Council chief extols monarch

The Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Dr Funmilayo Akande-Mohammed, has extolled the Ojora of Ijora and Iganmu Kingdom, Oba Fatai Aromire. The monarch is celebrating his 25 years anniversary.

Dr Akande-Mohammed said the monarch in the last 25 years have attracted tremendous developments to the council.

She described him as a charismatic father, iconic king and a leader.

She said: “We are thrilled by your achievements. We cannot equate the current status of Ijoraland and Iganmu with what it used to be before your ascension to the throne. We are proud of the revolutions that have taken place during your reign,” she said.

Describing the monarch as first among equals, she said the LCDA had recorded colossal feats under his reign.

She said the rapid socio-economic and political developments in the area in the last 25 years were unprecedented.

“We give thanks to God for the positive development in the lives of our people. In the years ahead, we shall continue to witness greater heights,” she said.

According to her, Oba Aromire is a traditional ruler, who has demonstrated interest and concern for good governance in the state.

The monarch, she said, is noted for offering wise counsel.
