The Youth Fellowship of Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Movement Church, Lagos State chapter, has advised youths to shun the abuse of drugs.

It made the call during a visit to The Nation yesterday in Lagos.

Chairman of the group, Muyiwa Odedina, described drug abuse among the youth as worrisome.

The church, he said, has continuously preaching against drug abuse.

To keep the youth engaged, he said the movement has held empowerment programmes.

“We do have our monthly vigil where we pray for the country. This year, we had an empowerment programme to support the youth. We are also into evangelism for the youth of this nation to have impact and for them to know that violence and creating problems is not what we support,” he said.

He advised the government to have a listening ear and move closer to the masses to solve the menace of drug abuse adding that the movement will continue to pray for the betterment of the nation.
