COVID-19: Retired nurses commend Makinde, donate N.2m to endowment fund

The Association of Professional Retired Nurses and Midwives of Nigeria in Oyo State, has commended Gov. Seyi Makinde on his efforts to curtail the spread of the coronavirus in the state.

The commendation was contained in a letter to Makinde dated April 15, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan.

The letter also conveyed the association’s donation of N200,000 to the State COVID-19 Endowment Fund.

The association, in the letter, noted with joy the deployment of commendable measures by the governor in attacking the pandemic.

It said the prompt establishment of the Oyo State Infectitious Disease Hospital, Olodo, as well as the Drive-Through and Walkthrough Test Centres in the state had attested to the fact that the Makinde administration was fighting the disease headlong.

The association also commended the governor for the good work it was doing in fighting COVID-19, assuring him of its support for every effort to contain the pandemic.

“In supporting the good work that your Excellency and your team are doing towards curtailing and containing the scourge of COVID-18 pandemic in Oyo State, we hereby give our widow’s mite of N200,000.

“The said amount has been credited into the Oyo State COVID-19 Endowment Fund Account domiciled at First Bank on Wednesday, April 15,” it said

The association prayed that the governor’s efforts would bring succour to the good people of the state.
