The Morogbo Divisional Headquarters has received two patrol vehicles to aid their fight against crime in Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State.
The council Chairman, Samson Olatunde, said the donation of the vehicles would further improve security of lives and property in the communities.
“This gesture as you may recall is in fulfilment of a promise I made a few weeks ago during the visit of Area ‘K’ Police Command in Oko-Afo,” he said.
Popularly called Samola, Olatunde said he was determined to reduce crime to the barest minimum in the council.
He hailed the effort of the police in Olorunda LCDA for the reduction in the number of security threats recorded lately.
He, however, urged the residents to shun violence and ensure there is peace.
“We should be modest in whatever we do so that it will not lead to crisis,” he said.

Receiving the vehicles’ keys on behalf of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Regengha Timpa, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), thanked the council boss for fulfiling his promise.
“We never expect this so soon. The DPO requested for a vehicle, but he (Olatunde) in his wisdom provided two because he knows his terrain and his locality. I am short of words to describe this gesture.
“We have worked in several places and I haven’t seen a thing like this before. He has built a station within the council for his people. This alone will tell you that this is a man that cares for his people. He would do whatever it takes within his power to ensure that his people sleep with both eyes closed.
“The police needs this type of logistics to ensure that they get to trouble spots and ensure sanity. We want to make sure people are happier in this community,” Timpa said.
