The Nigeria Custom Service has established a state command for Kebbi State.
The Deputy Comptroller-General, Finance and Administration, Alhaji Aminu Abubakar Dangaladima, paid familiarisation tour to the office complex in Birnin Kebbi on behalf of the Comptroller General, Ibrahim Hameed Ali, for the commencement of operation.
The Deputy Comptroller-General told newsmen at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, that the decision to establish a command for Kebbi is because “Kebbi State has eight border stations legally recognised, which made it necessary to detach the state from the Sokoto command.”

Dangaladima said a period of grace has been extended to car owners without valid customs duty to possess such document without which the law would take its course.
He conferred with Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu at the Government House to brief him about the establishment of a new command of the Nigeria Customs Service for Kebbi State as well as offered condolences to the governor on the death of his uncle, Alhaji Abdullahi Maigwandu Fada.
The Deputy Comptroller-General was accompanied on the visit by top customs officers, including the Commandant of the Kebbi State Command of the Nigeria Custom Service.
