•APC Arewa coordinator seeks continuous serenity, civility
Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, has urged Nigerians to celebrate Eid with love, perseverance and patriotism.
Ojelabi, in a statement, described Eid as unique, especially coming after Easter.
He said: “It gladdens my heart both Muslims and Christians observed fast almost simultaneously and celebrated together.
“Allah has commanded believers to go into a spiritual journey so both rich and poor can have same experience about life and appreciate God for being there for them.
“As Muslims and Nigerians, we must not relent in prayers and personal relationship with God as we did during Ramadan. We should allow the lessons we learnt make us work for a better Nigeria. I enjoin you to be your brother’s keeper, and be ready to work with people of other faiths for unity, justice and good relationship.
“Beloved, Nigeria is our own, our common heritage, and country, let us work for its unity, stability, equity, genuine and good governance as we prepare for inauguration of Bola Tinubu, and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on May 29…”
Chairman of Arewa Community in APC, Saadu Gulmah, said the people should uphold the serenity and civility exhibited in Ramadan
Gulmah, who noted social vices, hate speeches, political vendetta were either at their lowest ebb or non-existent in the state, said ‘I appeal to Muslims to uphold serenity and civility and say no to violence during Eid’.
In a statement, Gulmah said: “I rejoice with Muslims as they celebrate Eid, symbolising the end of Ramadan. I urge you to be peaceful as you have always done, you should report those suspected of dubious and doubtful missions to the law. May the goodness of today enrich all aspects of your life and may God protect you from all sorts of calamity that may come your way.”
