Group Executive Director of CPL Group, Dapo Awofisayo, is fast etching himself as a symbol of patriotism and a champion of the new face of the Nigerian entertainment business.
Born in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria, In his early years, Dapo had his nursery education at St. Johns Nursery, Onipanu, Lagos State and Primary Education at Corona Secondary School, Agbara, Ogun, after which he attended the Oxbridge Tutorial College for his A level Education.
Dapo moved to London for his tertiary education in 2004, In 2007, acquired a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Kent, Canterbury. In 2008, he attained an MSc in Finance and Management from the Cranfield School of Management
Entertainment has been a major part of his life as Dapo organised concerts while in school and built chains of relationships with key players of the UK entertainment industry. Between 2011 and 2015, Dapo played a major part in organizing one of the biggest music and fashion show in Lagos(Nigeria) Music meets Runway.

Between the year 2010 and 2020, Dapo played major roles in pushing the Nigerian entertainment industry at a global scale as he was instrumental in bringing notable International artistes to Nigeria. From US. Some of these artistes include Fabulous, Rick Ross, Chris Brown, Angela Simons, Brandy, Joe, Bas, J Cole and also from the UK, NSG, Not3s, Tinnie Tempah, Skepta, Chipmunk and a host of others.
He is the first entertainment consultant in Africa for William Morris Endeavours. He proffered solutions and support to the company across its music and motion picture departments.
In September 2018, the role Dapo played was very instrumental in the campaign of the gubernatorial elections in Lagos State as he created Armoury for BOS, a political group that spearheaded the campaign of the incumbent governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwolu.
Apart from his love for entertainment and politics, Dapo is also a philanthropist. During the Abule Addo explosion in Lagos State, he mobilised the Armoury of BOS and raised the sum of 10 million Naira to aid victims of the explosion.
Also in this COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria, he has continued to provide palliatives of food and other basic needs to the less privileged citizens of the country. He also Donated 40,000 face masks and 40,000 gloves to Lagos State and Osun State Government respectively.
Despite being born with a silver spoon, as he is the grandson of the former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Dapo chose to go back to his roots and contribute his quota to the development of the country.
