The Founder of the Musan Lafiyarmu foundation, Dr. Naima Idris, has tasked the Nigerian government on equipping isolation centres around the country with appropriate facilities. This is as the foundation gears up support towards fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dr Naima noted that with the need to support people towards curbing the virus, she decided to tow the health line.
She said, “When the issue of Covid-19 came up in China, we started sensitizing people on its how to prevent it contraction, even before it came to Nigeria, it was building on what we had before that led to the foundation deciding to do medical item donation
“I must say emphatically that many supporting organizations focused on distributing welfare items but i decided to focus on health because it is very important that people are in good health too”

Speaking on the challenges encountered during the donation, Dr Naima said lack of proper orientation among Nigerians almost caused issues
She said, “We had issue of people fearing contracting the virus through our donation. Infact, at a place, a young lady rejected our item and refused to touch it, when i asked her why, i found out that they have feeling of contamination of donations which is a wrong idea but generally we were accepted and it was helpful seeing how much impact efforts, no matter how little can make a difference”
She also noted that while distribution of palliatives has become important, the Nigerian government should not focus only on building isolation centres but should also equip them.
While calling on more support to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic, she said her foundation remains keen and committed to helping in creating awareness and solutions that can curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The foundation had donated Hand sanitizers, disinfectants and other items to about 6000 individuals in States such as Abuja, Yobe, Kano and other Northern states. She noted that there are efforts to spread activities to other states and regions especially as health awareness has become a key part of curbing Covid-19 pandemic.
