THE University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) has denied that the medical doctor reported to be involved in an alleged baby theft is on the staff of the hospital.

“He is an impostor,” the hospital said in a disclaimer signed by Director of Administration, Ededet Eyoma.

“We wish to inform the public that Dr. Victor Onongha and all those mentioned in the said publication are not on the employment list of the hospital.”

“The general public is therefore advised to discountenance the said publications as they relate to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital please.”

The UCTH said it regretted that the police in Akwa Ibom State which issued the statement used by the media did not make an effort to confirm the identity of the suspect, Victor Onongha who claimed to be a doctor in UCTH when he is not.

Dr Onongha was mentioned in an alleged sale of five-month-old baby involving the baby’smother and her sister.
