  • Understanding the root cause of sicknesses!

    By Dr. David Oyedepo

Welcome to the concluding part of this teaching! I hope you were blessed by last week teaching. Today, we shall focus on: Understanding the Root Cause of Sicknesses!

We understand from scriptures that satan is the root cause of sicknesses. The Bible records, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10). At creation, when God made us, we were perfect and very good, then satan came and sowed his evil seed and the good creation of God became evil. But praises be to God, Jesus came that He might destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).  It is written, And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself (Luke 13:10-11). For eighteen years that spirit of sickness was oppressing the woman. From the original Greek text, Astheneia is the name from where the word ‘infirmity’ came and it means sickness. So, when they say someone has a spirit of infirmity, it means he/she has a spirit of sickness. We see also in Mark 9:25, When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. Thus, sickness is a spirit! There was an incident recorded in Mark 1:23-26 about a man with an unclean spirit who always misbehave in public. The Bible records, And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him. That is the spirit of madness that makes one behave foul. Another instance was in Mark 5:2-5, And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. But then, he came in contact with the One that has the power to destroy every spirit of sickness. The Bible records, For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit (Mark 5:8). And the man was set free. By the time the people who used to know him as a mad man saw him again, he was …sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind… (Mark 5:15). Therefore, by virtue of our redemption in Christ, satan has no final say in our lives anymore. Jesus came to destroy all the works of the devil!

In summary, that sickness in our bodies is the planting of the devil. But the good news is that everything he has ever placed in our bodies, Jesus has come to root it out. That’s the reason He came. So, the only sickness that won’t leave us alone is the one that is stronger than God and there’s no such sickness. In conclusion, satan is the root cause of every sickness and all we need to floor the devil is the consciousness that we are greater and stronger. However, you must be born again not to be a victim of satan’s gimmicks. Are you born again? If you are not, this is an opportunity to do so. Simply say the following prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Today, I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me! Now, I know I am born again! For further reading, please get my books: Keys to Divine Health, The Healing Balm, The Miracle Meal and Fulfilling Your Days. • Lagos RCCG region 19 fetes the needy

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Lagos Region 19 has donated bags of rice and other relief materials to residents of the area.

The church also offered free medical services, including blood pressure test, free eyes tests and donation of about 150 medicated glasses to people who thronged its church premises on ACME Road, Ogba – Ikeja Lagos.

Pastor- in -charge of the region, Pastor Brown Oyitso, said the church was reaching out to the needy through provisions of food items, free medical services, rehabilitation of Police stations, provision of home laboratories, provision of drugs for hospitals as part of its social responsibility.

“Our General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has observed that there will always be poor in our midst and so he has instructed us to always reach out to the poor.

“We also believe that government can not do it alone and there is the need for everybody to rally round in improving our surroundings.

“So we construct drainages and provides boreholes in areas where our churches are located.

” Pastor Adeboye has instructed us that there are people that needed to be helped and such people we must help as a church.

“So our General Overseer has given us specific instruction to go out and reach out to the poor, to go out to the marginalised, to go out and reach out to the less privileges in the society with food, bursary awards and sholarship.

”Beyond giving out of foods, we also provide social amenities where our churches operate.

“We have been involved in provisions of drugs and other medical needs for the Gbagada General Hospital and Lagos State Teaching Hospital, Ikeja,” Pastor Oyitso said.

Oyitso, who is also the Special Assistant to the Church General Overseer on Missions, urged the beneficiaries to be hopeful of the good future saying no condition is permanent.

  • ‘I cannot celebrate my 60th birthday when Leah Sharibu is still in captivity’

    By Rev Gideon Para-Mallam

Today, October 15th, by God’s special grace, is my 60th Birthday. My joy knows no bounds. I rejoice in the compassionate mercies of my LORD GOD, the ALMIGHTY.

By His grace, he has made my life worth it for these 60 years on earth! I have reflected deeply on my days so far on earth: the ups and downs, my many failures.

Yet, He found me worthy to be a servant in His service. I am filled with tons of gratitude to God for His sustaining power in my life. My life is worth nothing without God. I want to serve Him faithfully to the end!

On the 4th of September 2019, I arrived at the US for a 3-day symposium. After resting from long hours of flight from Abuja via Frankfurt to Chicago O’Hare airport and to Missouri, I reflected in an Airport Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri. I was thinking about my upcoming 60th birthday in October.

As, I prayed and reflected, God impressed deeply on my heart not to engage in celebrations. God re-directed my focus to the plight of Leah Sharibu, our precious daughter who as at today is still being held in Boko Haram’s captivity.

Apart from Leah, there are several others like Alice Ngaddah. Grace Taku. Some others, not so known, are also languishing in kidnappers’ dens. How can I celebrate with such realities before me? On returning home to Nigeria, six innocent school girls and two adult teachers were kidnapped in Kaduna State; all these are combined to tell a difficult story for parents and our citizens.

Read Also; Will Chibok girls, Leah Sharibu ever be found?

How can I celebrate my 60th with these realities? I remain very thankful to God for creating me a Nigerian and allowing me to live these years in Nigeria, but I cannot celebrate.

Sadly, the kidnap of Leah Sharibu is being politicised and by both government and certain groups. The bottom line is that Leah is still in captivity. Is she still alive, some have asked? From feelers, she is still alive by the grace of GOD.

I am dedicating today to pray for Leah’s release along with others who remain in captivity. I wish to urge all Nigerians and friends of Nigeria in the global community to remember, in a special way TODAY – 15th October, to also PRAY for Leah’s release and others.

    Hope and Empty Promises?

The Federal Government of Nigeria has always offered assurances of Leah’s release. My question to the FG TODAY is: for how long will Leah’s parents keep waiting and expecting the fulfillment of your promises to bring their daughter back to them? A word of wisdom in the Bible suggests that hope deferred makes the heart sick.

So, as the wisdom book also admonishes, let us pray that hope differed will NEVER turn into hope denied. I therefore appeal in the strongest way possible, today that the Federal Government of Nigeria to demonstrate responsive leadership and free Leah Sharibu. What is Nigeria about if the citizens are subjected to such human misery although we still have a government in place?

I know Nigerians to be resilient, gifted, industrious and hard working. We have our negatives no doubt. No nation is perfect. But our government has failed not just Nigerians, but the world’s expectation of the potential that all know and have come to expect from Nigeria.

But, our political leaders won’t let us be. Nigerians are more tormented by her political leaders today and this is very difficult to accept. We are presently under-performing as a nation because of an under-performing government.

We have a government which always creates the impression that it is ‘on top of every situation?’ This government shows more muscle in protecting its interest of remaining in power than in protecting the citizens.

So, TODAY, I urge President Muhammadu Buhari and his government to ACT deliberately and decisively to bring Leah home to her parents. This would be the happiest Birthday gift, I could pray and wish for at this time!!!

The agony of Leah Sharibu’s Parents

Yesterday morning 14th October, Leah’s Father Nathan Sharibu and I were on the phone again. We connect on a regular basis and this has been the case since March 2018, till date. Yesterday, he said he has not heard a single word about his daughter’s release beyond the promises. He also confirmed that he has NOT received any phone call or updates from the President of this country. Why is this the case?

I am wondering deeply. Mr. President, where is your humanity? Is life all about enjoying power in Aso Rock? You are a father and Nathan Sharibu is also a father. Before you were anything in government you were probably a father.

Before you were elected President for which you fought so hard to get the position, you were a father. So, why are you not reaching out even as a father to call Mr. Nathan Sharibu? Must anyone beg you?

Imagine for a moment if Leah were to be your daughter and you were not President, how would you feel? How would you respond to such apparent neglect? Leah has, as at today 15th of October 2019, spent a total of six hundred and three days (603 days) in captivity. If Leah were your daughter, what would you do, Mr. President? 603 days? Would you have the presence of mind to lead Nigeria?

A few minutes into writing this statement, Leah’s father and I were on the phone again. He shared with me that their life as a family is one of daily agony and pain; but they remain thankful to God. I encouraged him once again as I normally do, to remain hopeful about Leah’s release.

He went further to tell me that last night was rather a very difficult night for him because he dreamt about Leah. He seemed distressed and unhappy. We agreed to reconnect again later in the day.

The pain and agony is the same for Leah’s mother Rebecca Sharibu. Three weeks ago, when we spoke on phone, she was unwell. I encouraged her and prayed with her as well. The prolonged captivity of Leah is taking its toll on her health not to talk of the psychological instability she has been subjected to.

When we invited her to spend time in our home in September/ early October, she had a familiar place she liked to sit: on a small rocking chair in our living room. She stayed there for most of the day and always had this far away distant look on her face as if absent minded.

It’s like being present and absent at the same time. She is thinking of Leah, her 16 year-old precious daughter. Leah was snatched away from her when she was 14, by the deadly Boko Haram ISWAP group, while attending school in Dapchi, Yobe State, north east, Nigeria on February 19th, 2018.

As, I was writing this sentence, my phone rang, it was from Leah’s mother. Donald, Leah’s younger brother is in school but can hardly focus because of missing his older sister. Will teenage Donald see justice by being re-united with his sister? How soon would this be?

How on earth could we excuse our government for ridiculing Leah’s mum before the global press in faraway United States for exaggerating the general state of insecurity in Nigeria today? Leah’s mum of all people? How unconscionable!

Our Vice President and the leadership of the Nigerian Embassy erred to have so chastised Leah’s mother who was simply making a case for the release of her daughter before a foreign audience. That action added to her agony and psychological trauma.

On her return from the United States, we connected on phone and she told me how unhappy she was to be characterised as a liar. In truth, who is lying about our security situation?

Leah’s mum and those who accompanied her to the States or the government officials who tried to contradict her? The Nigerian government always has a way of condemning itself by their actions through what they say which seems to always have an obvious disconnect with what they do.

Indeed, how can I celebrate with such realities before me? I am compelled by the LOVE of God and in OBEDINCE to His call to advocate for Leah’s release.

God impressed this heavily on my heart since March 21st, 2018, the very day, the other Dapchi school girls were released but Leah was held back on account of her Christian faith and refusal to deny Jesus Christ as her LORD and Saviour.

She traded her freedom for what she believed in. This is conviction! This is uncommon courage. The struggle to free Leah and others will remain on, until Leah is free along with others.

The International Community, Leah Sharibu and the rest of us

Where is the international community, especially global leaders whose help is much needed to secure the freedom of Leah Sharibu? Leah is a prisoner of conscience. Her freedom of belief is being denied right now. Where is Amnesty International?

If the denial of the right of this 16-year-old, including the continuation of her education, does not move some these global human rights bodies, what else is more important to them?

Leah’s case is a matter of human rights, social justice and religious liberty. Her fundamental human rights are being abused. Human Rights International sadly cares more about the rights of her oppressors than her rights as the oppressed.

If the Nigerian Army could be accused of human rights violations by some of these rights groups in favor of Boko Haram, why are they silent on the rights of victims such as Leah Sharibu? Is Human Rights not getting it wrong?

Why is the global community abandoning Nigeria on Leah and others despite numerous appeals? Why should Leah’s parents and the citizens of Nigeria receive empty promises both from their government at home and the global community?

The United Nations Rapporteur on Nigeria and the Bishop of Truro’s Independent Review for the British Foreign Secretary of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Support for the Persecuted Christians Interim Report – have produced two of the finest reports so far. Both reports highlighted the plight the victims of violence and what they have been subjected to, and the criminal neglect of the Nigerian government.

Both reports were released in 2019. The killings with impunity taking place in Nigeria, with a government in place defies all logic. When will the Nigerian government come clean and stop the killings, kidnappings and the captivity of its citizens in their own country?

I urge Church leaders at home and globally to do more for the plight of not ONLY Christians but all Nigerians, no matter their creed, who are suffering various forms of dehumanization and their diminished dignity.

I urge all Church denominations and the Mega Churches in Nigeria to unite to stand up for the vulnerable. The Church needs to offer fresh hope anchored on biblical tough love and forgiveness.

The Church needs to be prophetic in speaking truth to power and do more than what she is doing now for Leah Sharibu to be set free along with others.

I wish to close this statement by expressing deep appreciations from my family and friends within Nigeria and outside for the showering of love and best wishes received. My wife surprised me by organizing a birthday fellowship in our home with a close circle of friends, where we spent time in intensive prayer for Leah Sharibu, her parents and others. Messages in various forms including a surprise phone call from Liberia’s Ambassador to Cote’ d’Ivoire, Her Excellency Willy Mai Tobert King, daughter of the First Liberian President.

  • Adeboye hits FG on border closure, VAT increase, others

    By Adeola Ogunlade

General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye has kicked against the proposed increase of VAT from 5 percent to 7.5 percent by the federal government.

The proposal, he said, will further increase the burdens on Nigerians.

Adeboye also said the proposed reintroduction of toll gates on federal government was insensitive.

The plan, he said, shouldn’t be considered at a time most federal roads were in pitiable conditions.

The federal government, as far as Adeboye is concerned, should    refocus its plans and programmes toward initiatives that would lessen the suffering and burdens of Nigerians.

He spoke last Sunday at the Special Independence Day Celebration of the church at its headquarters, RCCG, Throne of Grace, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

The programme tagged Arise attracted worshippers and traditional rulers led by the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, His royal highness, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.

He further pointed out the closure of borders to importation of rice was ill-conceived because it has made the stable unavailable to most Nigerians.

Adeboye said as the country celebrates at 59, the federal government should henceforth focus on initiating policies that would lessen the sufferings and burdens of Nigerians.

Such policies, he said, should have the capability to move the country out of doldrums, make her arise and pitch her tent with comity of nations.

Speaking through the Assistant General Overseer, Administration and Personnel, Pastor Johnson Odesola, Adeboye emphasised a lot of policies of government are not helping Nigerians.

He lamented many Nigerians were suffering when the wealth of their nation are just in few hands who have refused to let go.

The respected preacher also criticised how banks are fixing interest rate, which he described as one of the highest in the world, saying the development was making business environment unfavourable for Nigerians.

He bemoaned the condition of commoners, saying it was insensitive for the federal government to consider bringing back toll gates when the roads were in bad conditions.

Oba Gbadebo appreciated God for the independence celebration, saying that God has helped us a lot as Nigeria has remained one the federation that has remain strong and indivisible since independence in 1960.

He appealed to Nigeria leaders to consolidate on the success and achievements made so far in Nigeria by working for the interest of the  people rather than their personal interest and gain.

He restated that leaders in position of authority are put there by God and will one day give account of their stewardship to him.

  • Selfish leaders can’t lead tomorrow’s church – Adeyemi

    Emmanuel Udodinma

Selfish church leaders will soon lose out in the schemes of things, Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre Lagos, Pastor Sam Adeyemi has stated.

He urged them to model good examples as selfish leaders cannot lead the way for tomorrow’s churches.

Adeyemi spoke in Lagos at the 2019 Conference of Church Administrators Society of Nigeria (CASON) tagged “Future of the Church and Church of the future.

Leading a triad of speakers, Adeyemi emphasised: “True and Christ-like leadership is the way forward for the Church and there is no better time than today to create the future we all want.

“If a pastor thinks and acts as though all the money of the church belongs to him and that he is better than everyone else in his church that is exactly how his members will think and behave in government and in other positions of influence.

“Prosperity promise without hard work is empty. As pastors, we must model and teach the right New Testament principles to our followers and Nigerians at large.”

Founder and Development Director of West Africa Theological Seminary, Dr. Gary Maxey, traced the growth of Christianity in Nigeria and concluded that Christians have made all Nigerians more prayerful and evangelistic across all faiths.

He said that since the ‘Seduction of the Nigerian Church’ – an allusion to his latest book – it behoves leadership of churches in Nigeria across all denominations to rid itself of corruption and empty prosperity preaching that has no basis in Christian theology.

Read Also: I have no private jet yet, says Sam Adeyemi

“However, I believe strongly that the Nigerian Church is capable and must lead the charge to rid Nigeria of corruption,” Maxey said.

Leading brand strategists and CEO Alder Consulting, Mr. Leke Alder, said: “The time is now for Christians to stop being lazy. If we all take our faith seriously, we must all become theologians and take New Testament Christianity as the only model for the future of the Church.

“God has since moved beyond picking only Levite priests to lead the Church. There is a reason Jesus recruited seafood entrepreneurs (and not priests of old) as His disciples. Therefore tomorrow’s Church must marry theology with commonsense and science. People will no longer leave their brains at home to listen to sermons in church.”

CASON President, Pastor Seyi Oladimeji, said: “The Church in Nigeria must chart a new path for the whole country to reverse this dangerous trend of youth restiveness, insecurity, infrastructural decay, unstable economy, ethnic and religious distrust, ambiguity in our educational system, unprecedented unemployment as well as increase in suicide rate and so on.”

  • ‘Prisoners need listening ears’

    Omolara Akintoye

For those behind bars, the greatest gift you can give to them is to learn to listen to them, but no one listens to them,” says Senior Pastor, LifeSpring Bible Church, Ilasa, Lagos.

Onwochei, who retired as a Senior Officer in the Nigeria Prison Service, lamented that in as much as prisoners want people to listen to them, they hardly get listened to.

Recalling how he got the job at The Prison Service, he said it was after he had lost hope.

“I’ve gone through a lot in life. I could remember many years back I was dying at that age when I just graduated and I was looking for job.

“I travelled all the way from Warri to Lagos.  I was to take a flight to Lagos but the person I was to travel with didn’t show up so I decided to go by myself and look for job.

“But miraculously, I was at the Federal Secretariat looking for job and the person that was to help me disappointed me. While I was there at the Secretariat, looking for job somebody gave me a Magazine titled “Casting all your cares upon Jesus”.

“Then I asked within myself who told this man what I was passing through. Mind you as an unbeliever I would fast and pray then and my worries will increase 100 per cent.

“But that day, I read the magazine and said the prayer at the back of the magazine. Instantly I knew that something had happened, so I left. Two days afterwards I met a cousin of mine, he was surprised at the peace I had and the smile on my face so he concluded that I had gotten the job but I told him no.

“Then I later had a message from the man who was their boss in the Ministry I went to look for job then. That was how I got the job without any examination or interview.

“To the glory of God I resumed and one day God reminded me that I said I’m going to kill thieves and now I had so many of them to kill.

“I broke down in the office and was apologizing to God telling Him I don’t want to kill anyone. I told Him I’m not going to kill anybody and from there I learnt to listen.”

Onwochei revealed how God had used him to transform the lives of so many prisoners wherever he was posted, especially at the Ikoyi Headquarters, Alagbon Prison.

This was how he was able to decode the call of God upon his life. But his father wanted him to be anything but a pastor.

“But my dad was not ready to hear about my leaving my secular work for ministerial work.

“He warned me then and said ‘You can do any other thing but if I hear that you resigned from this job for any other job you are in trouble’.

“Eventually I did but before I resigned I went back home and informed him (of blessed memory now and my mum).

His stint at Prison Service imbued in him with listening ears.

“No matter how big your frame is I’ll look at you and tell you as it is any time any day. My friend can testify to the fact that I’m a true ‘AM’ Friend, you can call me any time of the day and I’m accessible.

“Thank God for the knowledge of the scriptures, once we stand together in one accord and call on Jesus those problems will crumble.

“One grace that God has given me is love for people. But I’m a very hard man, when it comes to principles I don’t joke at all but when it comes to test I can compromise but in relationships I’ve learnt a long time never to close doors.

“If you are passing through any difficulties I’m that kind of person that will be there for you giving you all the necessary support.”

On the state of the nation, Onwochei attributed the nation’s challenges to leadership.

“I’ll say we can only pray for Nigeria but the problem of Nigeria is leadership from top to bottom.

“So I’m not pointing finger at a particular place, if only we can have Nigerians that love themselves then we can have a better nation,” he stressed.

On how to resolve the xenophobic crisis in South Africa, Onwochei said: “For South Africa I think it’s part of what happened to Nigeria when we do not know history of where we are coming from then we are likely to repeat what could have been avoided.

“I don’t think they have come to the realisation of what African countries did to bring them to where they are now.

‘’That is not to say that they shouldn’t have a voice in their nation any more no, but I think they should be more accommodating than what we are seeing now.’’

  • Jewish, Christian communities celebrate in Lagos

Christian leaders joined their Jewish counterparts recently in Lagos to celebrate the New Year of the latter.

The celebration afforded the two communities the opportunity to strengthen their bonds and harness their potentials.

Executive Director of #IStandWithIsrael, Pastor Rex Ajenifuja, said the celebration was historic and significant.

Three Orthodox Jewish Rabbis graced the occasion, the first-ever in Africa.

The celebration known as The Feast of Trumpet was marked with eating of apple and honey.

The Jewish group also presented awards of recognition to Lagos State Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) chairman, Bishop Sola Ore and others called Friends of Israel.

  • Cleric to Buhari: release Sowore, others

Senior Pastor of the Awaiting The Second Coming of Jesus Christ Gospel Church in Akure, Ondo State, Adewale Giwa, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to release the founder of Saahara reporters, Omoyele Sowore and other political detainees.

On September 20, the federal government slammed Sowore with seven charges bordering on alleged treasonable felony, fraud, money laundering and cyber-stalking.

On October 4, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu granted Sowore a N100m bail with two sureties in like sum.

But Sowore has been unable to meet the bail conditions.

Giwa called on Buhari to remember God that saved him from a long medical absence in the United Kingdom and set Sowore and others free.

“We make plans but the Lord determines our steps, according to Proverbs 16:9. Nobody is greater than Almighty God who created us, and everything is temporary, nothing is permanent.

“I don’t know whether Christians and Muslims are serving the same God. If we do, president Buhari should think about the God that saved him from illness in the UK and listen to the cries of Nigerians.

“Since 1999, Nigeria has produced three Presidents before Buhari and none of them is there as a sitting president. Your time shall go, and another person shall come in.

“Out of the three past presidents, Nigerians today can talk about who did well or not.

“The most important philosophical question to ask ourselves is that; what can somebody say after you?”

  • Lagos West Diocese celebrates 20th anniversary

Bishop of the Diocese of Lagos West Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion. Rt. Rev. (Dr.) James Olusola Odedeji has urged Nigerians not to cease praying for the nation despite the myriad of problems plaguing it.

He stated that constant prayers will help Nigeria to overcome its trying times.

Odedeji spoke at the weekend during a media briefing to herald activities marking the 20th anniversary of the Diocese.

The grand finale of the anniversary comes up on November 20.

According to him: “There’s no gainsaying that there is hunger and anger in the land and the saddest aspect of the whole thing is the fact that our political leaders seem to be clueless on finding a lasting solution to the problems.

“Insecurity has become a serious epidemic with both the poor and the rich living in fear. Joblessness is at its peak with many able abled youths roaming about, seriously, all is not well with Nigeria.

“But we cannot stop praying for our dear nation. We must keep at it with the hope that God will intervene on our behalf.”

According to Odedeji, if political leaders can a find a way to make people have a more comfortable life, the issue of insecurity and other restiveness among youths will be reduced drastically.

He enjoined Christians and all well-meaning Nigerians not to be disillusioned but sustain prayers pray as nothing is too hard for God to do.

Speaking on the activities of the 20th anniversary, Odedeji explained that triumphant convocation featuring ministrations of the word, music ministrations and prayers for the Diocese, church of Nigeria and Nigeria as well as deliverance sessions will hold between October 29th and 31st of 2019.

“On November 1st, a 12 hour praise night will bring all ministers of God led by the Bishop of Jalingo and the laity together.

“Prominent Gospel artistes and choir from various Archdeaconries have been invited also to the event,” he said.

Odedeji explained that another highlight of the anniversary will be the Gala night/awards on November 10.

He also said 20 boreholes will be commissioned to provide portable water at various communities within the Diocese as part of its Christian Social Responsibility to care for the needy and espouse pragmatic evangelism.

The grand finale, he said, will hold on the 20th of November with a thanksgiving service that will be attended by the Primate of all Nigeria, the Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh.
