Dana Air has said it will resume scheduled flights from Lagos to the Sam Mbakwe International Airport in Owerri, the Imo Stat capital, as from July 11.
In a statement in Lagos by its spokesman Kingsley Ezenwa said the addition of Owerri brought the current route network coverage of the airline to five destinations: Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Uyo and Owerri.
Dana Air’s Accountable Manager Obi Mbanuzuo said: “We are greatly delighted to extend our operations to Owerri.”
The manager said Owerri was becoming a hub in Nigeria, adding that the airline felt proud to extend “our award-winning service to the good people of Owerri, as we look forward to expanding our operations even further”.
He assured business and leisure travellers of pocket-friendly fares, saying: “From July 11, we will operate one daily flight from Lagos to Owerri with a return flight.”
But Mbanuzuo said the weekend schedule would be slightly different.
Also, the airline has launched a promo for members of its frequent flyer programme on social media.
Tagged: ‘Make a wish,’ the promo, which runs on twitter, asks guests to make any wish – ranging from free tickets, extra baggage allowance, discounts, access to lounge, free miles – which would be granted by the airline.
Mbanuzuo said Dana Air’s vision was to be recognised and respected as Nigeria’s most reliable and customer-friendly airline.
