in 2016, the general overseer of Christ Salvation Christian Center (Aka Son Of Jehovah Outreach) Lagos, Prophet Adesoji Abegunde, has declared.

Speaking to reporters in the Ikorodu headquarters of the church, Abegunde said though restoration needs gradual process, it will happen this year if Nigerians give God a chance.

According to him: “God revealed to me Nigerians should start rejoicing because 2016 is going to be a year of great restoration.

“Although restoration is a gradual thing but I see that the government of President Buhari is going to do better for Nigerians if they can be patient to allow him gather all that have been scattered and put together all that spoilers have destroyed in this nation.”

The former vice chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Kosofe council stated that if Buhari refuses to tackle corruption that has become a national monster, Nigeria can never progress.”

He encouraged Buhari to be strong in his bid to rid Nigeria of corruption, pointing that that he will excel though such stance will naturally create challenges for him.

Abegunde added: “God revealed to me that between 2016 and 2017, the President’s seat will be shaken. People will attack his government but those who plan the attack would be exposed.”

  • ‘Why local churches must be healthy’

‘Why local churches must be healthy’

Church growth expert, Dr Francis Akin-John, spoke with Sunday Oguntola on how local churches are falling by the side and how to stem the tide in a line with a new campaign he just launched. Excerpts:

You just kicked a campaign tagged Healthy Local Church Africa. Are you planning to cover the entire continent?

If God opens the doors, why not? From reliable research, Christianity has experienced geometrical increase in the last 100 years in Africa. At the turn of the decade, they were just about 60 million Christians in Africa. But just 25 years ago, Christianity has shot up to 760millions. But a lot of them are not in any local church.

    So, where are they?

A lot of them have left churches because of disenchantment with how we handle things. We are large in congregational meetings but we are short on discipleship and spiritual health. So, our intention is to have healthy local churches in the continent.

It appears like a tall dream. How do you intend to go about it?

We intend to organise seminars and conduct training for churches and ministers.  We want to provide quality books, tapes and resources. We are also looking at consultancy and looking at how to help churches, either big or small denominations, to train their pastors in true church health. For example, a lot of denominations centralise operations in such a way that local churches are not allowed to function healthily.

They are just there but not reaching their communities for impact. So, we intend to educate and mobilise church leaders to begin to allow local churches function. That’s the only way we can reach communities. The idea of centralising everything is killing innovations and affecting the health of local churches.

When you say centralising operations, what do you have in mind?

If you look at things very keenly in churches, we do things the way goverment is centralised in our nation. The center is strong the states and locals are weak. Yet, it is the resources of the states that make the centre strong

It means a mega church with branches that are not allowed to function and grow. They are functionally, financially and morally tied to the headquarters. They remit 90 percent, sometime100 percent of their revenues to the central body.

The control is so much that they cannot function or grow on their own. Everything is subjected to what happens at the headquarters. That is what is killing local churches in Africa. Yes, we can start churches and have a measure of control in terms of monitoring their doctrines and pastoral authorities.

But they need autonomy to grow on their own and move at their pace for growth. Take for example the issue of pastoral transfer has killed many local churches. Yes, transfer is good in some situations but when pastors are transferred every one,two years, it is killing.

When people know a pastor will soon be transferred, they won’t support him like they should. Research has shown that a local church will grow faster when people know the pastor has come to stay for a long time. If you check churches that are growing worldwide, the pastor has been there for 20, 25 years.

What are the other factors that affect the health of local churches?

Another factor is competence of pastors. Many local pastors do not know the peculiar nature of their environment. Then, you have to also consider the administrative structures of many local churches. Many of them are faulty. Many of our churches only focus on Sunday and mid-week services. There is nothing on growing people and the communities. There is nothing on specific departments and groupings. Most people that worship in local churches only meet once. They are not bonding together and the love of Christ is not there.

In most African churches, we have established elders and council members that have money but do not have the qualities of Christ. In some cases too, we have good elders that have to contend with bad pastors.

Shouldn’t pastors be accountable also to church authorities in any way?

Oh, they should be accountable. They must be accountable to God and the boards of the church. The church should not be a one-man show. The pastor must be a servant and the first among equals. The pastor should never see himself as the Alpha and Omega.

He has to overcome inferiority complex and not fail to accept suggestions and criticisms from others. If he considers himself above all of these, he will create problems in the local church. He will drive away a lot of good people that want to contribute to the growth of the church genuinely.

So, this campaign is for the next ten years?

Yes, it is. But I’m afraid it will be for the rest of my life. I don’t see myself doing anything different from this henceforth. With the kind of insights, information and passion that God has given, I will do this for the rest of my life across the globe.

Why concentrate on local, instead of global or mega churches?

It is local churches that make global church. Global churches are created from local churches. It is through local churches that we can make communal impact. If you see denominations that boast of having many branches, ask them how many of them are truly healthy.

Mega churches are created from local churches. If the local churches are not healthy, the global church is finished. They are the basis units of Christianity. If local churches are making impact in their communities, we’d soon cover the world for God. The sad thing is that we don’t care for local churches. Most district heads and provincial pastors are only interested in financial reports from local churches.

It is at the local church level that we can mould lives and disciple people. If we fail there, we will fail everywhere else. It is unfortunate that most local churches spend 90 percent of time, money and resources erecting physical structures. Nothing is wrong with that but if we pay as little as half of that on building people for the Lord, we will have changed the world. Some people talk of building institutions but they fail to realise that it is man that build institutions.

If the man is not built, no institution will stand. Man has always been the plan of God. Build a godly man for God and he will build healthy institutions. My fear is that if we continue building structures and not people, we will soon have the same scenario happening across Europe.

You see many massive structures without people. Many churches have become monuments. Those structures only get filled with frightened worshippers when there are terrorist attacks, funerals or New Year, as we see recently in Europe. It is happening here already. We have structures but we are not building people.

Is the concept of a healthy church not just idealistic? Is it really possible to have a healthy church?

The answer is absolutely and categorically yes. It is not idealism. Everyone seeks medical health. When there is any threat, we rest, take drugs or go to the hospitals. We don’t wait till we are sick to seek help. It is the same with the church because it is the body of Christ.

If you ask can the church the healthy? I will throw it back can the human body be healthy? Yes, it can. You are here because your body is healthy. So, if you can be healthy, the body of Christ too can be healthy.

There are criteria to consider knowing if a church is healthy. One is a healthy pastor who is competent. That church must have started by God’s expressed directive. Also, there must be healthy relationship. Then, there must be healthy members that are changed and transformed.

There must also be loving atmosphere, not an environment where we gossip and back-bite one another. People must be able to use their gifts and endowments. You mustn’t pull down people because they are gifted.

The idea of a healthy church is not about perfection. There can be no perfect church because it is full of people with fallible and mistakes. So it is not canvassing for a perfect church but a growing, rapturable church.

Church health is not a utopian or figment of imagination. It is possible. It may not happen in a year but we keep working at it. Those who want healthy bodies watch what they eat and how they live. It is the same with the church. We can’t just run church without periodic check-ups. Big things don’t kill churches; it is small things that kill off churches.

    Small things like what?

Like a pastor falling into moral or financial failure; like not living in peace in the community. Constituting a nuisance through noise or parking indiscriminately. If you are at loggerheads with your neighbours, it will kill the church. Like someone falling into immorality and we refuse to discipline him or her, it will kill the church.

If there is grumbling and murmuring yet we ignore them, it will kill the church. Pastors believe once people are coming and the anointing is working, the church is fine. That is erroneous. Physical bigness is not a sign of healthiness. You can be big and be unhealthy.

  • Support Buhari with prayers’

The General Overseer, Stand on His Promises Evangelical Mission Lagos, Rev Caleb Babatope, has urged Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to enable him take the nation to higher level.

The cleric spoke during the unveiling of this year’s revelations.

He said the current administration will only achieve its missions only if all hands were on deck.

He said better days were coming only if all Nigerians, and that irrespective of their status, they should contribute their quota to effect changes in the country.

The cleric appealed to Nigeria’s political stalwarts and public office holders to have same focus with President Muhammadu Buhari as he is trying to bring country out of the sinking boat.

This, he said, could only be attained if all could shun corruption and politics of bloodshed.

Rev Babatope urged the leaders to have passion for love according to the God’s commandment.

He appealed to them to always remember to assist the less-privileged and also embark on skills empowerment programmes that would benefit the masses.

He urged youths to stop looking for instant and undeserved breakthroughs, miracles and prosperity.

The cleric appealed to religious leaders to stop inviting youths to morning or afternoon programmes when they should be on the field striving for livelihood, stating manna does not fall from heaven and no man can bribe God.

  • Godliness: God’s condition for greatness

In last week’s teaching, we discovered that greatness is one of our redemptive rights in Christ Jesus, but without godliness we cannot access same. Furthermore, we understood that our greatest battles in life are against the spirit of the world. As such, we cannot overcome the forces of sin without engaging the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Again, from scriptures, we understand that the spirit of the world manifests as: the lust of the eyes: wanting everything at any cost; the lust of the flesh: sexual perversion of all kinds and the pride of life: a destroyer of destiny (1 Corinthians 2:12; 1 Corinthians 3:17; 1 John 2:15-17). As we begin this week’s edition, let’s examine Some Bible Characters, who became victims of these manipulations.

    • Achan: He was caught with the goodly Babylonian garment and a wedge of gold. Though he confessed and repented, it was too late. The Bible says that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us; but it was too late for Achan. I pray that it will not be too late for to repent from that sin in the name of Jesus! (Joshua 7:20-21 &25).
    • Judas: This man already had his name written in the Book Of Life but Satan got him (Luke 22:3). In Matthew 27:3-5, he also repented but it was too late.
    • Solomon: He loved God so much that God came from heaven in response to his offering (1 Kings 3:3-5). But in 1 Kings 11:1, the Bible says: ‘…Solomon loved many strange women.’ You will agree with me that it would take some level of demonic influence to have 700 wives and 300 concubines. That was why Solomon ended his journey in vanity (1 Kings 11:1-4; Ecclesiastes 1:1-2).
    • Samson: Samson was a one-man winning army, but when he went after Delilah he ended up in horror and his eyes were plucked out. Thereafter, he became a toy in the hands of people he had once conquered. God will always forgive us for anything, if our repentance is not late (Judges 16:1-31; Isaiah 55:6).

How to Overcome the spirit of the World

It is important to know that we cannot overcome the spirit of the world without engaging the Spirit of God. This is because the Spirit of God, which is the also the Spirit of Holiness is the only cure for the filthiness of the spirit and the flesh. As it is written: Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead (Romans 1:4). From the above scripture, it is clear that Jesus need the Spirit of Holiness to operate in the Spirit and not in the flesh, all through His earth ministry. Therefore, if we must overcome the spirit of the world, we must engage the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

How does the Holy Spirit do this?

It is written: But who may abide the day of his coming? And who shall stand when he appeareth? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former years. And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the Lord of hosts (Malachi 3:2-5).

    • As the Refiner’s Fire: He burns away every chaff of sin in us. This is because His job is to purify and refine us to be fit for God’s use. The Holy Spirit is available to all that truly desire and demand His empowerment. Therefore, it is time to hunger and thirst after Him in order to live holy lives (Matthew 3:11-12; Luke 11:13).
    • As God’s fuller Soap: He is the highest quality soap that is able to remove any stain of sin from our lives.

    Blessings of the Overcomer

When we have constant fellowship with the Holy Spirit, we become overcomers in the fight against the forces of darkness, and the following are the blessings that accrue to us:

    • Prosperity (Psalms 112:1-3).
    • Answers to prayers (Job 42:8).
    • Divine health (John 5:14).
    • Protection (Psalms 91:1-2; Psalms 15:1-4).
    • We enjoy a heaven on earth lifestyle (Revelation 2:7; Romans 10:6-10).
    • Only overcomers will make heaven and receive the crowns of life (Revelation 2:11; 3:5, 21).
    • God empowers us for dominion over nations on earth (Revelation 2:26).
    • God sets us as pillars in His house (Revelation 3:12; Galatians 2:9).

Everything about our destiny both in this time and eternity has to do with our sanctification. It is not enough to be sanctified, we must stay sanctified. As we all know, once sanctified is not always sanctified (1 Corinthians 10:12).

Some time ago, God gave me this Word for His people: “Strive to please Me and I will take you to the next level in your business and career. Purge yourself and I will change your level. Stay clean and you won’t stop flying.” As you obey this instruction, God will break protocol for you and change you level from glory to glory in the name of Jesus Christ! You are blessed!

Are you born again? This means to accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord? If you haven’t and you wish to do so, say this prayer and you shall be born again: “Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the Living God. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now I know I am born again!”

  • Shun materialism, GSK tasks Christians

he Chairman, Executive Board God’s Kingdom Society (GSK), Brother Godwin Ifeacho has called on Christians to shun materialism and remain watchful as the coming of the Lord draws near.

Ifeacho spoke last Sunday at the one-week long Christian Feast of Tabernacles organised by the church at the St Urhobo Square, Salem City, Warri, Delta State.

The programme attracted thousands across the country with bible lecture, musical festival, children assembly and Christian possession.

The high point was when members from Lagos, Oyo, Calabar, Abuja, Kano, Edo, walked from Urhobo town to Sapele to stadium road in Delta state with much fanfare.

Ifeacho said Christians must not make acquisition of material things their main preoccupation.

According to him:  “It is the blessings of God that gives true riches which one will enjoy with peace and which most importantly gives one everlasting life in God’s kingdom when fully established by Gods grace. That is what we should seek after.”

He highlighted the vanity of inordinate and insatiable desire for material things with the erroneous belief that one’s life is secured by abundance.

“We are not sufficient of ourselves and so we have to acknowledge that it is by the grace of God that our plans, which are according to his will, would bear fruit or be successful,” he stressed.

He lamented that unbridled quest for materialism has created massive corruption, which is killing the nation.

“Corruption is the single most critical contemporary threat to development, democracy and human security in Nigeria.

“It is responsible for most of the conflicts that are presented in ethnic and religious terms,” he said.

He lamented many church leaders cannot teach their adherents to live godly lives, be diligent and to continue in well doing.

Instead, he said they make people believe that gain is godliness or evidence of blessing from God.

  • Liberation Assembly donates foodstuffs, cloths

Liberation Assembly Church International Ogba, Lagos has donated bags of rice and clothing materials to the less-privileged.

The donation was the highpoint of the international convention of the church recently.

The General Overseer, Apostle George Chidiebere, said the gesture was in recognition of the fact that hunger remains the biggest challenge facing many orphans, widows and less privileged.

Chidiebere also pointed out that hunger is one of the major causes of sickness in the country.

“It is more dangerous than AIDS. It is more dangerous than tuberculosis but it is less considered. Therefore, we have taken time to galvanise forces to integrate like minds to make the society hunger-free.”

He stressed such support means a lot to the poor because “there are many who can’t afford a cup of rice.”

United States of America preacher, Pastor William Bumphus, who was visiting the church, said only the merciful will obtain mercy.

Bumphus said many are suffering in the country, stating the only way to help is for the children of God to come together and assist those who are poor.

  • Foundation advises Buhari on subsidy

The Sabitiyu Alare Foundation (SAF) has praised the efforts of the federal government in reducing the price of petrol to N86.50 and kerosene to N50.00 per litre.

In a release by the chairman of the foundation, Primate Ayoola Omonigbehin, President Muhammadu Buhari is charged to prevail on the judiciary to speed up the trial of corrupt cases and recover looted funds. Omonigbehin said that “2016 will be a good year of God’s guiding will and a year of God’s vengeance for the wicked at heart.”

Omonigbehin disagrees with the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) in its attempt to resist oil subsidy removal by the federal government. He counselled the General-Secretary of the NLC, Dr. Peter Ozo-Oson, to properly study the regulatory principles of labour unions as solution to poverty of a nation, saying, “we advise you, Mr. Ozo-Oson, not to politicise politics with industrial relations to the disadvantage of national development.”

He said government’s refusal to decisively deal with corrupt cases has been an enhancer of acts of kidnapping, terrorism and the cluelessness of the youths which makes them get addicted to hard drugs.
