  • Baptist Seminary holds Independence Day prayer

Over 1000 people including worshippers, Seminary students and visitors gathered at the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary Chapel, Ogbomoso , Oyo State  last Wednesday to celebrate  the 55th Nigeria National Independence Day.

The Guest Speaker, Mr. Kayode Robert Idowu, in his paper titled, The Role of Spiritual Leaders in Nigerian Political Process’ said, “Spiritual leaders in the days of old exercised complete oversight on governance. Kings did not ascend to the throne of old in ancient Israel until they were picked out and anointed by priests, acting under divine unction. Because priests were God’s agents as ‘kingmakers’.”

Mr. Idowu, who was represented by Mr. Olayinka Oyegbile, deputy editor, The Nation on Sunday, observed that although the age of priests as kingmakers was long gone, priests should be ready to reprimand kings as “even the most celebrated Israelites King, David was rebuked by Prophet Nathan, as the prophet declared God’s judgement.”

He added, “Former President Goodluck Jonathan also professed the Christian faith and visibly …..But the church obviously failed  to rise to the need to provide guidance and oversight in the conduct of governance. Rather than spiritual oversight, Christian leaders concerned themselves with giving mere political support; leaving it to political jobbers to control the attention of the President and, thereby, influence the conduct of governance…  Church services and programmes became photo opportunities designed to enhance politicians’ electoral fortunes. Pulpits were turned to campaign platforms for the president, while Sunday worship services were disguised campaigns.”

He called on religious leaders top shun yielding their pulpits and churches to politicians.

Prayers were offered while the congregants danced and sang praising God for His mercy.

On the rationale behind the lecture, Dr. David Bamidele Oluwole the institution’s Registrar said “It is our custom every year and virtually all theological institutions of Baptist Seminary in the country that on the eve to the National Day, this programme takes place and a person of high repute is invited to deliver a lecture.”

He said he is highly impressed at the large turnout.

  • Unveiling the Mystery of the Blood Covenant!

Welcome to the tenth month of our year of Heaven On Earth. From scriptures, we understand that mysteries are divine secrets embedded within the simplicity of scriptures. When we engage these divine secrets, we emerge as stars in any area of human endeavours. We also discover from scriptures that mysteries are assets of inestimable value in God’s Kingdom that deliver the unthinkable to the lives of God’s children (2 Corinthians 11:3; Mark 4:11).  For instance, Job became the greatest businessman in his days because he had access to divine secrets. As a result, God made him a point of reference when He said to satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, there is none like him upon the earth” (Job 1:8; see also Job 1:1-7, 29:4; Ephesians 3:1-11).

This helps us to know that when mysteries are discovered from scriptures and engaged, testimonies of success and impact become natural manifestations in our lives. Furthermore, it is important to know that Apostles and Prophets are custodians of these Kingdom secrets. When we hearken to them, we become partakers of the wonders inherent in the mystery they carry (Ephesians 3:1-5).

However, for us to take maximum delivery of the benefits inherent in mysteries, we must receive, believe and put them to work. That is how Kingdom mysteries guarantee our mastery over life situations (John 1:12; Luke 1:45; Deuteronomy 28:1).

Let’s examine the Mystery of the Blood Covenant as a Kingdom secret that guarantees our mastery over life circumstances.

What is the mystery of the Blood Covenant?

We saw a clear picture of this mystery in the account of Prophet Zechariah as he wrote of Jesus in prophecy. It is written: Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water. Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even today do I declare that I will render double unto thee (Zechariah 9:9, 11-12).

In the above scripture, Jesus is the coming King, Who shed His Blood on the Cross for our redemption from the works of the devil. In other words, the Blood of Jesus is the Blood Covenant that redeemed us from the curse of the law to enjoy the blessings of grace. As it is written:

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith (Galatians 3:13-14; see also Numbers 23:23).

However, it is important to know that we engage the mystery of the Blood covenant in three dimensions and they include:

    • In spiritual warfare through prayers: We call this dimension “pleading the Blood” or “invoking the power in the Blood” for our desired victory. It is written:

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death (Revelation 12:11).

    • Through the Communion: We engage the mystery of the Blood covenant by partaking of the Flesh and the Blood of Jesus as Illustrated in scriptures. With reference to Jesus serving the Communion at The Last Supper, the Bible says:

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins (Matthew 26:26-28).

    • By sprinkling the Passover Blood: First, we must appreciate the fact that Jesus is reckoned in scriptures as the Passover Lamb. It is written:

…For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us (1 Corinthians 5:7).

This means that the Blood of Jesus was the sprinkled Passover Blood that guaranteed the victory of the Israelites in Egypt. Remember, Jesus is the Lamb Who was slain on the Cross, just as a lamb was slain for the sprinkling of the Passover Blood (Exodus 12:21-24).

When this mystery was engaged in Egypt, God delivered the Israelites from 430 years of captivity. The Bible records that God had sent several plagues to Egypt but Pharaoh refused to release the Israelites. Thus, God said to Moses:

…Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether (Exodus 11:1).

The “one more plague” referred to in the above scripture was the mystery of the Blood of Sprinkling as seen in the following instruction from Moses:

Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover. And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning. For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you (Exodus 12:21-23).

After this mystery was applied, the Bible records that the siege of captivity over the Israelites was broken. Thus, the Blood of sprinkling is God’s last card for our deliverance from all assaults of the wicked one (devil) and his cohorts. However, it is important to know that only the redeemed child of God has the ability to operate this mystery. Are you born again? This means, have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord? If you haven’t, you can do so as you say this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the Living God. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now I know I am born again!” For further reading, please get my books: The Blood Triumph, Miracle Meal and The Force Of Freedom.

  • Be vessels of honour, Christians urged

Christians have been encouraged to add values and be assets to the body of Christ.

A former General Secretary of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC), Rev. (Dr) Ademola Ishola, stated this last Sunday.

He spoke at the dedication of the sanctuary, appreciation of past leaders, ordination of new deacons and 30th anniversary celebration as well as reunion with members in Diaspora of Victoryland Baptist Church Isolo, Lagos.

Ministering on Household of God, Ishola pointed out a living church must be built on the Lord Jesus Christ.

While noting it is good to beautify sanctuaries, he said churches must not neglect their communities as well.

H lauded members of the church for a job well done but advised them not to relent as they have a long way to go in transforming the lives of people around them.

Addressing the new deacons, he said: “Only the Bible can transform lives and strengthen the goodness of your lives so use the Bible as a model.”

Ishola urged them to be committed to the various assignments committed to them and win souls for Christ individually and collectively.

The church Pastor, Rev. (Dr) Femi Ajayi, noted that the church would be model of what God wants.

Chairman of the anniversary committee, Deacon Deji Onifade, thanked members in Diaspora for their presence and contribution to making the four- in- one programme a success.

  • Stubborn Prophet who turned God down for years

Stubborn Prophet who turned God down for years

91-year-old Primate David Olonade is a survivor from the dark alleys of hell.

The founder of Ark of Covenant Church Lagos had heart-wrenching struggles with God before he finally started his church in August, 1960.

For years, he was totally paralysed and given up for death.

Recalling his battles with God, he said: “I never wished to be prophet of God. I was a rascal boy and very popular in 29 Binuyo Street, Isale gangan, Lagos.

“I grew up in the third house before Fashola’s father’s house. In fact the Fashola family brought us up. We used to carry ladies about and if any preacher comes to our area I don’t allow them preach despite the fact that my father and mother were prophet and prophetess. My mother died at 97 while my father was 122 and I am the last child of my parents.”

He went on: “I didn’t even want to hear Halleluyah. I hated the word prophet because I was very famous in Lagos and thought I had it all. If somebody told me I would be here today, I would have said it was a white lie.”

The prophet, who is an electrician and worked at the then Ijora Power Station, said his typical day was going to work in the morning, closing by 4pm and returning to ‘rock’ town in the evening.

“I had a bicycle and bicycles weren’t easy to come by then. It was like a beautiful car. We could take our bicycles from Isale Gangan to any part of Lagos to meet our girlfriends. I never knew that I would become a servant of God.”

He was living like that until an encounter with one Prophet Zaccheaus.

“We beat him up and scattered the place. The money that was contributed for the man was taken away from him.

“After catching his breath, he said God said the person who organised that riot would be a servant of God but if he refused, he would be paralysed. I ran after him up to Casino Cinema at Ita Faaji to beat him but I couldn’t get him so I went away.”

The next day, Olonade’s troubles started. “I became very sick. I was working with two men from Liverpool, Mr Cavel and Mr Butt.

“They were the contractors of Ijora Power Station. I was told by Mr Butt to pass a wire from the compound to a carpenter’s workshop. I had already buried the pole in the middle of the compound with concrete some days ago but had not joined any cable with it.

“The day I wanted to join the cable I was on shorts and short sleeve. At that time, we used to do cracker board- rolling up your short sleeve shirt.

“It made us feel handsome. I climbed a ladder which was held by the son of Mr Butt who was working with his father in Nigeria.

“Within 10 to 15 minutes, he was calling me Dogo man (my nickname) you are shaking on ladder, I told him to leave me alone and continued my work.

“When I got down, I realised I was sweating profusely and my eyes were very red then I began shaking like a motorcycle. I was taken to our dispenser who said he couldn’t do anything for me.

“After two weeks, I was in general hospital where Dr Mabayoje, a friend and father was attending to me. When he first saw me, he said ‘Dogo man, I am not a prophet or a spiritual man but this spirit using me is saying God is calling you, go and answer him,’”

That began his search for healing.  “I was taken to an herbalist in Iya Ofin, Balogun near canal. That native doctor cut all my body but no blood.

“He rubbed some concoctions and asked if I felt the pains but I said no. That was when I knew that I was under some sort of punishment.

“My stomach was as big as a nine- month pregnant woman’s. I was tested by many doctors but they didn’t see anything wrong with me.

“By this time my mother was no more, she died on 1st April, 1947 so I was sent to my step mother in Mushin who then sent me to Abeokuta where I was given so many medicines.

“Any medicine I was given, I passed out at the toilet just as I was given the medicine. I had sold my two cars, Vanguard and Chevrolet.

“When the situation became worse, my father sent for me from the village in Egba now Ogun State.”

But his situation worsened at his father’s village. “When I got to the market, which is the last stop and about two and half miles to my father’s village, I was dropped on the floor and the vehicle left the place.

“During this time, I was already paralysed and couldn’t move on my own. It was about 10am but there was no one to send to my family that I was nearby.

“A member of father’s family who was a tailor came to the market from the village to buy sewing thread. He walked passed me as he couldn’t recognise me.

“I called out his name then he turned around to look at me. He greeted me looking at me to know if he knew but he still didn’t recognise me so he said “I don’t know you.” I introduced myself to him. He screamed and ran to my father’s village to call him.”

“Yet, Olonade would not give up. He was still obstinate. “I was defecating and urinating on myself without knowing it. I started to smell. I was alone in a room for 3 years and seven months and out of these 3 years and 7 months, I didn’t stool, urinate, eat, sleep or hear anybody talking for 3 months and 12 days.”

“If they put me on the mat, not bed, they will turn me like this, (showing this reporter his side). If they remember after two weeks that somebody is in the room, they will come and turn me again.

“When they turned, my skin would have peeled. All my father’s family members began to grumble and shout complaining that I was dead already and should be buried.”

At a point, even his father agreed he should be buried.  “A coffin was made and date fixed for my burial. I was taken to the burial ground but as I was about to be buried, a visioner in the village who was also a farmer ran towards us and demanded that I was removed from the coffin.

“He said ‘Mr Olonade, God said you are about to bury a living man. Go and make covenant for him that you will force him to become a servant of God.”

His father had to open the coffin while Olonade was taken to the mountain where he swore to serve God.

“My foot and hands were curved like someone who has leprosy. You can see it, it is still like that. Even my stomach is still a little swollen.

“I requested for food – white local food called Eko. They got it for me and started to feed me. When they put it in my mouth the third time, I threw up. My tongue was as black as charcoal and everything I vomited came out black.

“As I was throwing up, I was stooling and urinating and hearing some music which no other person could hear. All my body was stiff; I couldn’t walk or move more than sitting up.

“After a while I forced myself to move and began to crawl. But anytime I forced myself to move I would hear a voice saying he is God and calling me to serve him, he would say, “I am Christ Jesus, if you agree to be m servant, I will release you from this bondage.”

A ruffled Olonade started begging God for forgiveness. It had taken over three years for God to break him down.

“I became fervent in prayers calling on God to forgive me, release me from the bandage and promise to worship him. Medicines began to work on me and I started to move about.”

He moved back to Lagos and enrolled for pastoral training. “But in 1955, I ran away. I started to trade in woods which I carried in vehicles to people.

“The man who was training me would laugh whenever he sees me and say what will happen to me next will be worse than what happened to me before.”

He hadn’t learnt his lessons and was going to go through the trial of affliction again. Suddenly, he became sick again and was admitted in a general hospital.

“I began to beg on the streets. I managed after some days to go back to the church and finished my training in 1960 and started my own church.”

Saying he is still very strong at 91 plus, the prophet said his wife is pregnant. He also has a five- year- old child.

Asked how many women he is married to, he said: “I have only two here with me but I have married many in the past. Any woman who gives me problem I settle and tell her to leave.”

Blessed with 12 children, he said he has secured their future in a most innovative way.

“I give them my churches that are located around the world. The baby that is yet to be born too is a boy and I will hand this church over to him,”? he hinted.

  • Experiencing Heaven’s Order of Financial Fortune! (2)

In last week’s teaching, we discovered that heaven is the citadel of wealth and every believer is seated with Jesus Christ in heavenly places. That means every redeemed child of God is ordained to live a super-wealthy life. However, it is important to know that the law of love is what launches us into that realm as we saw in the life of Solomon and Abraham. This week, we shall explore how we can express our love for God in order to access heaven’s order of financial fortune.

First, it is important for us to know that God’s love is not theoretical, it is practical. Therefore, how do we proof of our love for God.

    • If we love God, we will serve Him: If we love God, serving His interests and that of His Kingdom will be a delight. God speaking to satan concerning Job said: Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? (Job 1:8)

It is important to note that ‘the fear of God’ in scriptures also means to serve God. Job was referred to as one who served God and he also loved God. His love for God was as strong as death. No wonder he said: Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him (Job 13:15; see also Song of Solomon 8:6).

Love is a motivation for service. It is impossible to love God and not serve Him. David, a man after God’s own heart, served the interests of the Kingdom all through his life. Before Solomon, he was the wealthiest king and he had unusual affection for God which he demonstrated by serving His interests. The Bible says:

For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption (Acts 13:36).

When we serve God, we are “engraced” to spend our days in prosperity and our years in pleasures. As it is written: If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures (Job 36:11).

Thus, serving God empowers us to live a pressure-free life.

    • If we love God, we will obey Him: We must recognise that every act of obedience is an investment into posterity, which leads to supernatural blessings upon our generations yet unborn. It is written:

Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever (Psalms 112:1-3). There are things we do that only bring us rewards in the now. However, there are other things we do that guarantee returns long after we are gone. Serving God today is an investment into posterity, after the order of Abraham. He secured the destiny of Israel through his love for God, which was evident in his obedience to every instruction from Him. God said to Abraham: And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice (Genesis 22:16-18).

For instance, 41 per cent of all Nobel Laureate winners since inception in 1901 are Jews. It simply means that the Jewish nation, which is 0.2 per cent of the world population, has the largest share. Out of 44 Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences, 26 are Jews.

By redemption, every child of God is a bona fide spiritual seed of Abraham, who has loaded treasures into our destinies by loving and serving God. That means we are global citizens. Thus, if the natural seed is making such impact, imagine the impact that we, the spiritual seeds, will make. Therefore, we are not wasting our time by loving and obeying God, but investing into posterity and securing it (Galatians 3:29).

Furthermore, we discover from scripture that soul-winning is one of God’s commandments that guarantee generational blessings. As it is written: Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you (John 15:16).

It is also written: And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever (Daniel 12:3).

When we obey the commandment of soul-winning with delight and joy, we secure generational blessings on our lives. Therefore, soul-winning does not only procure blessings in the now but also secures results for posterity. We must understand that a covenant to serve God and the interests of His Kingdom is key to flowing in financial fortune.  As it is written: Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come. For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof. So the heathen shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory (Psalms 102:13-15).

In conclusion, God will be visiting the earth with heaven’s order of wealth before Christ returns. Moreover, the end-time Church is ordained a ruling and super wealthy Church, and God’s plan for the saints is to manifest in financial fortune after the order of heaven. We must note that the church is not a building but a people and it is God’s will for His people on the earth to flow in financial fortune that will humble the pride of the world.

Friend, loving God with passion is the trade secret for accessing that heaven’s order of financial fortune. Therefore, I decree that your love for God and the affairs of His Kingdom be rekindled today in Jesus’ name! Remain ever blessed!

Are you born again? Is Jesus Christ your Saviour and Lord? If not, you can become redeemed now as you say this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the Living God. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now I know I am born again!” For further reading, please get my books: Breaking Financial Hardship, Understanding Financial Prosperity, Financial Prosperity, Covenant Wealth and The Hidden Covenant of Blessings.

  • Lagosians defy rain for Deeper Life’s crusade

Were William Shakespeare to comment on the Lagos City-wide Crusade last Thursday at Ikeja Grammar School, Bolade, Oshodi, Lagos, he probably would have reiterated: “There is a tide in the affairs of men, which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune; omitted, all the voyage of their lives is bound in shallows and in miseries.”

That situation played out at the crusade, organised by Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) in conjunction with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).

Participants walked through the pool of flood and mud, just to have an encounter with the God of wonders

They stood in the rain, holding on tenaciously to their conviction of maximising the opportunity of the crusade.

Some of them said the rain was divinely engineered to pour extraordinary blessings upon them.

Their resolve might have been bolstered by the choir rendition entitled “Shout, for the victory has been won”.

Over one thousand participants trooped out to surrender their lives to Christ during the altar call.  They dared the flood; making the day, as Pastor Kumuyi said, “a remarkable day, a day of reference and day they will never forget.”

At the Shomolu crusade within the precincts of the Yaba College of Technology, the participants, who included Uduak Inyang-Udoh, director of Academic Planning Unit (APU) and Sola Akeredolu, chairman of Joint Christian Management Committee, both of Yabatech, could not hide their excitement of being present at the programme.

Inyang-Udoh, who represented Mrs. Margaret k Ladipo, the Rector of the institution, noted that he had concluded not to miss out, saying: “Personally, I am excited because I see this opportunity as a lifetime opportunity.”

Kumuyi, in his message at Yabtech, titled “Decision that activates supernatural power,” hinged the predicament of majority of people on their preference to dwell in the valley of indecision, calling on them to escape from God’s wrath through repentance of sins.

While noting that taking a decision should be a personal, practical and purposeful issue, the cleric said: “A man of no decision is a man of no value, no stamina.

“Decision makes or mars a man. It is the decision that makes the man; it is indecision that breaks the man.”

In Agege, which witnessed unquantifiable testimonies, Pastor Kumuyi, in his message titled, “The supernatural beginning of a better future,” charged Nigerians to shun night clubbing, cultism and other social vices as these could be destructive to their lives.

According to him: “That place where you engage in cultic practices, drunkenness, sucking of blood, adultery, robbing and others is not a place of rest because they will destroy you.

“You must not remain in sin. Awake and put on a new strength. Rise up from that evil and come to the saviour and something good will come to your life

  • Experiencing Heaven’s Order of Financial Fortune!

From scriptures, we understand that heaven is the citadel of wealth. This is because the whole city and its streets are built with pure gold (Revelation 21:18-21; 1 Corinthians 2:9).

Also, the Bible helps us to know that every born again child of God is seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. That means we are seated in the midst of incomparable wealth. Thus, by redemption, every believer has been positioned into a super-wealthy place in Christ and ordained to live a wealthy life (Ephesians 1:3, 2:6).

However, the law of love is what launches men into the realm of heaven’s order of financial fortune. We discover that all lovers of God in scriptures commanded supernatural wealth. For instance, the love of God was the launching pad of Solomon into the realm of heaven’s order of financial fortune. The Bible says: And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places (1 Kings 3:3; see also 1 Corinthians 13:13).

After he reared that altar of sacrifice, God told him to ask whatever he desired and he requested for wisdom in ruling God’s people. His request was based on his love for God and the affairs of His Kingdom. As a result, God said: And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days (1 Kings 3:13).

Solomon didn’t access the realm of financial fortune by struggling but by putting God first. Then, God responded by lavishing him with heaven’s order of wealth. In fact, the wealth that God gave Solomon was a replica of heaven. The Bible records:

So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold, And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold. And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold (1 Kings 6:10, 21-22).

After Solomon completed the house of God with gold, he also did same in his house. As it is written: And all king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon (1 Kings 10:21).

As a result of his love for God, he completed the house of God first with gold before he laid his own house with gold. He had a ‘God-first’ mentality.

Let’s recognize that people who flow in heaven’s order of wealth don’t ask for it; it is lavished on them in response to their correct positioning and right standing with God. The love of God is what launches us into the realm of heaven’s order of financial fortune in the Kingdom.

It is believed that the law of giving and receiving is the foundation for financial fortune. We must know that it is part of the instructions of the Word, it is not the law. The anchor law for accessing the realm of financial fortune is the law of love. As it is written:

Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart. If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles. Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks. Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver (Job 22:21-25 see also 1 Corinthians 2:9).

In verse 22 of the above scripture, two things were mentioned: Receive the law and lay up His Word. The law is clearly the law of love. Why? It is written:

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing (1 Corinthians 13:3).

That means giving is impotent without love. Thus, it is the love of God in our hearts that gives real value to our giving. This is why the love of God, burning in our hearts, qualifies as our covenant launching pad into the realms of financial fortune.

But, how do we express our love for God?

Jesus said: He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him (John 14:21).

We prove the sincerity of our love for God by expressing great delight in keeping His commandments. For instance, Abraham was referred to as a friend of God. As it is written: But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend (Isaiah 41:8).

Remember, love is the cord of friendship and Abraham walked in financial fortune by being a friend of God, which also means the love of God. In his old age, the Bible records that God had blessed him in all things (Genesis 24:1).

However, Abraham was an addicted keeper of God’s commandments. He exemplified prompt obedience to God’s instructions, which was always to the letter (Genesis 12:1-4, 17:10, 23, 22:1-3).

It is written: For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous (1 John 5:3).

Are you born again and has Jesus Christ been accepted your Saviour and Lord? If not, you can do so as you say this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I come to You today.

  • BSN ends marathon reading

THE Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) has ended this year’s Bible Reading Week.

Its General Secretary Rev Richard Ajiboye kicked off the event at the All Saints Anglican Church Oshodi, Lagos.

He said the event held in 42 centres in the state.

The participating churches were Methodist Church Nigeria, The Apostolic Church and Anglican Communion, among others.

He inaugurated the event by reading Genesis chapter 1.

He urged Christians not to treat the Bible not just as an ordinary book but as the living word of God.

Speaking on the theme drawn from Joshua 1: 8, Ajiboye said those who read the Bible should endeavour to meditate on it and practice it.

Noting that Nigerians are highly religious, he said the problem was that those who read the Bible do not practise it.

“If they do,” he added, ”Nigeria will be transformed.”

The BSN helmsman said the practice of group Bible reading was not new, noting that Jesus Christ did it the first day he entered the temple.
