Council hosts Senator Tinubu’s youth fiesta

Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) yesterday held a Youth Fiesta, a programme initiated by Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The event featured pupils from various schools in Apapa Iganmu LCDA. Gifts were presented to all participating schools.

Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA Dr Funmilayo Akande-Mohammed said the event was apt considering the situation at hand.

According to her, due to the adherence to COVID-19 guidelines, each council was permitted to organise the programme unlike previous glamourous outings.

Dr Akande-Mohammed thanked Senator Mrs Oluremi Tinubu for initiating the fiesta.

She described her as a role model to women in politics.

The council chief enjoined the youth to eschew criminal activities.

While thanking them for supporting her administration, Dr Akande-Mohammed said there was a need for a peaceful atmosphere to socialise, relieving tension and ensure development.

She urged the youths to continue to promote peaceful co-existence and shun actions disservice to the nation.

“We are resting on our oars to meet up with your expectations. We urge you to come out in large numbers to vote for us during the forthcoming council election. We all have roles to play to build the Nigeria of our dream,” she said.
