Council chair presents N2.7b budget

Chairman Yaba Local Council Development Authority (LCDA) Kayode Omiyale has presented a budget of N2.7 billion to the Legislative Council.

At the presentation, Omiyale promised to integrate the rural communities of Makoko, Iwaya, Abule-Oja ,Abule-Ijesha to the cosmopolitan Yaba, Sabo, Alagomeji and other  modern settlements within the council.

He said: “This budget is meant to improve the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), improve the infrastructural facilities within the council, and to take the youths off the street.

“We christened it “Budget of Improvement” because we are determined to improve on our modest achievement last year which included the construction of a Modern Primary Health care Centre at Ori-Oke, Makoko, construction of Ishola/Tokunboh streets, a joint venture between the state and our council, construction of Church/Igbehin-Adun/Olulu streets with modern facilities such as drainage, walkway, street light and other facilities. This is also the first time in the history of Makoko that the residents will have easy access road to Iwaya.
