The Primate of the African Church, His Eminence, the Most Revd Julius Olayinka Abbe, has urged Nigerians to believe that “Coronavirus is real and causing deaths and hardships for people.”

He spoke at the New Year Thanksgiving Service at The African Church Cathedral Salem, Lagos Mainland Diocese, Ebute-Meta, Lagos.

Abbe said: “As I am speaking to you, many Nigerians still believe that there is no Coronavirus in the country. This is not good. All over the world, the virus is killing people; it is taking away people’s jobs; and it has destroyed the normal lives of people.

“I want Nigerians to heed the warnings of the Federal Government and its agencies by adhering to the protocol of Coronavirus.

The Primate expressed his gratitude to the Most Revd Julius Ogunseye, the Arch-Bishop, Lagos Province and Bishop, Lagos Mainland Diocese; Evangelist Babatunde Odufuwa, Lay President; and Brother Adekunle Jaiyesimi, Vice Lay President, Lagos Mainland Diocese for providing good leadership in the work of the church.
