Council threatens to revoke shops

By Elo Edremoda, Warri

Empty shops at Ugbuwangue Modern Market in Warri, Delta State, will be revoked, if the owners fail to  meet the requirements to open their shops by Monday, it was learnt on Tuesday.

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Michael Tidi gave the warning yesterday at the council secretariat.

Tidi, who spoke through the council’s Secretary, Joseph Oribioye, urged business owners who have met the requirements to visit the council secretariat for profiling.

He encouraged those yet to effect their financial commitments to do so.

The market, which was recently opened, comprises 120 open and 110 lock-up shops.
