CHEVRON Nigeria is planning to divest its assets from fossil fuels field in the country.
Industry sources said the firm has started discussing with buyers to sell some of its onshone and offshore assets in Nigeria.
The company is the third largest oil producer, delivering 194,000 barrels per day,233 million cubit feet of natural gas and 6,000 Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as at 2018.

Information on the firm’s website show that Chevron has 40 stakes in eight offshore oil blocks, while the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC) holds 60 per cent in the field.
By this, Chevron has become the third multinational oil company to divest its interests in Nigeria, after Shell and Exxon Mobil.
