The chairman of Oto Awori LCDA, Ijanikin, Prince Musibau Adekunle Asafa has donated a patrol vehicle to the janikin Police Division in Lagos.
The presentation was held at the Council’s Secretariat in Ijanikin.
The council chief said no society can develop when criminal activities are allowed to go on without check.
He said: “ No amount is too much for the protection of lives and properties. Even though the Nigerian Police Force is directly under the Federal Government, it will not be out of place if the Local Government contributes it quota as security is everyone’s business.”
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ijanikin, CSP, Akinroye Kabiru Adesina while receiving the Patrol Vehicle expressed gratitude to the council boss, saying it would help checking crime and criminals.
Adesina said students and non-students would be engaged in order to discourage them from unlawful societies, and those caught shall face the wrath of the law.
The DPO said: “We are collaborating with members of Vigilante and Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps on robbery with aggressive Patrol in the nooks and crannies of LCDA which has reduced it drastically.”
He said no kidnap has been recorded and he also advised the youth never to find crime attractive so as not to regret in future, he added.
