OJODU Local Council Development Authority (LCDA) in Lagos State has increased its health budget to N40 million following the outbreak of coronavirus. The initial budget was N36 million.
Council Chairman Julius Oloro spoke when he presented the N2.034 billion budget to the council’s legislative arm.
Oloro unveiled plans to accelerate economic growth through investment in infrastructure, health and agriculture.
He said the budget would be funded with money from the federation account and Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
Oloro said N67 million would be spent on personnel cost and other staff-related expenses; N72 million on overhead; N97 million on social services; and N55 million on non-current assets.
“Total revenue performance for 2019 was 94 per cent, which was due to the increase in allocation. However, it is without doubt that the secretariat allocation is subject to the availability of funds. Hopefully, we expect more revenue this year to enable us to implement our plans for the people.
“We assure you that the dividend of democracy will be felt in all nooks and crannies of the council,” he said.
