As more people continue to join Cross River State Governor Prof. Ben Ayade to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the leadership of Abi LGA, state Commissioner for Health Dr Betta Edu, Hon Faraton Robinson have pledged their solidarity and support.

Others including the entire Local Government Council political appointees alongside councilors, thousands of Abi residents have also formally defected to the ruling APC.

At the mega rally held recently, about 10 political wards of Abi LGA were welcomed by the State Chairman of APC, Sen. M.T Mbu Jnr who as ably represented by Hon. Sunny Ndep, Member House of Reps. Chief Dr Alex Egbona, Chief Bolaji Anani, Chief Barr. Okoi Obono Obla and others.

Speaking at the rally, Edu assured the Abi Community of improved governance.

She said, “You’re in safe hands with Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade who has promised to appoint more persons into his administration.”

Also, the Chairman of Abi LGA Hon. Farathon while welcoming everyone to the ruling party, thanked women and youths for the defection and alignment with the Governor’s decisions to take CRS to the center.

Similarly, member representing Abi/Yakurr federal constituency Chief Dr Alex Egbona said “Everyone in our party has equal rights and privileges.

“I call for peace, unity and togetherness. I thank Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade for taking the State to the Center as this means he’s got the interest of CRS.” He added.
