Welcome to the concluding part of this teaching! I hope you were blessed by last week teaching. Today, we shall focus on: Understanding the Root Cause of Sicknesses!
We understand from scriptures that satan is the root cause of sicknesses. The Bible records, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10). At creation, when God made us, we were perfect and very good, then satan came and sowed his evil seed and the good creation of God became evil. But praises be to God, Jesus came that He might destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). It is written, And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself (Luke 13:10-11). For eighteen years that spirit of sickness was oppressing the woman. From the original Greek text, Astheneia is the name from where the word ‘infirmity’ came and it means sickness. So, when they say someone has a spirit of infirmity, it means he/she has a spirit of sickness. We see also in Mark 9:25, When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. Thus, sickness is a spirit! There was an incident recorded in Mark 1:23-26 about a man with an unclean spirit who always misbehave in public. The Bible records, And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him. That is the spirit of madness that makes one behave foul. Another instance was in Mark 5:2-5, And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. But then, he came in contact with the One that has the power to destroy every spirit of sickness. The Bible records, For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit (Mark 5:8). And the man was set free. By the time the people who used to know him as a mad man saw him again, he was …sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind… (Mark 5:15). Therefore, by virtue of our redemption in Christ, satan has no final say in our lives anymore. Jesus came to destroy all the works of the devil!
In summary, that sickness in our bodies is the planting of the devil. But the good news is that everything he has ever placed in our bodies, Jesus has come to root it out. That’s the reason He came. So, the only sickness that won’t leave us alone is the one that is stronger than God and there’s no such sickness. In conclusion, satan is the root cause of every sickness and all we need to floor the devil is the consciousness that we are greater and stronger. However, you must be born again not to be a victim of satan’s gimmicks. Are you born again? If you are not, this is an opportunity to do so. Simply say the following prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Today, I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me! Now, I know I am born again! For further reading, please get my books: Keys to Divine Health, The Healing Balm, The Miracle Meal and Fulfilling Your Days.
