Authorities of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government will on Thursday hold an extraordinary session through video conference.
The regional leaders, according to a statement by the Communications Department of the ECOWAS Commission, will be discussing the situation andiImpact of the coronavirus
pandemic (COVID-19) in the ECOWAS region.
The meeting will be coming just days after an extraordinary summit of the Ministers- in- Charge of Finance and the Governors of Central Banks of the regional body.
ECOWAS had supported its members by making available financial support, in addition to assistance from international partners, for the
purchase of medical supplies and other essential equipment all in a bid to halt the spread of the virus.
